Something about seeing the ground during turbulence makes me a lot calmer. When you're up so high I feel like turbulence can really make your imagination wander
Ah, Toronto. I can't believe it's been 11 years since I went there for a weekend to see Megadeth on tour. Crammed a lot of sight seeing into a handful of days including a very enjoyable Niagara Falls and vineyard tour.
When living in Northern Indiana, my spouse and I would take weekend trips to Detroit, Michigan and across to Windsor, Ontario. That was way before the casinos and such were there. Beautiful town and surrounding area! Another fun trip was the circle drive around Lake Superior! Had fun camping and met great people along the way. Stayed in Wawa one night! So fun traveling outside our comfort zones! Enjoy!
Welcome to Canada Adam! I live not far from Toronto in a small town! Do not drive in downtown Toronto, its a nightmare. There is sooo much to see and do in Toronto. The Distillery District is gorgeous at night.
I did a trip recently with JSX airlines on a small plane like this. Best experience ever…it was almost like having a private jet to myself for only $199
A little bit of aviation trivia: the CRJ’s used by Delta are owned and operated by Republic Airlines which is headquartered in Indianapolis, home of the Indy 500. That’s why the controllers will refer to them as”Brickyard ”. It pays homage to their hometown’s race track nickname. Pretty cool!
When you go international next year, to Europe, you'll have your own itinerary of course, but you could fly direct from Orlando to Dublin on Aer Lingus, explore Ireland, and then fly from Dublin to UK, short hop and from there anywhere you like. The possibilities are endless.
Have fun in Canada. I was a youngster when we crossed the border at Niagara Falls. I looked up info about Yonge Street. It is the longest in the world at 34 miles long. It is a National Historic Site and Guinness Book of Records entry.
The street you went over during your turn before approach was Yonge St. Longest street in the world apparently! If you plan to take the Subway, you can get a daypass, might be cheaper if youre doing more than trips in a day. If you do the CN Tower then sometimes have a deal for Bluejay ticket holders and/or the Aquarium as an add on. Don't forget about Canada's Wonderland! More coasters than Cedar Point! If you're in downtown, when you're headed back to the airport, you should take the UP Express. The website is of the same name. UA-cam deleted my comment when I put it before, it is only $12.35 one way.
You NEVER put your passport in your luggage. It stays with you the whole time when you are traveling. There are travel bags made for passports that can be worn around your neck and tucked under your shirt, or other kinds. in your case, you have your backpack which never leaves you.
Welcome to Toronto, lots to see and do while you are here. Enjoy ! and it is about 1 1/2 hrs to Niagara Falls. You have to learn to say Eh ! In Canada :)
I might be in Toronto soon hanging out with geddy lee from rush and playing music with him and Alex lifeson. Don't know yet but might be. I'm an Indiana boy.
Detroit is a Delta hub so thats why you have to connect. Air Canada would have had your direct flight. Welcome to Toronto! Im 45 minutes east or you in Oshawa 😊
I took VIA rail to Toronto as a kid. We lived in suburban Detroit at the time. I think we parked in Windsor and picked the train up there. It was a fun travel experience!
Welcome to 🇨🇦, I thought Scott on Tap would be there to pick you up. Try and get up to Goderich area near Lake Huron. It’s the area the Disney Family Immigrated from Ireland. Walt’s Dad was born in Bluevale
Only if there’s no traffic - which there is ALWAYS traffic😂. I was in Niagara Falls beginning of July and drove to TO for a Blue Jays game. It took us 3 HOURS to get there 😩
Something neat, at 17:19 you can hear the pilot disconnect the autopilot. The warning is faint but you can hear the "whoop whoop whoop" towards the front.
The best way I’ve found to get currency while international is using an ATM. The airport currency exchange fees are significantly more. May be something to look into for future travel. 😊
This is how I go visit my cousin in Canada. I fly there because it's so much easier going through customs. Can't deal with the officers at the land borders driving. Some are so rude on a power trip.
long ago had an issue were my folks and myself were going from Albany, NY to Detroit and it was going to be 9 hours with a 4-hour layover in Atlanta and we ended up driving and got there faster then others who flew. Used the tickets to flow to some where else.
The flight into Toronto, you were ✈️ing my airline. The 900 is a small aircraft. When I had a long lay-over in Toronto, I met up with Scott. Weather has been very bumpy causing a lot of turbulence.
@@TheDailyWoo yes and also if you need a restaurant recommendation; I highly recommend you go to Jack Astor's restaurant. The Asian Wonton Nachos are phenomenal and a must-have for a meal.
The Fodor or Lonely Planet travel planning books are really helpful if you’re traveling internationally. Highly recommend to read up before your trips.
