    I'm guessing the new 6.8L motor will be a low deck, destroked, aluminum block version of the 7.3L Godzilla. This would reduce weight and make for a slightly smaller (height and width) motor. Being that the 7.3L gas is already produced at the Windsor plant, the new 6.8L could possibly go down the same assembly line and use many of the same parts.

      The 7.3 is already shorter and thinner the. The coyote.

      I think IF it happens it will be a destroked 7 3 most likely with a killer head/cam ect combo.

      The 6.8l is just destroked the deck height and heads are the same, just the crank and rods are different

    Hoping at least 550. I feel like that's reasonable and leaves room to tune up to 575 in succeeding years like they did in 11-14. Hopefully this will make chevy and dodge bring back their 7.0s

    I believe in this. The 6.8 will be in the upper end mustang and f150. This motor will be a beast.

      Ford is not putting a 6.8L pushrod in the Mustang. Especially when they have to meet all the emissions regulations and MPG target.

      @@Jimmyxsx where did you get that info from? If they approved the 7.3 for the super duty (a bigger engine) & approved the 6.4 for the challenger (A muscle car) why wouldn’t the Mustang get a larger engine option? Not to be a internet troll but I think we should wait & see what happens. This engine could’ve been approved back in 2016 under different Regulations

      @@YoungSentrell Evan J smith aka Reven Evan who has very good relationships with Ford engineers and was one of the first to know about the 7.3L said the 6.8L was fake. The union representative didnt know what he was talking about. Ford has been perfecting the DOHC to the point where a 5.0L is keeping up or beating larger engines like the 6.4L hemi.
      If anything Ford should make a larger displacement Coyote based engine. A5.7 or 6.0L Coyote would be a monster.

    I think it will be a bit more than 425hp on the F-150, my 2020 GMC AT4 with a 6.2 has 420 HP and 460 ft/lbs torque, i would think with the extra .6 displacement on another pushrod engine, it will be 460 or more, on the Mustang, the 2020 6.2 Corvette is 495HP and 470 ft/lbs torque, I would say 525 HP on the 6.8 stang.

    Its already been leaked for sometime. Its a destroked 7.3 Godzilla. Built for higher RPMs vs the High torque low RPM 7.3. Thats how they get it to perform.

    Exciting times, I remember if you got the good Bronco with the Winsor Motor. I have a Coyote 5.0, may consider buying a 6.8 Mustang. They should put one in the new Bronco and call it the "Glamis Edition" They would flat sell out in Southern California.

    • @pmurillo87
      @pmurillo87 3 роки тому +1

      Agreed but in general they should take that v6 out of that bronco and put a v8 like the ancestors of the past not a v6. We have our competitors slapping big v8s high hp engines and fords in other hand putting these v6 engines that making ford a joke....but now i feel that they seeing the competition leaning towards them so ford is now stepping it up, plus i feel the new ceo understands that not all of us consumers care much about the v6s ecoboost...so im excited and hoping to see a v8 in f150 coming soon lol and hopefully again in the raptor....

    • @michaeltabanao9014
      @michaeltabanao9014 3 роки тому

      @@pmurillo87 seems like Ford gets confused sometimes with the green trend to use smaller displacement motors with turbos. Which there is nothing like natural aspiration motors, hence reliability with larger motors. Ford is on their game right now, listening to what the people want, except for calling the electric e car a mustang. They need that portion of the market but branding important. Hopefully the 6.8 will be something like when the 5.0 first came out...

    6.8L ? I mean is it a 6.8L DOHC V8 ??? Because then damn it can make like 600 plus hp without any boost applied to it. DOHC V8's are more on the performance high rev side vs an OHV. But OHV's are smoother and more reliable V8's. So far the biggest liter DOHC N/A V8 is found in the Toyota Tundra (Maybe the Ford 7.3L but not sure if it is DOHC). But the Tundra is a 5.7L DOHC V8, and Toyota under-tuned the crap out of it. I have an 09 Tundra and I took off the computer crap and did minor ECU tune NOTHING mechanical besides a muffler delete, and the truck went from 381hp to 432hp and the torque is 503ft-lbs on a true dyno. I'm like blown away that Toyota limits the hell out of that 5.7L DOHC. So I would love to see what a 6.8L DOHC engine can make !!!!

    • @MikeSmith-ey7ku
      @MikeSmith-ey7ku 3 роки тому

      Its not dohc. It’s pushrods just like the 7.3 Godzilla that it’s based on. They are getting ridiculous power out of the 7.3 with very little work. Like 700hp

    I don’t believe it
    Ford has been pretty insistent on small turbocharged power trains
    Like the V6 in the raptor and the Ford GT
    Hell the F150 is getting a hybrid and even and electric powertrain
    so yeah I’ll believe it when I see it
