The Story About The Night King Was A Lie? - Game of Thrones Season 8 (End Game Theories)

- Welcome back for another Game of Thrones Season 8 End Game Theories video. This is a Q&A video, but my main focus is on a question about the Night King. With the recent developments about HBO producing a Prequel show to Game of Thrones, some people are concerned we may not get all the answers at the end of the final season. We have all been wanting to know more about the Night King, but there is a possibility what we've been told thus far is not 100% accurate. The description about the new show says, we will find out more about the Starks of legend, along with the true origin of the White Walkers. This concerns me, because it seemed like we were already given this information in the sixth season. Leaf told us why she created the Night King, and we were even shown this in one of Bran Stark's visions, but was it the truth? What else do we need to know about the White Walkers origin, and does it have anything to do with the Starks of legend? I think it might... Did Bloodraven and the Children of the Forest lie to Bran? What are their true intentions? Are the Children of the Forest and Bloodraven still working with the Night King and the White Walkers? The Starks have always had this strange connection with the Others, dating all the way back to the Long Night. Everything from the name of their castle, Winterfell, to their house words, Winter is Coming, and most importantly, if Old Nan's story is correct, then that means the original Night's King was a Stark of Winterfell, but how will this tie into the ending of Game of Thrones? What does this mean for Bran Stark and Jon Snow? Let me know what you think about all of this. I know it sounds crazy, but I think it's worth taking into consideration. Anyways, thank you all very much for watching the video! The link to enter the new giveaway is down below.

"He could have turned around and turned Summer into Winter" .....love that.
Do you think Bran could warg into undead Summer ("Winter") in order to let Ghost have the upperhand in a fight between the two?
Thank u 😊
“...because he’s too old and he’s stuck in the damn tree.”
I almost spit my drink out that was so damn funny.
I have a strong feeling the night king is a VICTOM not a pure evil character. He had plenty of opportunities to kill people but he didn’t, he has a specific purpose not just marching and killing humans
seems someone has a crush on the NIGHT**/KNIGHT KING
I agree with you, seems like he didn't want that much to be turned into the ice king of death. He was probably betrayed by the children of the forest or even bloodraven himself
VICTOM?
Rsha Ali he’s in it for the infinity gauntlet
One of my main theories involves the idea that it may be wisest to just get out of his way. They don't seem to kill what's not opposing them.
Thank you for choosing my question. I ask a lot of questions as I know nothing.
It is known.
You should drink then
Jon snow
Like Jon Snow you know nothing
lol
Thanks for fulfilling my GoT needs. 1 year is a long time to wait inbetween seasons and these videos help🖒😊
Troy they help but they also make us greedy for more GOT seasons
Read the books
i do have them but did not start reading it yet
@@randomnamemab I don't have the imagination to read books unfortunately :(
Troy I have the imagination but I don’t have the language. Reading these books will need a lot of translation for me to understand, watching videos is alot more easier since I actually understand the whole thing.
Wow can't believe you are are posting a video every two to three days.. dedication level🤖
I try, my friend. Thanks for watching them.
Martin Colton I’m.. duh! Lol it’s why it’s actually fun - if you knew everything before hand where’s the fun in that??
A mentalist approach. Spits so much stuff that something will eventually turn to be true.
Maybe I'm in minority but I don't think CoF and Bloodraven lied to Bran. Memories in a trees don't seem like something that can be altered or faked. I think everything Bran saw was real events. What could be different is contexts of it, story they told him. Creating Night king might be real but story of how they were losing to people might not be. Maybe they were purposefully trying to kill mankind. Who knows...? But ya can't trust them anyway..
Right hes the three eyed raven now anyway he could go back by himself and look
I'm thinking one way it would sorta bring ned back is after jon finds out hes not neds son. Maybe jon could be in the crypt looking at neds and lyanna statues and he hear ned saying the final words he told Jon. "YOUR A STARK, YOU MIGHT NOT HAVE MY NAME BUT YOU HAVE MY BLOOD".
With regards to the Ned Stark question at the end...Perhaps Bran could show Jon a flashback of Ned in the Crypts, speaking to Lyanna's tomb, telling her how much Jon has grown, and how proud she would be of the man he is becoming.
