Murray cod fishing with chicken as bait

- Most of us know now that cheese is a great Murray cod bait, but so too is chicken, especially when it is marinated in a few special additives.
In this video I am using a fishing bait called Chickens Hit. Chickens hit was developed by a Compleat Angler store owner. It is sliced chicken, marinated in some special scents and fish pheromones and best of all, it works a treat!
This is not the first fishing video in all of my fishing videos where I am using chickens hit for bait. I used it once before and had an absolute blast, catching a lovely Murray cod that snagged me, forcing me to go swimming for it.
Catching Murray cod with chicken... give it a go. I have heard of people using plane chicken, just sliced chicken breast.
That's the side viewers don't see with the videos. All the trips with no fish all the hours put in unused and deleted footage. But all your time and effort is appreciated by many of us. 👍

Hey Darren thanks so much mate, it's all good. That scene was actually taken from a full length action video. If I had of set out specifically to film a tutorial like that I would have taken a tripod and done it much differently. How long ago did you live in Beechworth mate? I absolutely LOVE Beechworth. It has been a life long dream of mine yo live up there. Hopefully some day I can make that dream come true.

Edit: with the turtles I found if u land them and and flip them upside down 😂😂😂
They can’t flip and they are easy to unhook!

Bahaha love the banter! I've completely gone to chicken for bait, I do use a bit of sfactor on the chicken though. Still experimenting on how I can lift it off the bottom though. My theory is that chicken reminds cod of bardi

nice one, I like using chicken over cheese, I cant seem to keep the cheese on the hook compared to chicken. Didn't take that turtle long at all to fix itself up.

My brother and I both use raw chicken breast or thigh cut into decent chunks(you're 100% right about the shrimp, that and big baits=big fish right? LOL) and it's netted us both some nice legal and above cod, plus the carp don't seem all that attracted to it for some reason, get the odd couple here and there but not nearly as many as worms and other small live baits
Hey Jimmy thanks mate. It's unreal that you can just leave the bait in one spot without having to check it every 5 minutes to make sure the shrimp havent stolen it. LOL

Ask an old timer what is the best cod bait... they say a rabbit! Especially one dead a cupla days full of maggots! Yummm....suspended a foot or so off the bottom so the crays dont get it. Cod were big in them days

I have another question. I’ve been catching a lot of massive carp below weirs along the Murray river that have been quite detrimental to my fishing rods. After a dozen or so, my rod breaks. I’m targeting golden perch but I’m getting massive carp. I need a fishing tip to save my rods please?

Robbie, in the Barwon Macentire we have had some success with blue pilchards and as there are a lot of dead parrots on the roads we have used them as well suspended from a branch. Just one question, what is the best cheese? Thanks mate.

Years ago when my late uncle Trevor was alive, we had heard that redfin liked cooked prawns.
So Uncle Trevor bought a heap and took them with us.
No bites on the first prawn that we used for bait....which also happened to be the last prawn that we used for bait. 😂😂😂
