Garage Makeover: Part Deux!
• Garage Makeover: Part ...
Beautiful, but kind of dark. We just redid our whole garage. What a difference it makes! I am so happy and proud of it, when the door goes up. No longer am I embarrassed by my garage. I love your flooring!
This is SO GOALS... Literally my dream garage down to every last detail. Amazing work! And thanks for documenting for the world to enjoy!
Isaiah Moreno glad you liked it! I have the plans all laid out for the next one. Just waiting to break ground on the new house!
I like the grey colour, I think it looks really modern and sharp. I'd probably have painted the ceiling white. Good job, very cool 👍
Thank you sir!
yours was the first garage build video i saw a couple of years ago... and i decided that the day i buy my house the first thing i will redo i the garage. i redid my garage. made a video of making my garage. i had completely forgotten where i got the inspiration from. and than i came across your video again.... and boy oh boy.. if today my garage looks half decent, i owe it to this video i saw a long time ago. thank you so much for inspiring me into making my garage and making a video.
i got a smile on my face when the door opened and i saw the vette just waiting outside for its new room :P
CrEaTiVeONE5962 cut your hair..its look like justin bieber porn video
At first I didn't think I was going to like the black and gray, but honestly it ended up really slick. I'm very envious of that garage. Well done.
I need this guy he works fast!

Man, I think the garage looks fantastic...dark or not. Very nice. And "real" car enthusiasts, clean their own cars. Lighten up people.
Can't please the entire internet. Oh well.
timelapseTuesday I painted my garage gray too( I don't know the exact name)and that was hard work specially the ceiling! How long did it take you anyway? I'm doing the same thing in my other house so another long hours of doing it again plus i'll be doing the rubber mats too!
Very nice, clean, garage. Job well done.
Thank you for this video. You did a great job.
I want my garage like this!!! This is perfect
This is the BEST custom garage on youtube.. awesome job man!
Color could be too dark to be practical but it sure looks cool and feels technical. Good work!
OMG, Soooo beautiful!!! Love it!
I really like what you did to your garage... the mats were a nice touch
Love it dude. Your garage, your choice of color. Thanks for posting!!
That's cold! Looks extremely professional.
All the trendy colours..grey and black. Now you need the lights on all the time. That's a pretty clever move.
Absolutely stunning! Wish my garage looked as awesome.! A great job! Same colors I would use! Happy for you!
Emma doobs Thank you!
The golf clubs added a nice touch👌
To hell with all the critics who never built anything much outside of a baloney & cheese sandwich! I like the lighter grey walls in the room and especially the floor cover. That would be a huge plus in northern states because the salt will eventually pit concrete floors without some sort of protection.
Looks great. Awesome work. That was way cool of you to answer everyone and post the descriptions. Thank you!
I love the black and gray paint. These are the two colors I'm doing to my garage along with some bright blue stripes; much like when you had the painters blue tape at the bottom of yours. It's much better than an all white garage.
It's to dark for me too. But it's you garage, so if you like it, you can paint it black, or pink, or whatever color you want.
Great Job! I'll admit, I was a little skeptical at first, but that's typical and it turned out great. You should really do more videos.
That is a cool garage to park a car in that won't ever get worked on.
awesome awesome job on the garage!
good job and the color combo is perfect !!
.
Good work man, to me that looks clean and modern, have no idea why people are hating on you
Thanks. That's just what you get with the internet.

It’s not hating on you, it’s just that you have chosen darker colors for the makeover. Darker colors make the room look smaller and not as bright as lighter colors when turning on the lights.
Our neighbor did some choice racing striping in his garage that I'm totally going to steal. Just a colored ribbon around the space makes a big visual difference.
Should double up as a great home theater too!
We could argue about these dark colors everywhere, but that's a personal taste. Othen than that it's pretty cool.
Zé its not cool..its hot..because dark pull the temperature..if you understand what I mean..btw Im not english native speaker
thx for posting. people like you are awesome!
For all of the comments regarding dark paint, adding more LED lighting will take care of that. Red Bull reefer was a nice touch. Nice job!
Kicks job wow. People need to realize that it's your house so you did it how YOU wanted it. Might steal that colorway from ya....👍
The decal on the wall is a nice touch
Thanks.
This was cool!
Straight Fire! Great job for a awesome car! 👍☺
In the process of building mine!!! Wish I could share a pic on here!
