Gorochu could be another evolve version of pikachu. Gen 1 should had three stage pokemon that evolve when they reach a certain level, then another one where you had to trade. When i was young, i would think of a electric type that was a spark of electricity or wires or cable to be a 3 stage type They could do an Eevee type but it evolve depending on region it goes to.
I really hope Gen 10 takes the chance to retcon a lot of Pokemon stats and mechanics, particularly those that were made prior to the new age of gaming that cant keep up with the power creep. A good way i think they can do this is by making All Baby Pokemon "Pre Evolutuons" and not Base Mon. Pichu (PreVo) -> Pikachu (Base) -> Raichu -> (1st Stage) -> Gorochu (2nd Stage) Charmander (base) -> Charmeleon (1st) -> Charizard (2nd) -> Charizard X/Y (Mega) The way Mega's aren't a 4th Evo, Babies arent a Base Stage pokemon. Evidence for this can be the amount of Baby Pokemon that require items to breed. A Munchlax wont always hatch from a Snorlax unless its holding an incense. Munchlax is a PreEvolution. This of course makes Snorlax a base stage mon and thus leaves room for evolutions. Pikachu, Jigglypuff, and Clefairy (base stage) are not on the same level as Charmeleon, Gabite, and Vibrava. (1st stage) The TCG kinda sees it like this too already.
Pikachu -> Goruchu: Hatred, Dusk Stone, own 2 Raichu, 2 Dark types on team. BST 600 Ability: Narukami - reduces damage from Ground and fairy moves, removes one layer of Electric type immunity from opponents when attacking. Hidden Ability: Intimidate Special move: Thunder Driver - 100/95 phys. may make the opponent flinch. Special move 2: Thunder Drum - electric type rollout or bullet seed. hits opponents lowest defense stat. Marowak -> Marothrasher/Guardia {Ground/Ghost}/ and an Alolan form or something for its Hawaiian cousin. maybe invest an "Echo Stone" or "Spectral Stone" , or with hatred at night.
