►Cliff climbing out of the earth: • Abandoned Train/Mining...
In this adventure I head down to the stomping grounds of Alan (Revenge of the Apocalypse) to explore some industrial ruins. What was first believed to be a mining company, turned out to be a concrete factory. We discovered an abandoned house that was used as offices which contained documents giving us more information. We probably spent a good 3hrs here as there was so much to see. It was literally a playground for adults. So come along with us as we explore this abandoned concrete factory. Enjoy
Please Note: Exploring Abandoned locations can be dangerous. I don't condone or encourage anyone to enter an Abandoned structure. Not only is safety a concern, but often times its illegal and when possible, i seek out permission. I simply go to document its history before it's gone and leave things the way I find them. I assume all the risks & responsibility in doing so. Please don't attempt to do this on your own.

Have you ever considered a helmet camera so you can have both hands free?
I knew right away what it was. My Grandfather worked at an old "gravel pit" in Columbus Ohio. They made concrete and sold it to local businesses. The material is old line stone mix for the concert. This is really so awesome to see and brings back memories of my Grandfather. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for commenting
The truck is a Ford around 1955 .. An easy way to tell the year is to look at the stop light lens if they are there and the date was usually on them back in those days!
The drum you called a trammel is actually a dryer drum. Rock and sand would be loaded into the upper end and a huge burner would fire through the drum heating and drying the contents as the drum rotated. The rock and gravel exits the lower end dry and is ready to be used in the "recipe" for making the concrete or asphalt in another section of the plant.
That walkway was nothing compared to that rail bridge. The one I’d crawl over but not walk across. But still to high for me. That was a splendid piece of equipment. Glorious stone lasts forever. That is a huge building.
My problem with heights is I feel like I want to jump off. Magnificent video. Ty
Jump off? 😲
I do so appreciate your videos. It is amazing the places you explore in that, all the homes, resorts and industries, people just walk away from trillions of dollars of equipment that took years to setup. All this waste needs documentation! Thank you
👍
I really like this exploration. The truck is about a 1955 Ford truck. To see the destruction and vandalism makes me sick. Always a good call not to give out location.
1956, wrap around windshield.
It's 54-56 Ford. 54 was the first year for the wing/vent windows to be rectangular. Before that, in that body style, the windshield was slanted back more and those wings were triangular. If you find one with that wrap around rear window, your in the money. I've only seen those in 56.
Great video. The length was awesome. Better then watching a movie.
Aww thanks.
Thanks JP for exploring that old drag line, i love seeing old equipment like that.
You're welcome
@@JPVideos81 Always remember, you are awesome JP. 👍👍👍
This reminds me of Columbia Brick Works in Graham Oregon. My friends and I used to spend hours there exploring, and building forts when we were kids. I guess it's all been torn down now😫. It was built in the 20s and abandoned in the 70s. I lived there in the mid 90s. There are a few pictures online, but nothing like it was when we were there. So much fun.
Hey Jay,I went up to the next level in that big building, there is a giant screen sifter up there that gets all the small rocks out of the sand. This was a sand plant IMO and may have served a concrete plant which usually have large towers shaped like cylinders :)
Yeah, you may be right. We just found lots of documents about concrete in the home so we assumed it was that.
Yaaay....ready and waiting :)..just sat down to rest awhile ( yard work) ....something fun to look forward to : )
Same!
I'm proud of ya Jay,you made it alot farther than i thought you would up that conveyor haha!!
Haha, if i was alone, i never would of stepped up there.
Wow, what a place ! My nerves would be shot at the top of that tower!!!
He was a brave man.
Great video JP, The place that kept on giving.👍what a awesome find.👏👏
Thanks for braving your fear of heights to take this footage for us!!! The views were spectacular!!! The drone footage at the beginning? BRILLIANT!!! Excellent video !!! It was thoroughly enjoyed. Thanks again, my friend. Can't wait for the next one!!! 😅😃😊👍💙💙💙
Thanks so much
@@JPVideos81 You are welcome!!! 😊💙💙💙
Isn't it amazing what is abandoned alongside the road? Great video 👍 Thanks JP
Agreed.
