    My friend told me to try and get my knees to touch my chin and that really helped. Another thing that really helped me was trying to make my Ollie last as long as possible. By that I mean, a short quick Ollie might not be that high, but if you extend the length of timing in the drag of the front foot that can really help.

    • @andomare
      @andomare 7 років тому +8

      I noticed that if you imagine that your knees go higher than your shoulders, you can ollie even higher. And what helped me the most, when I struggle to ollie over or onto an obstacle, I imagine that its about 20 cm higher than it really is, as if there was a water bottle standing on it.

    Thanks for the tips. I can ollie over those ball rock that they put outside of Target lol

    What helped me was putting more weight on my front foot before I popped. It helps me level out the board more and it gets my back trucks over the obstacle.

    • @James-ip5gz
      @James-ip5gz 5 років тому +8

      I increased my Ollie height from 16" to 19" using this technique. It's all about boning your ollie to get your back trucks over the obstacle and you do that by leaning forward.

    This is killin' Braille skate support. keep up the great work!

      braille isn't even a learn to skate channel, it's for kids who like skating but think it's too hard, so they can't relate to it.

    • @kanescrimes4848
      @kanescrimes4848 7 років тому

      Yeah it is. It's called BRAILLE SKATE SUPPORT, it's just a shitty one, "for kids who like skating but think it's too hard, so they can't relate to it" just like you said. IMO all "learn to skate channels/post's" are kinda lame, and the kids that "NEED" them are the demographic you mentioned in your previous comment. If you NEED any "how to skate" videos, then you shouldn't skate. A huge part of being a skater is being able to figure things your own way on your own terms.Not following suit like a f'n hockey/baseball team

    • @anthonygonsalves7020
      @anthonygonsalves7020 7 років тому +8

      *sigh*
      1) Vasectomy Fail, let's be 100% real and 0% offensive. Braille is a legit skate channel with plenty of learn-to-skate support.
      2) Can't we have one great video without the mentioning of Braille??

    • @kanescrimes4848
      @kanescrimes4848 7 років тому +1

      Nope! Seeing as how I'm a volunteer at our local youth center, and spend my summers(6) teaching kids how to skate, I have way too much experience in this area not to comment. If my comment makes even one kid, watch these trick videos instead of "skate support" then I've accomplished my task...which is to give the kids reason to branch beyond the popular and maybe get a better handle on skating. Bottom line: Brallie's skate support sucks for the kids. I know first hand and have had to deal with kids not fully understanding because of it. Kinda of like how your missing the point now, and are focusing on the most negative aspect of said comment(which is on you) "SKATE SUPPORT SUCKS"...If I had only typed that, then your reply might be relevant. Right now your sounding like the type that thinks all kids should get a trophy. Your not even sure how that's an insult to you huh?

    • @kanescrimes4848
      @kanescrimes4848 7 років тому

      LOL... News flash genius. The world is filled with offensive things and as soon as you put effort into believing otherwise, you become a puppet...a one dimensional puppet. 100% real would obviously indicate a portion of offensiveness dumbass...oh shit, your a kid aren't you? I'm sorry. I thought you were just a stupid adult, but no adult has a view scope THAT narrow. How's that for offensive? Get used to it and you'll do fine in life.

    i figured out that skating wider boards for extended amounts of time then going to my normal size helps me train my legs. i went from skating an 8.8 back to an 8.0 and i can ollie up 4 sets now.

      Same bro. Used to skate 7.5-7.75 and then skated an 8.25 for a while and the difference was staggering when I switched back to a lighter smaller shape. Harder to catch flip tricks still tho.

      Seanlhy I find it's just practice and trying to push your front foot forward once it hits the nose if that makes sense.

    • @anthonygonsalves7020
      @anthonygonsalves7020 7 років тому

      I agree with +Overthehills. You really need to envision yourself doing it and feel it. Actively push your front foot forward. Actively bring your back knee as far up as possible. Find a balance of when to do each step. Remember, your front foot is as high up as the front of your board will get. Pushing it forward will get that forward motion, however, your back foot going higher will allow the board to have that angle.

      SUDDEN Luke you have to press down farther on your tail so you have to slide up more vertically, other than weight there is no disadvantage

    • @runswimplayball
      @runswimplayball 5 років тому +4

      Easy dude first stand hold onto something. Step 2 put your whole foot on the board preferably near middle. A high kickflip is all in the backfoot. Pop and as you rise bring your knees to your chest and jump as high as you can now ninja kick up and bring your back foot to your ass. Then land feet close together.

      Learn 50-50s and manuals. You should be able to get onto the ledge in the correct position if you know both of these. A tip i can give you is to lean back, that was my main problem, other than that just practice and youll get it man ;)

    • @steveervinck
      @steveervinck 6 років тому

      yea man best way to put it is there already. if you can ollie manual, you can front 5-0. practice a bunch first just on a curb getting into it slow, then you got it.

    Every time I try to ollie my feet want to come off the board. It feels like there's no grip. My board also wants to flip. My skating sucks because I still struggle with ollies. This just might be a huge problem with my shoes, though.
