@@JennaPhipps
Me too. Lol
P
Same 😄
My mind: make a rug
Me: *lying on bed all day*
and here’s me doing both at 4 am
This is literally me with everything
Exactly
Today I thought about painting my nails, sewing, reading, doing my makeup, drawing, knitting, playing guitar and making a rug. What did I do? I laid all day and watched youtube vidss
@@leidibugz did u ever end up doing those things 😂
Usually UA-cam videos diminish my ideas because it seems “to hard” but nope. This is something I actually feel like I can commit to thanks to this tutorial 🥺💖
I just received the gift of my great-great-great aunt's handmade punch rugs from the 1930s. They are still hard-wearing, reversible, and not glued down at the back. This art medium is INCREDIBLE.
You did such a great job 😁✌🏿
THANK YOU!! You’re channel helped soooo much! So thank you!
is there literally ANYTHING you can't do! WOWIEEEE 👏🏼
You neeeed to make one 😍 they are soooo fun and easy
The only thing she can’t do is not be amazing at everything
Make a rug
You can leave the rug on the frame and hang it on the wall just go look real cute
OOOOO, such a good idea!
@@JennaPhipps yes it is I am going to try to make one
@@victoriawalker3891 ooo imagine the dust it would collect if just hanging, youd have to beat the shite out of it every once in a while depending where you live/dust in the air. its so dusty where i live so :T
@@mee6703 I know it will be hard to clean it with sope
Is no one gonna talk about how her jacket matches so good with the rug? 😍 Love the results!
Beautiful, I am now 58 and did this when i was14..... Still have my old needle, BUT bought myself a new one. Love your work. God bless you.
The simplicity of this craft is TOO GOOD to miss out on. This may be my next fixation
I love how she wishes to have 100K this year on march 13th and already passed it on april 16th !! Great content, congrats!!
It’s literally almost doubled since you’ve commented. Crazy!
@@ItsCheyenneBitch now its 566k
@@makadoodledoo wow!
hiiii! someone may have suggested this already, but when stretching your fabric over the canvas, try stapling from the middle outward rather than starting from the ends. It may help you get it perfectly stretched faster! (source: i watched too much Baumgartner Restoration at one point)
Another fan of him here ! Guess watching long hours of art restoration was beneficial after all 😍
Honestly, when it was still on the frame, the back looked like a framed piece of art! I could totally see it just like that on the wall!
You've totally inspired me to try this. Your rug looks amazing.
Can you pleaseeeee talk about how you choose colors ? You really have an eye for it and I can’t figure it out. I love the colors you chose and they seem random but they work so well together
I'm not at all an expert but picking colors based on color theory will work wonders
@buggy627, you can use almost any colour combo, as long as you stick to either cool colours (colours that have blue undertones) or warm colours (with yellow undertones). Just google cool or warm colours and you'll find a chart.
also, googling color palettes makes it easy to choose from combos that have already been curated!
Oh I bet it’s so satisfying to punch the yarn through. Was just thinking about what I’m going to do with all the acrylic yarn I have lying around. This is perfect
OH MY GOD I WATCHED THIS HIGH AND THE PART WHERE YOU DEMAND ME TO ENJOY YOU PUNCHING FOR 10 SECONDS BECAUSE IT TOOK YOU 7 HOURS WAS EVERYTHING QUEEN.
😂😂😂
Omfg I am high right now and watching this video and then I am reading this comment
You can put non slip rubber on the back portion of the rug to cover it. Love your rug tutorial.
How can one have such a cool aesthetic 😍
😭❤️
I do punch needle patches with a much smaller needle. It is one of my favorite pass times. It is very relaxing
I feel like you could definitely use like a bias tape around the edges to finish them off in a contrasting color and that would be super cute too!
I did not come here thinking I wanted to make a rug. And now, of course, I do. What magic is this?! 💖
I watched punch needling earlier in the year then forgot about, and then this popped back up and reignited my motivation to do so. Thank you 🥺
But seriously though, everything you touch turns into a beautiful piece of art 😭❤
when i was in grade school, we used to have this rug making project but we used plastic sack yo punch in yards with this metal bronze colored puncher...but now the innovation is really really amazing
I am SO glad I found this video. I have been looking for a non machine version video of making a rug for so long, because I knew it had to be done somehow before that, but I was starting to think it wasn't possible. Thank you!!!
The intro alone make me like the video
I love your rug! I remember when you thrifted that jacket... looks cute! Love you Jenna ❤️
Thank you so much for making tufting feels accessible, Love your work !!!
Literally woke up with a horrible anxiety attack. Your video was so helpful for me to calm down. You’re a special calm soul! And now I wanna make a rug!! Lol that is beautiful !!!
You're so talented and inspiring 💕 thank you so much for sharing your crafty adventures with us
i love how your nails and top match the rug
Btw, the best reason to glue is if anything snags a loop it will pull out many stitches. Especially with a dog laying on it, one little claw snag means a mess.
loved how approachable you made it feel....loved it.
I don't think you could ever be boring! You are lovely and so wonderful! Thank you for this video. I could have watched you make the whole rug in fast speed. 👍🌞🤗
When stapling a cloth to the frame if you staple the fabric to the outside edges of the frame rather than the front it is more stable working near the edges. Also if you start with one staple in the center of the side, then opposite center and then the other two centers. Work from the center to the corners working opposite sides.
you did amazing you motivated me to buy the materials and start, mine didn’t come out as perfect but i’m definitely excited to create more ! (:
I am just starting out with rug making just waiting for everything to come. your rug looks amazing can't wait to get started ❤
I can just hear the sighs of exasperation when I bring home some rug making supplies. Love your rug!