Ghost saving the life of Daenarys could be interesting.
Piekenier No Ghost will RIDE a dragon! 😂
Brenden Mulhern Now there’s an idea
Your answer to the final question swelled up some major emotions in me. Imagining Ned describing to Jon who his mother is gave me "the feels". Talking about his sister to young Jon, with all the admiration and sibling love. And the thought of how that conversation can never happen is heartbreaking.
I want one more Got season about history of night king and white walkers 💀
If Howland Reed is ever going to make an appearance, it might be beneficial to have a scene with he and young Ned.
Children of forest did not tell anything about creation of night king. Bran himself saw it in his vision.
She told Bran why she did it.
Technically... Bran says, "you created the white walkers!" Not, "you created the night king." There's a big difference.
@@drsavage3262 Not really. NK is the first white walker. He made the others, not the children of forest, making him the top gun lol. The king.
Jay Sondh not true either necessarily, in the carvings of the cave on dragonstone it shows what is clearly a night king, but he has a long goatee, suggesting there very well may have been a prior night king
@@mards2479 or maybe he shaved his ice beard ?
I think the White Walkers have a proper city in the lands of always winter. Who stitched their clothes? Who made their weapons - a blacksmith!? It would be great to have a video dedicated to what is present in the lands of winter...
Honestly I watch every single video you post and all of them make sense to me and now I‘m more confused than ever 😂😂
Most beautiful women I ever seen. You put a dagger on my heart.
Good video Talking Thrones! I agree the Children of the Forest and Bllod Raven are not telling Bran the entire truth....there is alot more to the story and why they picked this proto Stark, which I believe he is, as the Night King. I definitely see us seeing Ghost kill Wights, meet Daenerys and Drogon in season 8. I don't think we will see a flashback of Ned either because Howland Reed could answer all of the questions concerning Jon's birth and parentage and believe we will see him in season 8.
Another great video! There's so many twists, lies, etc up to this point, GRRM could easily end or extend any theory to his liking. Whether or not we find out about them in season 8 will depend on how HBO/GRRM want to present the follow-on series. Since GRRM doesn't seem to be writing ASOIAF chapters/books at any great speed, who knows? I think the only thing we'll truly find out is that NK isn't necessarily evil. As its been said before, he's just the hero for the other side, and a dupe for the CotF.
I blame the show runners!
I don't think any of the stark Children will die because as the actor of character "Sansa" , Sophie Turner had a tattoo written " pack survives". What do you think about this.?
For Reel? I love it
She smokes , she's talking about a pack of cigarettes
Don't be too excited. The saying is absolutely practical in real life, outside of show. About the importance of unity and family, plus its a cool saying. Don't be making theories out of literally everything bruh
I’m wondering if the entire storyline is a tale made up by Sam telling his children as a bedtime story.....
I don't think it's a made up story. I believe the last scene will be samwell telling the story as he has written it. We will see samwell as grand maester of the 7 kingdoms. As he stands in front of a classroom telling the story of Ice and fire to the next generation. With one asking how do we know the story is true. Sam replys with how do you know it's not the truth. All written works are divided into what we know is true what might be true and only written to entertain us I was given the task to write the history of the 7 kingdoms and what happened during the long night by our king Jon and queen Daenerys
Edward Manues honestly it could work both ways ...a part of me is sad when it does end in the books and the show
Sam is probably the most overt Tolkien influence when it comes to specific characters. He’s an homage to Samwise Gamgee, the Hobbit whose “tale must go on” after the darkest war for the world ends and the greatest heroes and villains are dust and myth.
William I agree and very well put
Edward Manues it will be Jon snow. The song of ice n fire is his journey to the throne
Leaf and Bloodraven kinda showed Bran what they wanted him to see, but with very little in terms of timing, other events happening concurrently, etc. Bran draws his conclusion and they do not correct him or lead him to think he's off or not spot-on. I totally agree, I think they have some dark motives of their own and Bran is just being strung along and showed pieces that will lead him to feel 'sorry for' and help the Children.. But, when it comes to GRRM, who the hell knows which direction it may go?? Awesome analysis, though!
When Leaf sacrificed herself for them to escape, the look on her face as she's getting stabbed and bitten to death is almost like SATISFACTION! She knew what was up and what she had to do for their plan to manipulate Bran to work!
