There are so many abandoned properties in the 192/I-drive corridor it amazes me how many places went boom or bust in that area, and how few success stories there are. I guess that's why I like the Florida project so much.
As much as I love on site resorts. Places like these are needed for guests who just can't afford to stay on property. It's getting harder and harder to find decent places to stay that aren't on Universal's or Disney's grounds.

It’s very sad to see the property in that condition now. I still remember when it was the Hyatt, before they expended I4 and the 192 interchange it used to be easier to see the property from the interstate, and I still remember that there was an old Hyatt sign Probably dated to when the place opened that was still there at least into the 90s. I tried to check out the property one time but I think it was after it had closed as a Hyatt and before it opened as the Orlando Sun resort, and at the time the property was fenced off. I’m sad that I never got to see it in better condition.

I’m really glad you kept driving and didn’t get off your cart. You had a lot of spectators.

We stay at Vacation Village right next to this pretty regularly. It will be nice to see the area built up. We see cars over there all the time. It’s not surprising there are people living there.

You’re definitely fortunate enough to be able to document all that stuff. I would love to be down there to do the same thing sort of or I love to be down there but sort of would love to do the same thing, but it is interesting to watch how the stuff comes and goes, and I bet some stories

Would be a great filming location for a zombie apocalypse movie! I remember many years ago when it was a Hyatt we would eat at the restaurant there. Glad to hear it will FINALLY be turned into something good. Such prime property, it is hard to believe how long it has just sat there empty.

Man that vehicle of yours makes an obnoxious sound! 😂 Anyway it will be nice to see something new in place of that spooky abandoned hotel.

You are brave to be going in there. I saw the person walking through before I saw the comments and thought you may have trouble. Luckily you didn’t. I guess you saw them cause you picked up speed after it. I really hope they tear that place down. I am surprised it is still standing considering what it has turned into.

I don’t think it will impact old town. Looks like two totally seperate things from what I’m reading. If anything I’m hoping it helps revitalize that little stretch of Hwy 192

@@TheDailyWoo Seems more upscale so hopefully won’t 😊 I’d love to see the 192 I grew up on return to some of its former glory. I miss the kitschy vibe & all the zany places that used to exist along that HWY.