Wow. Tufting guns and the pokey needle thing are soooooo much faster than rug hooking. I've only done hooking and its take hours and hours and days and days to do each individual strand by hand
Wow. So glad I found you and your art. Never realised a rug would be so easy and relaxing at the same time. It is lovely and super cosy on you toes. No doubt it will be taken over by your fur babies too.
The rug! the nails! those mirrors! so groovy and cute
turned out so dope! I'm convinced I need to make some rugs now.
the finishing looks so beautiful!
Love how concise and entertaining this was your design was so cute
I hope your happy after seeing you needle punch and loving your process I had to buy a small kit to try it out. Crochet is sitting all alone why I learn and watch every UA-cam. I guess I’ll say thank you I have the right to take it back if I can’t do it.
I did a kit as a teen for my grandma! We added a canvas/webbing edge around the perimeter of the back but I like your method better! I have my granddaughter the purple rose one I made my grandma and my grandson was kinda disappointed I didn’t have one for him! Now I am motivated! Thanks!
That's beautiful well done. I love it thanks for a lovely tutorial x 🥰👏
The rug is perfectly matching with her sweeter
I need to make this as a present for my friend’s birthday 😍
YOUR NAILS!!!!!!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Loved your last touch to the edges 🌸
I’m not sure if anyone else has said this or not but for future reference, like if you wanna buy more of those ‘thick needles’ they’re called quite a few things, ‘darning needles’ ‘big eye needles’ and ‘yarn needles’ are the most common names for them, and they come in different sizes. They sell both metal and plastic ones but the metal ones are better quality and not much more expensive- they’re very cheap though.
i love it! the design is so prettyyy and now i really want to make a rug too
this definitely helps if you are new to tufting guns & wanna get started making things before you master the gun!
I just discovered your videos and I love It, also I showed this to my grandma and she said "what a beautiful things she does"🤗💗
If you don't glue the back, you're going to be doing that trimming step every other week. Gotta glue the back. Preferably with hot glue. To a marine-grade secondary backing.
that is a literal work of art
this is such a great and thorough tutorial! thank youuu, and great job!!
*Matching your clothing with your art project is the next level in life I am aspired to get to* 🧡 💛 💚 💙 💜
oh this feels like the perfect project to use up yarn ends and yarn i don't love for crochet/knit wearable pieces.
Get you a yarn winder so you can do center pulls of the yarn so you don’t have to stop and unravel the yarn all the time!!
Looove your design!
Oh wow! Your rug is so lovely! I wish I would have found your channel before I bought my tufting gun & built a frame. 🤦🏼♀️ I’m about to start drawing a design on the fabric, and I’ll be using your free form, flowy design for inspiration. Thanks for sharing your experience with everyone, and I can’t wait to watch more of your videos. ✌🏼💜🛼
i found your channel a few weeks ago and i’m obsessed ahh !!
You are great. Love you and your ideas.
Been wanting to do this for months, finally got around to ordering monks cloth as I couldn't find anywhere that I could easily get it but when you said Amazon it clicked. Now I gotta get the yarn, as I already have the tool, and a frame
This is my first time seeing this lady and I wanted to cry at the beautiful intro
the design is amazingg
I would love to see you make a crazy design on a huge one. You did absolutely amazing on your first try on this one
This is actually the best tutorial i have seen for punch rugging so far, even from experts
Your rug turned out great!! I love the colours you chose
i've had a punch needle sitting in my etsy cart for months..! i must purchase.
Completely fabulous! ❤
My grandma taught me this eons ago. She made all sorts of beautiful rugs. I tried it back then and it drove me crazy because I kept punching too big of holes through. That half finished basket of kittens rug stayed in my closet for years . 🤣I might try it again since I have a little more patience these days .
Good evening! I love the colours you have used here!!! 💙💙 this might be my next lockdown project
subscribed, liked, turned on notifs literally like 5 minutes in cause i just think you’re so genuine and i really enjoyed watching!!! i’m a crochet kind of girl but punch needle has got me intrigued. im def gonna give it a try!! thanks for providing a broken down tutorial. you did great!!! 😍😍😍😍
Im litterally binge watching ur videos, i love ur aesthetic
Such a perfect rug - I love your design. I now need to finally pull out the punch needle i’ve been too scared to try 😂
Youre so funny and sympathetic! I loved watching the video and I love your style ♥️
I loved this video so much!!! I'm so inspired to make my own rug since I'm moving apartments soon!!
Now I know how my bathroom rug was made. Definitely gonna try this. Thank you.
So satisfied to watch you make it
I do have an exam next week but i know for surrre what im gonna be doing this whole summer, thank you so much !

You're literally gonna make me make a rug!!!! Ah loved it Jenna 🤩❤
I have to try this, omg. I’m amazed at how easy this was for you. I hope it is for me too lol. Thanks for the inspo! ✨
Definitely something I need to try. Great job!
I never thought I can make a rug by myself 😳
I gonna spend all my money and buy all this stuff for diy💛
Omg TYSM! I always really wanted to make a rug, but didn’t wanna buy such an expensive rug gun! I’m very thankful! 💕💕💕
Beautiful job, but a recommendation would be to use carpet tacks instead of staples that way you can just take your monks cloth right off
Great piece! Thanks for the post. Definitely inspired me to make my own!
The fact that u reached 100k in like 1 month since this video!! Ahh! Immaculate 🙌🙌
Thanks! That was fun and interesting, too. I think I could make a rug now!
I discovered your channel trough your room makeover video and now I love watching your videos! :)
Yay! Thank you!
This is the best tutorial that I have seen. Thank you!!