I was watching GOT the other day, and noticed Ghost goes to Gillie's tummy when she's pregnant. This is something significant.
Any clue what season/episode? I would love to check that out!
What do you think does it mean tho?
Probably that the kid also has red eyes and great power
Baby sam was supposed to be the Night Kings heir
The Night King WAS supposed to get baby Sam, it's possible that he is the heir that NK wanted amd Ghost knows something we don't.
Basically everything ever been told was a lie.. what makes the prophecies not ?
We will have to wait and see. They could be bs too.
Rsha Ali bravo, good point!
There have been a number of unfulfilled prophecies in the show-the most notable being that Dany and Drogo's son would become the stallion who will mount the worlds. Prophecies are a tricky narrative device, and they're meaningless if ALL of them ALWAYS come true. George knows this. That's why we have examples of prophecies that DID come true, and prophecies that did not.
@@TalkingThrones what about little finger speaking in the intro?
They're a bit like astrology, so ambiguous they're bound to come true
You are excellent in your theories and ideals about what is next to come. You're asking the questions that everyone is thinking. You're awesome.
I really admire your effort and creativity to keep this channel alive during this long gap between seasons!
Martin wrote for Star Trek years ago, I have a feeling that he might have had a Borg deal with one who was turned and then found their humanity, sent back, reupped into the collective that individuality got passed into the ship. later the ship ship was split into two groups, and one was usurped by lore.
so far we have tales of how the night's king fell in love with a female white walker, the huge Borg, that gains back her humanity..... fast forward to Crastors son being assimilated into the collective of the White walkers, I am just saying.
keith scherzer I have no idea what the hell you’re saying, but I love me some Borg!
a hybrid race
The borg were once white walkers
I am excited for the numerous prequel series that are likely to be made (HBO really needs them tbh) but i do think especially with the content of the upcoming Age of Heroes / Original Long Night , and the description about revealing truths and debunking misconceptions that unfortunately we will not get all the answers we wanted in the final episodes. I don’t think the show-runners will do the fans a massive disservice with unanswered questions, but I do I think it will likely be a mixed bag with some being answered , others will not - left to build anticipation for the AoH series.
Also agree with TT that what is shown on GoT might not be the total truth anyway. For me most of the content regarding the WW / NK & the CotF on the show does seem from the perspective of what Bloodraven and the CotF want us and the characters to see. In particular , with that NK creation scene Bran was shown , do we even definitively know if that was the first WW or the first NK for example - there is some ambiguity there. And with Bloodraven and perhaps more importantly with the CotF , we don't know their true motives / end-game or with the CotF specifically if there were / are some groups of them that may not have been part of the pact or objected to the pact who may have varying intentions.
I feel like the pairing of Nymiria and Ghost could be a substitute to George original idea of Jon and Arya together. With them being the remaining Stark direwolves...
flash back of Ned showing the true secrets of the crypts underneath winterfell
thank you for your input truly! thanks for taking the TV show a bit further than the rest of the youtubers...
The best ending that I would write is that the three eyed Raven is a mixture of bad people and when they went into bran manipulated him to get to the seat of power. If this is the case Bran is the villain and that's genius writing. Maybe the nk and ter were enemies of some sort and had a part in him becoming imprisoned in his white walker body.
What did the witch mean when she told Dany that Khal Drogo would return to consciousness?
Hey Brother. Thank you for posting videos as much as you do. It's nice having this while waiting for the book and show.
I haven't watched the video yet except the opening ten seconds. But that quote by Littlefinger about winners writing history, even with lies, is such a prevalent theme in the show and in life. The Walkers are such a mystery that I've been expecting a big twist at the end about them because I believe they're the only ones that can still surprise us. Ive had a feeling something about their origins seemed too convenient. Jesus, hurry up season 8 so I can be surprised, excited, heartbroken then, ultimately, sad about it all being over. Love you GoT. There's you and Breaking Bad, then everyone else!