Awesome video & find. Love the stone walls and of course the truck. ❤ this vid
Knew you would
@@JPVideos81 what can I say, I like trucks 😁
The wooden structure would make an amazing house, I’d keep a lot of the original features, beams and the red brick, great video as per, thanks Jay
You're welcome
Oh no the earth swallowed up Cliff😂😂very cool place Jp, just caught the end of the live so I went back and watched it 👍👍
Another awesome explore. Gotta say, I wouldn't have climbed out on those walkways. My stomach was doing flip flops watching you guys, and I'm not afraid of heights.❤
I never thought l would enjoy content like this so much. I especially love your abandoned resort videos on Nevele Resort in the Catskills. Keep up the good work.
Thanks cynthia
An awesome adventure that I really enjoyed. Actually I enjoy longer videos when there's so much to see and discover. Always better when they're longer than too short. I may even watch this again. Thank You 😊
Thanks rhonda.
I watch these videos because they are an escape. No politics,no self centered celebrities, just exploring.Thanks.
Thanks so much for watching
The engine in that drag line is a 3-71 Detroit Diesel. A 3 cylinder 2 stroke diesel, commonly called a
"Screeming Jimmy "
Thanks for sharing
Understand the dislike of heights. My husband has no fear and laughs at my fear
Finally finished watching your awesome and cool video! I thought my data warning usage icon would be popping up. Really enjoyed your video! Keep up the great work.
Ty carla
very cool footage!.. amazing plant with a spooky element.. the photos after were really great, thanks for the experience
Without checking the whole place, looks like a blacktop plant with a concrete plant, not uncommon to see that big tube was a dryer for stone to mix with hot asphalt no water allowed-silos in background probably held different types of cement (powder) for concrete mix I was a redi mix driver for 20 years so I have a good idea of what your looking at.
Thanks for the info. I only recognized a few pieces of equipment.
I gotta go here love these places!!!
Hit it up man. Awesome place
I sent ya an email :)@@JPVideos81

I have thoroughly enjoyed this adventure.breathtaking views. Just as if i was there...thanks for the trip.
Ty mary
Fucking a right bitch
That is an aggregate dryer and what you said looks like railroad wheels are called trunions when it rotates it floats back and forth. I use to operyonw of those. A trumel is a totally different function but similar..
That old dragline is sweet. It was a 3-71 Detroit diesel in it. 3 cyl 2 stroke diesel. Looks like someone stole the blower off the side of the engine probably for a hotrod.
👍
I enjoyed the video and you did make me laugh all so I have to say the Drone footage was beautiful.
Thanks tracy
Hey J , just now watching your channel. This concrete plant was a Sand and Gravel Plant operation as well. Pretty neat find, especially with every thing there in equipment.
Another great video J I did get the notification but I didn’t make it back in time to see the live stream ☹️
I’m not all that sad because I have this great video to look at thank you for sharing and I will check out the other links that you mentioned 😀👍💕
Awesome
coool, i love finding old things and businesses, and finding out how they used to function, or how people used to live.
Sooo cool to see history first hand rather than someone else telling you how it was supposed to be.
Thanks 💙
I didn't know I was afraid of heights until I went up on a catwalk.
I was fine going up, even walking across the walk, but then I looked down 😯
BIG MISTAKE!
I froze!
My legs went to jelly.
I was never so scared in my life walking back across😟and down the steps! 😓
Oh! Great explore!!
P.S. my hubby works at a company that makes from smaller than 1" up to big boulders.
Including lime, and mansand.
I like my feet on solid ground.
Very awesome! Love the wood of the steps and door frames. In the house like business. Internet high five for the awesomeness you shared.
Thanks samantha.
Your welcome
Great video ! Thanks for getting to places that I would never get to see.
Amazing explore . You guys outdid yourselves this time.. ...In the building with the beautiful diamond air vents....I noticed that the huge cross beam timbers (21:47) were hand hewed ( not planed) . They would have used a special kind of ax called a " foot adze " to remove the bark and "square" the beam. It is a tedious , back breaking job...(The contractors explained the process to us when they built our log cabin ).. .... Loved the old rusty fuel truck..Seems like my Daddy always called the wooden board "step"by the door a "running " board.( Maybe he just made that name up..Lol. )..Did you notice at 1:13:10 the grate had been repaired...scary... Amazing footage , Jay . Thank you for including us in the adventure ( please stay safe). ..
Just saw in the replay of the chat stream that you noticed the ax cut timbers too...( I missed that ...must have been watching the vid ..lol : )
Thanks for the info and for watching it again.
love the house and that drone footage is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thank you for sharing with us!!!