I like it. Obviously no one else has seen a car shop like this so they want white walls for light.
Nice video! Helps give me ideas on finishing up my garage. I am just down to flooring and cabinets. I was not sure whether to go with epoxy flooring or the tile like you have. Any reason why you chose tile over epoxy? I don't like the storage in my main garage though so that stuff stays in the storage garage. I just like the main garage to compliment my house. Thanks for sharing!
very nice, you weren't playing little red corvette while you were working by chance.lol
This is amazing the only thing is missing from this video is some background music My respect salute
The dark might not be the most efficient for working in the garage, but it has to feel like the bat cave when you drive out at night. That's gotta be a cool feeling before you start ripping in the Vette.
I like it.. you need more lights now but I do like the color.. the floor is amazing and is nice home for that corvette.. which is by far one of the sexiest America has ever made.
Painful reading comments sometimes.
You did a fabulous job, mostly by yourself and did it exactly how you wanted it with the $ resources you had...others can stuff it.
I like the floors, wall colour and cabinetry....we have made some similar decisions. Just finishing off building our house ourselves and I had an attached workshop and separate garage as well to outfit with floors and cabinets. Looked at Racedeck and LOVE their look, but went Epoxy (polyaspartic actually)with paint chips. Looks good and is ok but wasn't cheap. Got the same cabinet package in blue with the silver stripe on a Costco deal...could have spent a fortune on others, but those are good middle of the road cabinets. White paint and LED overhead garage lights (Home Depot) make me want to paint the walls darker in the garage as it is too glaring, but will see how it goes.
I applaud your work and courage to put up a video for morons to evaluate and nitpick.
Cheers
Gotta expect to get burned once in a while if you are posting anything on the internet! That set of cabinets is pretty nice for the cost. Over 2 years old, no rust, no scratches and still going strong.
Amazing job !
Seems a bit dark for me. I used the same race deck and cabinet colors but went with lighter colored walls and ceiling. Anyhow, I'm digging epoxy floors now days. Our Texas home came that way and I love it. So I'm getting ready to do the same to our Colorado home this summer.
Beautiful home for your corvette
looks very good. Been debating what kind of flooring I want to put down in my garage for my makeover. I love the look of those tiles, but have read that they can crack, etc when use with a hydraulic car jack (I saw one in your video) when using for lifting the cars that I work on. I may just go with the floor paint/sealer. Doesn't look as cool, jack will roll easily and won't tear up when I have my car on it or on jack stands. Please let us know how it holds up under heavy DIY auto work.
hey mate good job! what floor did you use?
Wow looks amazing. Nice work.
Thanks for sharing this video. "Dreams."
The grey walls looks great.
The grey paint made it too dark to work in that garage. I'd have left it white, but I do like the flooring.
i think maybe if he chose a lighter grey it would have been better. that's assuming he's going to do any work to his car in his garage.
RedpointFive just curious to save money and headache would it be possible to just correct the room with proper and brighter lighting instead of re painting(not saying the owner of the video would do it)?
While the garage looks neat with that dark paint scheme, it really isn't functional for working on anything. Adding more lights can help, but nothing will fully compensate for the dark walls and ceiling because it doesn't reflect the available light.
The benefit of white or light colored surfaces is that it reflects light in all directions. All the little nooks and crannies of an engine bay get more light from the reflection coming off the walls and ceiling. Without that reflection, you have to rely on direct lighting, and even then it will cast deep shaddows behind anything not directly facing the light source.
This nice looking garage is fine for people that don't work in it much, but I wouldn't recommend it for those who do work in it. I'd hate to drop a bolt into the engine compartment of a vehicle parked in there; something I do too often.
My life mantra is that form should follow function. Other people might feel just the opposite. My garage doesn't look great like this one, but it has white walls, power and air on retractible reels on the ceiling, lots of cheap wall shelving... I have 5 bicycles, 2 cars, 1 motorcycle, a ping pong table, work bench, a folding 4x8 trailer, and a futon, along with lots of tools in my 2 car garage. I have maximized the utility of the space, and still have room to work if I move the cars out to the driveway.
RedpointFive Indeed. I wanted more form. I've added a lot more light since the video.
RedpointFive M mm mm
Damn man, I'm jealous--hoping to do something like this with mine this summer
awesome job! really inspiring!
I knew this Garage looked totally familiar. My Grandfather lives up the block from you!!