You know everything TT..❤❤
Blood raven warged into bran to continue through his body calling it now his whole personality changed right after blood raven ‘dies ‘
Why No one still thinking about the horn? Am I the only one that believe that gendry is very very important because he can probably forge with valerian steel and maybe dragon glass...if they us the Horn, that is currently broken, then gendry is probably the only one that can repair the horn! We still don't really know what the horn does, but still is important or they wouldn't had shown the horn with the dragon glass
I saw another theory video about the Horn and what it could be for. I think if it works, it can call up the dead to fight FOR the starks and help them. Or I can also see if you blew the horn, the wights that could hear it, fall to the ground in pieces.
Total theories, but I think it was also from TT
Converting summer into winter😂😂 that was lit🙌🙌
But nobody can hide anything from Brandon Stark of winterfell because he is the 3 eyed raven now.
He can see anything that happened in time.
Like he saw the truth about John Snow .
And also the betrayal of Lord Peter Baelish.
but baelish is alive and he has played everyone. :)
But he thought Jon was a bastard until Sam told him about what he had read...he has access to everything but if he doesn’t know, then he doesn’t know he where to look 🤷🏼♀️
A2 H2-BOTS he’s dead! If it was a faceless person then the disguise would have come off after Peter’s throat was cut and he bled to death
You have the best GOT channel brotha
Summer into Winter...man that caught me off guard LOL
Good video like it dan 😃👍
Yup! I'm with you TT, I do not trust the Children of the Forest. I think they are still holding a grudge against humans. Lots of cool questions this time around. I really liked the one about the possibility of the NK having an undead direwolf.
Another great video TT!!! By the way, I really don't think Ghost can get trampled by horses on the battle field because he is the same size as a horse.
Could maester aemon's words "kill the boy Jon snow and let the man be born" have foreshadowed Jon's death? If not what did he mean?
Sathvik Rao I think he meant Jon must make difficult and sometimes unpopular decisions for the greater good. He must do so without fear, or softness. Jon will have to become tough and hardened to survive and lead men in the great war. ...that's not a job for any boy...it will require an extraordinary man.
@@Jockeylotforfun I totally agree but could it mean something else? Because Jon becomes a different man then on.
I think he will have to kill bran, he is becoming less human as the series progresses, killing bran (nessa nessa) in order to kill NK magic is dying, it's last stand, giant's, COTF,dragons, 3eyed ravens, all must go,dire wolfs will be the last generation.
Sathvik Rao I think it's related to this.."When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I thought as a child, I understood as a child, but when I became a man, I put away childish things. (kill the boy..let the man be born) For Now we see through a mirror, darkly, but then face to face. (Jon has a glimpse of the man he is to become) Now I know in part, but then I shall know, just as I also am known. (He will see himself as the man others see him) It's actually from Corinthians.
I think it means both,it has a double meaning
Thabk you for so many videos lately you have really outdone yourself like seriously love your videos been a subscriber for a long time and your videos get me through those really tough days!! Please don’t stop making these you have made a difference in my life if not many more !! Keep up the amazing work again can’t wait for the last season and you fill my fix since I have watched the heck out the old seasons! Again great work love your videos !! Thank you 🙏🏽 so much
Love The Intro Man !
Ned flashback: Robert v Rhaegar on the Ruby Fork
Ruby Ford*
Sympathetic Misanthrope It was on the Red Fork in the Riverlands.
I would love to see it, but I don't see what purpose it would serve now.
Thank you, my very cool friend. Have an awesome rest of the week!
Season one showed us the truth is what you make it. Cersei told Joffrey this for a reason. That scene is not in the books. Crows are liars. The starks have forgot what they created, or are also liars. Winter is coming to remind them.
Turned summer into winter, luv that quote
im sure the prequel will get green light.. it might go into the white walker queen possibly!
Look at the scene where Samwell was reading the book when he found out that it was dragon glass on dragon stone in season 7. There are red letters in the book that spell out something important when he first open the book.
Well, this video didnt age well...
When i saw you were answering questions i SOOO hoped you would answer my question about the dragon eggs last video... really just for a laugh lol
I like the idea of bran showing john the truth... maybe it would be a vision of Ned talking in the crypts to lyannas tomb. About john his promise. What he feels john can do . Like ned having a very conflicted view about what john could be.
In season 6 episode 1. Cersei as a child meets a witch and she predicts that she’ll become a queen and lose all her 3 kids. All of that happened but she also said that she won’t be a queen for long. There will be a new queen more younger and beautiful. Please ponder upon this topic as well. Thanks!
