- A Miami-Dade firefighter responded to his own home Tuesday in Homestead while on duty and found his wife dead inside a bedroom, a GoFundMe page that was created for the husband stated.
How dose a fire fighter not have smoke alarms in his home with his disabled wife ??? 🤦🤔

My ex is a firefighter, they know exactly how to make a fire look like an accident.

If there is an investigation why were the firefighters removing trash bags of items from the house? Why are you promoting a good fund me since this is being investigated?

He hasn't been charged yet because he was at work when the fired happened, but who knows firemen know the tricks on how to start a slow burning fire so maybe it got worse slowly, would like to know what time his shift started and what time fire started....and why no fire alarm went off....maybe she was dead before the fire even started....hopefully they do an in depth investigation....

Wow! What the odds that a firefighter lost a loved one due to fire. However, looks suspicious and too coincidental. I hope the investigation has occurred and the truth what happened is found. Too often these cases go missing and overlooked. People just don't care and brush these under rugs. 😥

Its not unheard of for arsonists to become firefighters.
You have to admit it DOES look suspicious. None of us are, or ever are likely to be, on the jury, so I think it’s fair to say it looks a little odd. Accusing him outright, no. Saying it’s suspicious, yes.

You can't blame people for being very suspicious of this fire. This firefighter as well as all of his firefighter buddies should know very well that when anyone dies in a fire there is going to be and investigation and the scene should not be tampered with. Having all of those firefighters rummaging through the house removing items which can be possible evidence and trampling all over the place seems extremely suspicious. If my beloved wife had just died in a fire in our house my first order of business would not be clearing the house of all evidence unless I was guilty of something.

Veteran here, trained people to fight fires, i can definitely say, we don’t think about it, but first thing is to stop drop low, if she was on a wheelchair,? That won’t happen, likely smoke killed her in a matter of minutes?🤷🏽♂️

Did the fire fighter have no comment? Did he get arrested or detained? Sounds like the case of the cop whos wife “locked herself” in his car on a hot day and died. All while he napped for hours and hours.

Firefighters very rarely make that much. Maybe if they've been there for years and it's in a place like NYC. But most make maybe half that.

Nah buddy they don't make that much in a year. In Florida a firefighter makes 40k annually while in North Carolina the state in which firefighters are paid the lowest is 33k. There are other states where firefighters are paid higher like New York 52k and New Hampshire 51k but not 100k.
We don’t know if there was life insurance either. The state covers a lot and she may need cremation after severe burns. This better be investigated fully because they protect their own

RIP to the woman who lost her life...I hope I am wrong, but their is something very wrong with this story....statistically around 100 firefighters are arrested for arson a year in the U.S. When the firefighter being interviewed tried to say that sometimes what happens in the field happens at home, it didnt seem natural....FIREFIGHTERS would no doubt be the most fire safe at home, keeping their family safe...I hope this guy didnt burn his wife alive. RIP

I have seen many fires and never have I seen firefighters taking out all the persons belongings and getting rid of them.

Prayers go out to family and friends of his wife. It sad with his skilled profession had their own loved one they lived with die from what they do for a living. Cory goes out to save lives daily so I know the pain he must be going through knowing that he could not save hers. I sure hope the city provides him mental health treatment because I believe it would be fair to say that he will need it at this point. If it was me, I would be seeking to end my life so if I could not save my wife from something I was highly skilled in. Please Miami Dade fire department, give Corry mental health treatment and please to the community, please support in prayers and donations to help cover funeral cost and prayers. If everyone helps Cory, I am positive, this all will help him mentally recover with seeing the love the overall Community is offering. Cory if you are reading this, as a former first responder from the safe county area (city of Surfside) , please know, you are in my prayers and thoughts. Love you brother, stay strong!
Wives die like this all the time. Quite often married to people who work for the fire Dept. Last case I remember, the husband was a fire investigator, ( oh, maybe not a good example, he killed her.) Then there was the case with the fire Chief, ( Damn he did it too!! ) Well, you get what I mean.
