- Solar Color Dust... ILY TAD. I used one of their Hue Chromic Solar Dyes to dye YARN 😳 I wasn't sure if this would work at all... but I dyed it & used it to tuft a COLOR CHANGING RUG!! The dye says it changes from pink to blue in sunlight & OMG!!! So of course I made a DREAMY SPACE themed rug so the SKY would change from pink to blue 🥹 💙 💖 This is... one of...... If you're going to dye more yarn, you should unwind your skeins into more open circle-y hanks (though you'll need to weave some holding yarn through the loops to keep it from tangling). You'll be able to see all of the yarn more easily and tell whether it's all been dyed and it will dry SO much more quickly! My favorite yarn dyer on UA-cam is Rebecca from ChemKnits, and I think checking out a couple of her videos would help. Most of the time she dyes wool-based yarns, but she has done several videos on cotton yarn. The color changing dye you're using is really different, so it's really cool that it worked as well as it did!

I know the color changing yarn was the inspiration but before you filled it in all I could think about is how awesome the outer clouds, stars, and moon would be surrounding a mirror. Like how you did the skeleton hand mirrors.
I absolutely love this! Color changing or not, it’s gorgeous. All it needed was a little glow in the dark around the stars and moon.

This is beautiful and so cute! I love the entire rug even without the color changing, and then having that makes it even better. I love how it changes scattered across the rug in a gradual way where at first you can't tell it's changing and then somehow it's the other color fully... that reminds me of the changing sky so much that it's perfect

THIS IS AMAZING! So clever ❤ two things I think will help your rugs look even better/save time- the little threads that hang down on the back after you’ve tufted a line you can just pull if you’re using cut pile! You don’t need to use your clipper to shave them off.
And I’ve found if you cut with scissors/use smaller clipper to shape each star for example, they will look super crisp once you tuft your next colour up against them! Saves time in carving out all the individual elements when you’re finished tufting 😅

In my experience it’s a lot easier to get the smaller details sharper and more precise if you wait til after you’ve filled in most of the big blocks of color.

I love my Stanwood winder! One tip - if you're noticing the arm bouncing as you wind, there is a little black rubber guy that you can slide to the end to help stabilize