Daenerys?
Brian Cromartie tbh it seems like a pretty simple and obvious guess. But there isn’t anything simple in GoT, so my guess is it could be Sansa!
if you read grrm other works there is never an evil vs good story is more like gray vs gray .
Would be cool to see Jon ride Ghost into battle. Since in the books, Ghost is a lot bigger (approaching Jon’s height while standing on all fours) yet still not fully grown, and that legend claims that some direwolves could grow as large for a grown man to ride like a horse.
Another great video! When will you and Gray get together again? I love to hear you two talk over topics and theories!
Around the 8min mark when he said "bloodraven is stuck in that damn tree," made me laugh so hard I almost peed my pants!
Time to talk...
This was a GREAT video. Right on point for everything I believe as well. Now that you say it, it would be cool to see "Winter" but something tells me they cannot turn. Would be cool though. Ghost is going to rock this season and he WILL make it to the end and probably be the one sitting on the throne!
Your intro still gives me the chills
i just watched some of ur videos and i came along the scene when jon was first introduced to mance rayder. there, i think is a big clue about jon and the azor ahai theory, because of what mance said to jon: i think what u most want to be is a hero.
In the books i forget who it is, but one of the maidens tells bran the story about the white king, and how his name was also bran. When bran uses greensight or whatever its called, he might get stuck if he fucks around too much.
Hey man (Posted this on one of your older videos today but seeing as there's a new one... I'll just leave this here), I'm sitting at my desk here at work listening to all kinds of ASOIF theories and I have this Lovecraftian Beastiary pin up that has all the entities associated with Lovecraft's Mythos. Each entity has a symbol associated with their name and I noticed a star that looked far too familiar. Cthugha, a "Great Old One" has a SEVEN-POINTED STAR as it's symbol, not only that, but it's title is "THE LIVING FLAME". Can you find a connection in this? Cthugha is bound by chains for eternity by the Elder Gods...
Bran and the Night King look very similar..........???? Anybody agree?
No
Old old theory
Old story !
Old old theory but still plausible.
@@aldendiaz1165 yes 😄 I never disagreed
Thanks for the awesome video! Also for the “where to find” info .
Bobbi Catalano yyyyyyuuu
Randy Urias 👀.
i’d rather have gotten a spin-off abt the starks screw the targaryens they’ve done enough
I love what you are doing keeps me interested while we wait for next years Game of Thones😎
TT
Samwell Tarley knows.... he read it in a book he found in that enormous library..😄
Arya Stark kills the night king......BOOM
When Ned tells Jon that he’d tell him the next time he saw him that could very well foreshadow bran showing him a vision and seeing proof
I always wait for your upcomming vedio
Ghost came back in second ep.... no reunion :( and he looks like he hasnt eaten. Very small
I Think The COtF Are Like The Woodland Creatures From The Simpsons (Grrr) I Also Thought The Best Way For Bran To Show Jon Things He Could See, Would Be To Hold Jon's Hand While Touching The Tree! I Wonder If Bran Might Be Able To 'Project' Thoughts To His Siblings! All The Starks Have Abilities That They're Unaware Of!
I love this intro.
You do an amazing job on the video's you do! It's my GOT fix, thank you!
Yeah! More Ghost please!
Just hope they dont end it in a way that will make us to wait for the spinoff series. Just complete the show as a complete story and the motivations of characters especially the Night King.
I don’t know about this theory. The show’s producers said the Three Eyed Ravens’ consciousnesses was “downloaded” into Bran. So that means Bran knows the truth. Unless, the show’s writers go back on their own cannon, which is not unusual for the HBO writer’s room. 🙄
something people need to keep in mind is often times a villain doesn't need motivation besides evil. Sometimes all the viewer needs to know is that the bad guy wants to kill the good guy. Game of thrones is different because we've been given plenty of material that begs the question of why the white walkers do what they do: The symbols in the first episode and the fist of the first men, why the white walker didn't kill Sam in the season 2 finale, and some other less concrete things as well. Fortunately for us, those kind of things won't be introduced without closure. We will find out what all the symbols mean, we may figure out why the white walker didn't kill Sam, and we'll definitely get more about the Knight Kings creation.
