I’m glad Solo wasn’t afraid to be open about Steven’s behavior towards GTA fans. Ned seemed like he didn’t want to open that can of worms, which is fair enough. But everything Solo said about the situation was correct. Trevor put Steven on the map, and it’s pretty shitty, at least in my opinion, that he almost resents the character and denies its existence now. Like, I understand you want to be recognized for your other roles, but you have to understand the magnitude and popularity of a project like GTA that you worked on for several years. Have some pride in your work, especially when people recognize you for it. Ned and Solo are still grateful to be so beloved by fans, and it’s heartwarming to see. As Ned said, “I’m gonna ride this wave of popularity for as long as I can.”

Solo is such a great guy! Playing as Franklin on GTA 5 while growing up since I was 10 and now I'm 20 is something I'll never forget. He made up half of my life and brought so much entertainment and joy. Solo is a legend outside of GTA as well. All of his struggles that he went through growing up have shaped him into an amazing person. We love you Solo! ❤
Have you seen the GTA 5 age rating? It's no wonder that games have become so casual and dumb, because children play them. And Rockstar knows that most of the adult game is about youngsters.

Dead Space 2’s marketing even embraced that head on with the Your Mom’s Gonna Hate It campaign back in 2011. Children demographics never affected the way games were written back in the day. What is changing it are the times. Nowadays, people getting offended over the littlest things.
I like how Solo humanizes rockstar games we offten forget that the end of the day most people at rockstar are just passionate people and i think the corprate shit is just a side effect of being so big and having to please share holders
This was a great interview. Solo seems like a very likeable guy. Had no idea he is as old as he is. He played a 20-something year old South Central dude quite well. Kind of sad to see him a little down on Steven at the moment, though I can understand why he feels the way that he does about him. Then again, I can also understand Steven's point of view, as I get the impression that he seems to want to be known for things other than being Trevor. He's done other projects since GTA 5, like The Walking Dead, Breaking Bad, movies, commercials, and other TV shows, and because the dude's a true blue working actor, I think he just wants recognition for those other projects too. He could probably do a little bit better job of hiding the annoyance of people seeing him as Trevor all the time. But, as I said, I can understand Solo's point of view as well. Trevor has been Steven's most iconic and lauded character to date, and respect should be given both to Rockstar for giving him the opportunity to play the character and putting his career on an upward trajectory, as well as the fans who clearly love and appreciate the work that he did with that character even after 10 years. I hope he can come to terms with that conflict within himself, as I'd love to see the three of them (him, Solo, and Ned) making appearances together in the future, as they truly seemed to click so well back in the day when all three were together.

I think alot more would respect him if he made even like 1 post on a social platform about how hes thankful for all the following and opportunities the fans gave him but wants to be known for something else than just a crazy psychopath. The way hes handled the situation just feels like he isn't grateful about everything he gained from rockstar and fans of gta 5 due to him just throwing it all under the rug and not even mentioning gta. Thats also why I think Shawn got a little heated because he thought back on all the opportunities and love that was shown to him over the past 10 years and Steven just ignoring most of it. I 100% see Steven's POV but I just think he needs to say what he thinks straight instead of just ghosting the people who made him what he is today

Great to see that Solo and Ned are pretty great people as well as actors, shame that Steven hasn't embraced Trevor as much as he should but I can sorta understand his view a little. Can't wait to see how Jason and Lucias actors are gonna be like.
I can understand why Steven Ogg resents being inexorably associated with a video game character, especially since he doesn't play video games. I would imagine that he just wants to be acknowledged for his talent as an actor, and recognized for all his work. But I don't think he understands that there's a vast world of people who are far more likely to buy and play a video game, or even to watch videos of someone else playing video games, than to watch a movie. Such people really appreciate the way that he played the role of Trevor. Personally, I would hate a guy like Trevor, but Steven Ogg's portrayal of that character made me love Trevor.
It's such a shame Steven has this dumb anger against Trevor. Ned is super cool with GTA, Shawn too, Lamar's VA is also so cool, even Lester's. Such Shame Steven just isn't, would be so cool to have something with all these dudes togheter. Also, does anyone know what's the relation between Niko Bellic's VA and the game? Does he like to be part of the GTA franchise? I would also love to the GTA 5 cast and Niko's VA togheter
I know this comment is a few weeks old, but Michael Hollick who was Niko hasn't been involved since the main game of GTA IV. He didn't record any lines for lost and the damned and Ballad of gay Tony. He had an issue with his pay, but it was more of a Royalty issue (which his contract had none), however the dispute was with his acting union and not Rockstar. He outright said so, but I don't think they've been in contact since GTA IV overall.
I don't have a problem with Steven Ogg. He did a lot of fan service with the character of Trevor. He even played the character in a fan film. He's done many interviews and fan conventions over the course of the game's lifespan. He probably wants to move on from that. It's been 10 years. Credit to Franklin and Michael actors who have embraced the roles and community. They admit they get the same questions over and over about GTA. They embrace it, so can handle it differently. Mr Ogg wants to move on and be a serious actor, so have to respect that. If you want to see Trevor, just play GTA 5.
its been 10 years of being relevant only as trevor for him thats what's bothering him he did well in the walking dead and better call saul, excellent even, but he's far more impactful as trevor he has no other "hit" other than gta that's why he's mad and that's entirely his problem

Great to see that Solo and Ned are pretty great people as well as actors, shame that Steven hasn't embraced Trevor as much as he should but I can sorta understand his view a little.

I can understand why Steven Ogg resents being inexorably associated with a video game character, especially since he doesn't play video games. I would imagine that he just wants to be acknowledged for his talent as an actor, and recognized for all his work. But I don't think he understands that there's a vast world of people who are far more likely to buy and play a video game, or even to watch videos of someone else playing video games, than to watch a movie. Such people really appreciate the way that he played the role of Trevor. Personally, I would hate a guy like Trevor, but Steven Ogg's portrayal of that character made me love Trevor.

It's such a shame Steven has this dumb anger against Trevor. Ned is super cool with GTA, Shawn too, Lamar's VA is also so cool, even Lester's. Such Shame Steven just isn't, would be so cool to have something with all these dudes togheter.
Also, does anyone know what's the relation between Niko Bellic's VA and the game? Does he like to be part of the GTA franchise? I would also love to the GTA 5 cast and Niko's VA togheter
I know this comment is a few weeks old, but Michael Hollick who was Niko hasn't been involved since the main game of GTA IV. He didn't record any lines for lost and the damned and Ballad of gay Tony. He had an issue with his pay, but it was more of a Royalty issue (which his contract had none), however the dispute was with his acting union and not Rockstar. He outright said so, but I don't think they've been in contact since GTA IV overall.

I don't have a problem with Steven Ogg. He did a lot of fan service with the character of Trevor. He even played the character in a fan film. He's done many interviews and fan conventions over the course of the game's lifespan. He probably wants to move on from that. It's been 10 years. Credit to Franklin and Michael actors who have embraced the roles and community. They admit they get the same questions over and over about GTA. They embrace it, so can handle it differently. Mr Ogg wants to move on and be a serious actor, so have to respect that. If you want to see Trevor, just play GTA 5.
