An introduction to "Cycling around the planet"
My name is Niels Jansen and I'm pursuing my dream of cycling around the planet. In March 2020, just before most of the world got into lockdowns and border closures in response to a spreading virus, I left home in the Netherlands and started cycling north. I cycled as far north as the road goes, to North Cape. The first part of my dream had become reality. But I kept on dreaming, and I kept on cycling. I'm now on my way from North Cape in Norway to Cape of Good Hope in South Africa.
An ordinary young guy going on the adventure of a lifetime. In my video series "Cycling around the planet" I show you what it's like to travel solo around the world on a bicycle. What the world looks like through the eyes of a lone wandering cyclist. The beautiful scenery, the empty roads, the amazing people, the animals, the joys of cycling. But also the moments of sadness and loneliness, the difficult times.
Filming a solo bicycle tour takes a lot of time, effort and dedication. But I love to share what I do and I hope you like following me and enjoy watching my videos.