You're welcome
It would have been cool to see it actually in use. Massive machinery.
I liked the stone wall with the bricks in the shape of diamonds, the truck, the house and the crane. The views are pretty great too. The Drone footage is amazing to watch. Everything else was neat to look at. Congrats on hitting 70,000 subscribers!
Thanks so much! It means alot to me to have your support.
Your very welcome. I really enjoy what you put out.
@@kshack3527 just curious, are you on fb?
I am on FB. But I rarely use it. Why do you ask?🙂
@@kshack3527 thought about adding you on there, but if you're barely on then nevermind lol.
What an amazing place! Can you imagine what it would've been like when it was operational? You really bring such a great variety of content to us with your vids - awesome work! I'm not bothered by heights, but walking on open grating is really hard - like you said, it messes with your mind. I even have trouble walking up stairs that have open risers! Thanks for another great explore.
You're welcome
This Is a great tour. !!! Loved it. Not sure if I could have climbed up as far as you did. I’m also scared of height
I was definitely going out of my comfort zone
I picked the wrong night to say I'm going to bed early! Great video! I kept thinking about what it might have been to work there, imagine having to run between all the sections on a regular basis? Oy! I've watched quite a few explorer videos, and it almost seems to be a requirement to have a fear of heights. Me, as long as I have something around me, I'm fine. Hang me off the end of a cable 100 ft up, you better not be standing under me..........
Wish i was better with heights. Give me an abandoned mine any day of the week.
Man Cliff! - You get into the tightest spots.
that is a ford truck
As always, I found myself entranced by your video! You give it your best! Thank you!!
I love all the women who are commenting and interested! Super cool. Great vid!
Wow! What an awesome location and video! I loved the long video. The drone footage was excellent!
Ty don
I just scanned comments for Bucyrus-Erie info. I didn't see any so here goes. Bucyrus (Byoo-SI-rus) Erie was a surface and underground mining equipment manufacturing company. They could still exist. I know they mad a lot of draglines for coal. I know the video is old, but new to me.
That is a low ceiling JP, im 6 feet tall my self. So i could not fit in that room, weird how they made ceilings like that.
Must be short people
Wow... I truly feel for you and your height phobia, I have a particular phobia as well, So i feel your mental pain! We appreciate you pushing the bar, I might not have even pushed my phobia for the sack of $$$. You go places I wouldn’t ever. Lol. Awesome friggen explore! Had to spilt the explore into 2 nights, but was worth every second. Gave thumbs up as always!
Thanks man. I like to push myself from time to time, but a big heavy guy on old rusty metal isnt the best situation lol.
Reminds me of a place called “The American Flats” it was an abandoned cyanide mill in Silver City Nevada. I used to go there with my dad and a bunch of other people for paintball back in the 80’s and early 90’s. It has since been torn down due to dangers of collapsing. But MAN what a place! Good find bro!!! They don’t make em like they used to!
Thanks
the truck is a 1956 F700, its a one year cab with the wrap around front window
👍
Bucyrus, think of it as two words stuck together. Beautiful and cyrus. (Technically bucolic and Cyrus)
The model # will tell you where it was built. If it starts with a B it was in bucyrus , W indicates South Milwaukee
Wow quite the workout..I bet. Very interesting. Love the house and even the other building in the beginning. Glad you had other guys there for safety!!!
The damage to the walls in the house could be from BEFORE UA-cam, not caused by anyone watching UA-cam.
Thanks JP Can't wait to watch it👍💜🐢🐢🐢
Wow 😮 This is a mans playground for sure !
I would love to walk up that elevated lift (?)
Great video J - thanks for sharing 👍💕😁
😁
Brilliant video love it truly one of the best videos you made yet
Wow, thanks laura
That filter at 22:35 fits a GM or Detriot 4-71 Diesel engine.
Great video J P Thank you. You would of loved to seen the old Tannery that was in Noxen.
Ty
Cool video, I really liked the drag line, I just replaced one of the cables on ours a couple days ago.
What an awesome setting the house is in, great views of the . I appreciate the fact you don't give out locations, and do show respect for the property(ies). I wish everyone shared your philosophy. It burns me up that some people get their jollies by destroying things!
Thanks for commenting
Wow, that drone has great HD video!
Not bad for such a small thing.
at 1:00:00 that crane has a GM 3-71 engine that oil filter at 22:35 fits.