There are parts of PIT airport I do not much go into. The airport yesterday due to my gastroperisis acting up. Happy you got to Toronto & you’ll love it. I was there the day it opened which I think was 1992.
Yes Toronto, the 4th. largest city in North America behind Mexico City, New York, & Los Angeles........Toronto is also known as the GTA and growing like crazy
So cool I was in Detroit yesterday! I’m from SC and my buddy had to drive up there to pick a vehicle up and I rode with him so I could check Michigan off my list. 45 down 5 to go! Been Watching your videos everyday since the van days! Safe travels!
If you fly internationally, you can let the agent at customs in the US (when you return back to the US) know that you want to sign up for Global Entry/PreCheck and they can helo you sign up.
I had to pause the video of your hotel and told my wife to look at the TV. She was like, "Are you serious!". You were right by our house, lol. Small world! Travel safe.
Yeah, that Fraley's Robot Repair looks really cool. It reminds me of something you would find at a Meow Wolf attraction. Also, Rite Aid headquarters are in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania, which is 200 miles from Pittsburgh. Most likely why there is one in the airport.
Some rough air up there Adam. Canada looks very Clean and Nicely laid out from the air. I've never been on a Small Craft, not yet anyway. The Robot Repair Shop looked Epic, Thank You for showing us that !
Every time that I fly into Toronto Pearson International Airport, I always have Rush's "YYZ" playing in my head. I'm looking forward to your adventures in Canada. Finally, some international videos from Adam the Woo! I enjoy all of your other travel videos but the ones about Florida and Southern California have become a little repetitive. I still like them but a change of pace is nice too.
I am jealous other than the small plane. You flying to my home. I haven’t been back in a year now. I’m from Kitchener. An hour from Toronto. I live in California now. I miss my home.
This pretty much applies to any country: Get a local sim for calls/sms/data if you're staying a week or longer. If less than a week see if your cell phone plans do Wi-Fi calling. Some cell phone carriers allow Wi-Fi calling aboard, and it works like a local US number and doesn't cost extra when traveling internationally. Check your plan. Look at other places beyond the airport for currency exchange, sometimes you get a better deal.
As a frequent vistor to toronto, You do not need a car or really need to uber around. Just take public transit to union station and from there you can get just about anyone around the city for very cheap. They also have a airport train that takes you from union all the way to the airport for like 12 CAD which is around 7 USD
Mr. Adam, Never put your passport in your check bad!!! That’s a sure fire way to get it lost and you stuck in limbo!!! I’m enjoying all the new content!! Thanks and have a Great Day!!!
All those taxe and fee crossing the border by plane, while you re so close to Toronto, I would have driven round-trip. Buffalo is what 3 hrs or so, cross at the Peace Bridge and take the QEW all the way to Toronto.
I remember my experience in Pittsburgh airport. It's really stuck in the late 80's early 90s design wise. When I was leaving Pittsburgh the line for security was almost to the parking garage they had to open another check point where you had to go around the airport to get to it. That said Pittsburgh is a great city and I was in town to see a Penguins game and to cross off PPG Paints Arena off my list of NHL arenas.
How is it in Toronto, Canada 🇨🇦? Because I am planning to go on a vacation or trip to Vancouver, Canada 🇨🇦 which is in the west coast. How good are these small Delta planes?
Never put your passport in your luggage; it should always be on you. It should also always be on your person when you are out and about in a foreign country.
Hit some bad turbulence one time flying from Vegas to Atlanta and two of the flight attendants had to get medical attention after we landed it was that bad and I thought we were all gonna die that day. Glad you made it there safe and sound.
Hi Adam, I sometimes watch a couple of tll tubers from Toronto l. One does travel to other countries. And a couple more just around Toronto. It gets boring just walking around and seeing the same places.. Hope you enjoy your time in Toronto. Look forward to seeing you and places you going to show us.
I'm from the Niagara area. Niagara Airbus does drop-offs / pick ups from private residences (and I'm assuming hotels) throughout the Niagara Region such as St.Catharines, Niagara Falls, Niagara-On-The-Lake, Fort Erie, etc. My only complaint with them is they can be very expensive! I know a regular person who pays for a private limo service to take her to the airport because it costs about the same as the airport. I prefer GO train/ UP services to the airport if sticking to a budget! Or recruit friends for airpirt drop off/ pickup. If you want to see one of the most beautiful small towns you've ever seen in your life I'd recommended Niagara-On-The-Lake. It has old-timey (Victorian)main street USA vibes but extremely well maintained. No doubt the kind of place Walt would admire! I agree with others when they say keep your passport on your person at all times! I dont think they would let you out of Toronto Pearson if you lost a passport in a bag, unfortunately! It is technically "international" travel even though many of Canadians cross the border frequently for dinner, shopping, travel etc. We are close neighbors but passports are very much required!
