- Welcome to my walkthrough series of Pokemon Stadium 2! In this playthrough, I will cover the gameplay of all the Pokemon Stadium 2 Cups (including Pokemon Stadium 2 R2): Johto Gym Leader Castle, Kanto Gym Leader Castle, Poke Cup, Prime Cup, Challenge Cup, Little Cup, and the final showdown against The Rival: the final boss of this game! I really hope you enjoy this Pokemon Stadium 2 no commentary series.

Little Cup (Japanese: リトルカップ Little Cup) is one of four Stadium Cups introduced in Pokémon Stadium 2. It was introduced for players to compete with newly-hatched baby Pokémon. It also tests the player's Pokémon breeding skills, as specific Egg Moves are highly desirable.
Although the Little Cup is for Pokémon hatched from an Egg, Pokémon caught in the wild can be entered as well. However, they follow the same restrictions and must not be evolved.
Anyways... This video clearly shows why Scyther is banned from Smogon-based Little Cup, lol. _____________________________________________

For a cup for level 5 Pokemon, this one is pretty brutal.

Agreed! They should have done to Pokémon Stadium 1 and 2 the same thing they did to Red/Green and Gold/Silver... REMAKE 'EM!!! If Pokémon Stadium 1 had been remade at Gen III, as well as Stadium 2 at Gen IV, there would be the acme of Pokémon franchise! IMAO

How are you able to give everyone in your party Psychic? Did you buy all of the Pokémon TM’s from the Game Corner? How did your Magby have Flamethrower at lvl. 5?
The answer of all your questions is simple: BREEDING.
So keep breeding Magby until it has Flamethrower? Scyther learns Swords Dance at 42, you can’t buy it as a TM. How does your Scyther know that move?

Also, the mechanics of breeding have a lot of factors to consider, so I recommend you do some research on breeding in Pokémon to get a better picture.
In essence, you breed a Female Pokémon with a male Pokémon from the same egg group or the same species. Pokemons have egg moves, which are moves they can only learn through breeding, and you can make Pokémon learn moves they can only learn through TM or level up by teaching that move to one of their parents. For example, Magby has flamethrower because a female magmar was bred with a male magmar, and the Magby "inherited" the move.
I know it's a little tricky. That is why I ask you to Google the mechanic so you can become more acquainted with it.
@@ChrisPTY507 I’ve researched a lot about breeding and how it works now. I appreciate the information. I have 5/6 in my party complete other than Cubone. I can’t seem to get Cubone to learn “Ancient Power”. How did you get him to learn Ancient Power?
Edit: I tried using a Kabuto to learn Ancient Power then breed with a Female Totodile. The Kabuto evolved into Kabutops and learn it at 65. Kabutops knows the move Ancient Power but when i try to make it breed with the Female Totodile, it says “Brimming with energy”.
@@halopro85 If the Pokémon is on the same egg group, then it should be able to breed and then the baby should Inherit the move. Make sure the male and female Pokémon are on the same egg group, otherwise it won’t work.
If the pokemons are on the same egg group and for whatever reason doesn’t work, try with another Pokémon who’s on the same egg group. Breeding mechanics back in Gen 2 tend to be very time consuming IIRC
You might've given 'steroid' to your Pokémon! Nope! just kidding, you just trained them to their max capability! LOL

I mean, I understand why, but still...
I checked, its banned in Smogon too.
Because Scyther has the same base stat as Scizor. There just distributed differently.