I was going to say, I think Bran will warg into Ghost, because in the video where you were talking about how Jon Snow found Ghost, some quotes you mentioned talked about “Bran’s GHOST”. Theon thought the weirwood was “Bran’s GHOST”. Maybe Bran’s ghost is actually...Ghost? Just a theory.
What do I think are the Children's true intentions? Well... Ineluki, the King's younger son, wanted vengeance. His hatred was matched only by his patience. He used his and the Red Hand's influence to turn the world of men against themselves. A civil war of men would make them easier to defeat.
I have a question that hopefully someone can answer. Their is a lot of talk about kings blood and how powerful it is. Was King Robert a true kind who had power in his blood because he usurped the mad king. Did Rob all of sudden have magical powers in his blood because the North declared him King of the North or did he already have power because he comes from the kings of winter? Everything Melisandra did with Stannis was because she believed he had Kings Blood but did he really? I personally think unless it says something within the books that I am not aware of that only the Targayan family has true kings blood.
He's got a small amount of Targaeryan (sorry spelling) blood in him as his grand mother (just wiki his family tree) was princess Raelle daughter of Aegon the fifth so his great grandfather is literally a Targaeryan king, she married into the Baratheon family so Robs father was half dragon/half stag making Rob, Stannis & Renly 1/4 dragon, plus Aegon the conquerors Hand of the king Orys (& supposed half bastard brother) married and started the house of Baratheon as 1st lord of stormsend after the house of Durrandon.
it wasnt a lie necessarily. Bran just left before he could realize the entire truth.
We don't see what happens afterwards so we wouldn't know if the Children of the Forest secretly allied themselves with the White Walkers or if something else strange were to take place in between the moment the 1st White Walker was created and the first long night that would cause the White Walkers to go beserk and kill everyone.
This intro man... The music is fantastic and little finger's monolog. Just transending.
if Bran was lied to by 3 eyed raven coudlnt he determine it was a lie once he became the three eyed raven himnself? unless they are allowed to keep things from him as part of their magic, you'd think he coudl answer all of these questions simply by looking backwards.
I am a fan dude of your channel. I’ve seen many GOT channels but this one is cool thus far.
or maybe "not a story we know" is that Azor Ahai, that defeated previous night king, didn't defeated, but took it's place and he was one of Starks, so now Stark is king and marching to defend winterfell.
I think all these mysteries are also linked to the fact that we totally ignore about more than half of the map of this world. We only know westeros and a little bit of Esos, and barely nothing about others continents. What do you guys think about it ???
You called Brandon little kid but even he said that he is no longer brain. Taking that power I'm sure the children of the forest new would make him more mature because he gained so much experience over the generations through his visions. It reminds me of the Atreides children in Dune. They had the memory of all the ancestors so they were much more mature and knowledgeable then the average person.
He was a little kid when he was recruited. That was in s1.
I REALLY want to see those damn spiders come this season... also, new sub to your channel. Always great content!
We all have theory’s.
Mine, the three main stories azoria Hyde, bale the--, and the 13 lord commander are stories of the same person.
The starks are a mix of the first men and the children of the forest. the wall was not to stop the whites, but children of men from going north.
With the fall of winter fell, and the night king being azora Hyde father of all starks, he’s returning to reclaim his family’s home.
Also believe, twee said the dier wolves will out live us all but etc... , she was talking about the stark blood line.
Could Rob Stark’s body with Grey Wind’s head attached to it be reanimated by the Night King? I know this is technically two separate worgs, both robbs body and the direwolf head, but this would honestly be the coolest Wight yet, and I think Jon having to face off against “them” would be creepy as hell and Epic.
Lol that would be fookin epic as hell.. If the body and head are still around, then sure it's possible.
What if I’m the next season we see that the full vision where the night king is created and he then breaks free of his ropes and then kneels to the children of the forest. That would mean that the children are the true enemies and are controlling the white walkers
Is the whole season gonna drop at 1 time or a single episode per week, please respond.
Bran is “The Prince that was Promised”. He is meant to take the place of the Night King, Tge Starks on the wall used to give human sacrifices to the Night King. That pact was broken, Bran is the payment to the Night King