This place resembles the abandoned asbestos mine in asbestos near my home in Quebec Cool Video :)
My Dad worked for Lehigh Portland Cement Co. in the 50s & I would go with him on Saturdays if he had paper work to finish up & I loved sliding down those red sand hills☺️
😲😁
It looks like a great guys day out exploring.
That place is cool .I would like to see abandoned stone querry with water . When I was younger there was ,is a querry near where i lived me and a friend went swimming there two summers on till I realized how dangerous or deadly it could be.
looking forward to watching it
Hi, fantastic editing, so me really cool shots too, I think the last thing people will call you is chicken as there is no way in hell I would walk up ramp of that crane/machinery. Awesome explore, thanks for sharing. x
Haha, its ok if they do. Thanks sue
Great video JP & friends, thank you for sharing this wonderful site! It must have been amazing to see & experience in real life. Not gunna lie, y'all made me nervous as heck watching ya climb/wiggle through all that rusted & icey metal Haha.
We had a great time.
@@JPVideos81 Thanks for the reply! Hope you enjoy the rest of your night :-)
You could make a really nice house out of that building. It has potential.
I’m terrified of heights your brave
I wouldnt say brave lol
That looked scary where he was climbing cool video
It's a furnace, for heating material, usually sand. The sand has to be dry, before mixed with the Portland, otherwise the moisture content in the sand will activate the Portland before it gets to a jobsite. The finished product is called Hot Sand. Hot Sand is also sold in bulk for other uses, so in this case it's sent up into the hoppers, into waiting trucks
The tanker truck looks to be a '55 Ford
Hopper at the top is a crusher. Raw material is crushed to a specific grade, then sent down different conveyors to separate piles.
Woo hoo! Love the thumbnail
This video was very interesting video. You kept saying how long I t turned into. But it was well worth it, nice 👍
Thank you. Sadly this place is now gone. They removed everything seen in this video.
Omg I so feel you on the heights I couldn't have done it ty for braving your fears and awesome video and ty for taking us with u
My pleasure
You were at a cement co. They made the dry powdered cement for baging and selling and also bulk cement carried by tractor trailers. The barrel shape tube with its massive gear run by a huge dri motor and gear box turned the barrel as cement was entering g the drum. The hole you shined your flash light in to see the interior of the drum & baffles is where the flame gun was set up the fire high velocity heat and are to completely dry the cement befor it is sent to pick house to be placed in bags and seald for shipping trucks would hall it to concrete plants that would mix a certain amount of rock and sand to be put into cement delivery trucks you see running loads of wet cement to construction sites and home builders and brick & stone masons. There many homes in the area built in the 50 & 60's have this copanys cement used in building the house.
Thanks for sharing
clean out a couple of rooms in the house and spend the night there and have a barbecue outside, great adventure!
Oh man my stomach is in knots watching you climb those rusty steps😧 I can't walk up any stairs that are see through.😞
Bucyrus (byoo- sigh- rus) Erie made big cranes and draglines for mining.
Thanks for an awesome tour of the Concrete plant
I know I am late watching this video, but it was really awesome.
Thanks mary
You know when you was freaking out about the expanded metal platforms they had more beams to help support you, now the wood lined cat walks had cross bar so many feet apart and you walked right down the middle if you were to fall it would have been on the wood cat walk .
Your best video. Thanks.
Thanks so much
Love the aerial views! just Beautiful! Thank you and team sharing!
Glad you're enjoying and binging lol
Great drone shots... exciting explore...
Most epic explore, history channel documentary... Would make a neat industry to build on a model railroad. At 34:24, holes in the house wall resemble an engineer in a diesel locomotive. Drone footage as well, epic!!
Thanks, this was a great exploration.
What intrigues me, is that they just left an leave everything just behind. In my country, you have to demolish everything and clean the place up.
That stone building with brick diamond inserts, was definitely a barn. Probably 1800s. The inserts were ventilation for farm animals.
Thanks for the info
Looking forward to it ~ thanks!!
Videos are great and never to long.if so pause and watch later.👍👍😁
Exactly
Thanks JP for an Informative video, God bless you for been brave going up high even though your Afraid of heights, Thanks for the Laugh too when Cliff farted Lol, I'd laugh too if you farted Lol, I Don,t know about concrete mining before until I watched your video, keep up the great Explores JP & yeah I'll check out cliffs & Alan's video,s too.