Its a small world!
So I’m painting my garage gray and black right now. Like your garage my concrete floor goes up the walls about 4 inches. Did you paint the vertical part of the concrete? Do you regrets going so dark wall color? I have 4 10,000 lumen led lights in my 2 car and think it will look good.
I painted my garage in the same theme a few weeks ago. Lol, thought I was being original. Then I stumbled upon this video
Get ready for some blowback! Apparently some people think a dark garage is the end of the world. 😱
That garage looks amazing
Was thinking of this setup but now that I've seen it I'm going ahead with it. Thank you
I am by no means endorsed by NewAge Products, but I highly recommend their storage. I've finally broken ground on my new house and will be buying from them again.
Looks great dude...sweet setup and the corvette sounds glorious
Looks really good
Great work fella, looks great
It looked better before with the light color. Good going Einstein. Now you have to do it again.
mac daddy Beat you to it! I already did it again, watch part deux!
good job.... i like your garage and what you did with it...IM JEALOUS..LOL ENJOY IT
Looks great! My vette would love that home! Im curious about water drainage, snow melt! Do those riles allow water to gather under them? Where i live i would be concerned about snow melt causing wet moldy conditions under the tiles
Would love to makeover my garage for my mopars. Nice job!
Guys how many 12x12 pieces do I need just enough so one care can sit on?? In your opinion
I like the colors. Doesn't mean I'm right, but wanted to share positivity in the sea of angry morons who are hating on your color choices. I'm happy that it looks good and you're happy, other's can't be unless it's exactly what they would do...must be a fun life for those folks.
I think throwing the grey all around closed the garage in a bit but if you're a Vette fan I'm sure it's a great looking room to pull into everyday. Thanks for the vid.
Nice job.
Great job man.
At first I wanted to criticise the colour of the paint, but after seeing the tiles and cupboards, I understand, overall that is one nice garage.
I think looks great. good job man
Few questions: which model cabinets did you user exactly? Bold, Performance Performance plus, Pro? I was looking at using the same type of tiles. Do the make a clacking sound when you walk across them? Have you had to take them out at all to clean underneath if for any reason? I live in the Chicagoland area and thinking about the melting snow and ice and what might seep through the joints.
I used the performance series cabinets. The tiles don't make a clacking sound, but you can definitely tell they are plastic if you have dress shoes on. I haven't had to life them up yet, but I wouldn't worry about anything that might get underneath them.
looks good and simple. I like the black. everyone does the red and I don't like red. lol
looks good man
what color the paint u used ? and where did you get your flooring
those are nice cabinets
Sweet mancave! I couldn't help but notice you missed putting in the beer fridge. Lol. I'm looking at getting the Racedeck tiles for my garage but these look to cost quite a bit less. Have any of the tabs or lock channels snapped on you? It gets below -30 celsius here in the winter months and I'm a little worried the tiles will get brittle and bust
Looks awesome man. Great job!!
Bardzo dobra robota! Git malina jest!
Now all that's needed is about a billion lumens to light the Vette cave.
I’ve moved since this video was done, but it had 12 5 foot 6500k LED T12s. It was a surgery room.
Very cool.. I like it.👌
What colors are the curtains u will putting up
what are those floor tiles made out of?
Garage looks awesome. What is the exact color you used for the walls? And where did you buy the floor tiles?
Looks kick ass ....as a garage used solely for storing. I gotta fault you on choice of color when used as a work space. My dad just recently painted his entire garage that same grey and it sucks up a lot of the light. Don't get me wrong I love the colors...painted my sons room the grey with an accent wall painted black. You gotta go white if you plan on working in your garage....less eye strain
Very nice.
Hi ! Could you please tell me what is the size of your garage ? Very good job. :) cheers from France !
The garage is just over 400sqft
Good job, nice color, now need heaps of led lights
what are these floor mats calles you lay down like a puzzle??
impressive !!! good job
Awesome, any specific colours/codes? Or just black and grey. Also matt? or shine
1 problem- where do I put all of my sh*t for the 7+ mins it takes me to do this?
Great job!! Wish I had the money to do mine......
Nice Video,A pleasure to watch.
nicely done
Can grid lock tiles be used on surfaces that are not flat? The tiles in my garage is bumpy
Tap Javu might make things a little sketchy. Depends on how bumpy they are.
Nice work!! I have same garage size may i know how much you spent for that. Thanks
