Loved this, Robbie, stumbled across your vids a while ago with your monster yabbies, and you’ve had me hooked to the channel ever since thanks 👍🏻🎣😊I’m disabled following a major stroke and have to watch as others have adventures, and yours mate are indeed worth the watch, I’m an old Irish gal living in Holland nigh on 20 years now - only pretty boring fish species to be caught here, compared with the monster lake pike from Ireland used to catch in my youth. Thanks for cheering me up, Robbie, on many’s a dark day with your great way, keep on keepin on, kish on, tight lines , Kirsty ☘️🌷
@Kirsty Shiels Hi Kirsty, thank you so much for your kind words. I am so sorry to hear of your predicament. I know a bit about strokes as they've been quite prevalent in our family.
I trally hope that you can make a full recovery. My uncle had one 6 months ago and has recently been told he Cam now drive again.
I'm sending you prayers Kirsty. 🙏
@@robbiefishing Hiya Robbie, fair Dinkum, lovely message of encouragement from you from down under, thanks a million 🙏🏻, very much appreciated, am half paralyzed for the past 10 years now since early forties, still try to recover and never give up, got an amazing Son of 21 to live for so ☘️🌷🤲🏻💪🏻🥲🙃🥰survival is the name of the game over here, keeping distracted from the pain also, where you come in with your great videos - I really appreciate hearing your cheerful voice after another sleepless night. Love and respect ❤️ from Holland and good luck with the cod 🤞🏼. God Bless, Kirsty.
NICE cod there Robbie! That 2nd 1 was a PIG! I just got the bad news my best mate died suddenly this morning! He used to comment on your vids a bit. He used to LOVE fishing for cod when he lived here in Vic!
My condolences and sympathy on the loss this morning of your best mate, I’m a subscriber from Holland and just wanted to tell you this. May they Rest In Peace and catch many’s a good fish 🎣 in Nirvana, take care of yourself, Kirsty x
Hi UF I am so sorry to hear that. Thays devastating. I hope you are OK mate. Do you know what his channel name is?
@@kirstyshiels6155 Thanks!
@@robbiefishing It was Adrian from ysohot223 channel.
He was the owner or Adispin lures. He made artisan lures, wobblers, spinner baits etc, & they sold for $100 of!
He took that photo of me with that snapper in my arms that make sup my avatar!
@@Urbanfisho hope you’re doing alright now that the terrible news has had time to sink in, especially as it was so sudden. May your best mate Rest In Peace and his family be comforted at this difficult time ( and at least you can hopefully see him now as “forever Gone Fishin’ 🎣” whenever you’re missing him most 🤞🏼and hear the “Hey You” call of Robbie in your head. Take good care, mate, wishing you well going forward, Fish on and tight lines 🎣😉🌷☘️, Kirsty
Love the way you respect the fish mate, very happy for you with that cod. Beautiful fish. Getting rid of the carp is a very important bonus too👍 Love the videos!
Thanks so much mate.
Awesome fish and video! You’re by far the most deserving person to catch a fish like that!
Hey Zaki, thank you so much for your kind words mate. I don't target the big fish but I certainly do celebrate them. Haha
Another great video! It's so good to see Holly and you fishing together. When I was living in the N.T. I would often fish with my girls. Some of the best memories of my life. Cheers mate 👍
Thanks mate. I love my time fishing with Holly so much.
Fantastic fish Rob. I love you enthusiasm with all your fishing. So happy for you getting a cod like that 🤟

Hi Paul, thanks so much for your kind words mate. 👍
What a terrific morning of fishing and great job on the 'Big Guy'! I'm with you on the lip hook, have yet to catch a Cod that has swallowed the hook. Great job Robbie, always enjoy seeing a big Murray Cod being landed. Cheers
Thanks so much Larry. I was fishing g if you on the weekend. I was fishing in Billabong Creek. I was way upstream near Albury though. Same creek, but a long long way away.
@@robbiefishing Had another creator telling me the water levels in that area are close to normal. How was the water conditions there?
Great Fish Robbie! "Better stop recording so I can text everyone in my contact list.." LOL Great episode.
Hahahaha "I'M TELLING EVERYONE". 🤣🤣🤣
Bloody awesome Robbie! A very well deserved fish, you had a great morning mate. Loved it! 👌
Thanks mate, didn't I ever. The night before my old man and I say on the bank of the dame River and caught nothing. Haha
@@robbiefishing haha!! It’s just how it is sometimes, you know this better then most. I’ve caught a few Maccas in that spot with the kids. 👌
Seeing people with the same passion for fishing as me makes me smile. Keep it up robbie! Love it
Goodoo good oh well done
Loved the start with the kookaburras that’s partly what fishing is all about
Thanks Peter. I agree mate, thats why I left it in. A beautiful sound of nature.
Cod season is firing!
It is for bait. I'm struggling with lures though.
Ok, water is still pretty dirty!
Fantastic fish Robbie. Bravo.
Thanks heaps Hank.
Onya Robbie. On problem - you've set the bar high for the rest of the season. 😂😂👍👍

Wow, that was a beautiful cod, very chunky. Awesome catch.. thanks for the video.
Thanks so much Kenneth.
Well done 👍🏻 mate what a session!! That’s a monster congratulations 🥳
Thanks so much Blaine.
Robbie, greetings from cold Canada. I had to run a cuppla errands this afternoon and damn near drove into the back end of a police cruiser. I saw a man on the sidewalk who looks exactly like you. The traffic was brutal so I was unable to stop or park immediately. I had to circle the block and looked for your doppelganger. No luck. He was dressed in a plaid parka and his beard/goatee was almost a perfect match. If I had located the ugly bugger, I would have taken his photo for comparison purposes. Keep up with your videos. Merry Christmas.
Haha thank you so much Raymond. Haha He must have been a good looking rooster if he looked like me. 🤣🤣🤣
I hope you have a safe and wonderful Christmas too mate.
Hey Robbie! I do a lot of cod fishing in the bidgee up near Canberra and in the last 12 months iv had heaps of cod between 40-60cm all gut hooked, it’s becoming more common then not. Always use fairly big hooks too so they must just smash it. Massive fan of the channel mate
Thanks mate. 👍 Thats very interesting. I find the small cod gut hook a lot, but only the tiny ones. I wonder what is different?
Now that’s what you call a beautiful cod!! Well done robbie!!
Thanks mate. 👍
Very nice Cod Robbie... Just love how you managed to capture the the whole footage from casting to release...
Thanks Dave, so am I mate. It's so hard to get the bite on camera with cod because it happens so quickly. I totally fluked that part. Haha
Congratulations Robbie very nice cod
Thanks mate.👍👍
Well done Robbie. Great fish, and very healthy.
Thanks so much Chris.
Well done Robbie--that was one fat fish!
I’ve been waiting for this notification yew yew, nothing this man can’t do 🍻🍻🇦🇺🇦🇺

@@robbiefishing I see there was no machete machine in action this video only downfall hahaha no not all brother, great video as always ❤️🍻🍻🇦🇺🇦🇺
Well done, Robbie.
Thanks Paul. 👍
Ripper of a video, Robbie!
Loved the rendition of the song, “Here comes the sun.” That is the song that my girlfriend’s brother is going to play on guitar at our wedding next year, in the land of my ancestors - Greece.
The fight with that oversized Goodoo was certainly memorable, for us, your viewers, and most definitely for yourself!
Well done, mate
Thanks so much Dimitri. WOW, exciting times ahead for you my friend.
@@robbiefishing, yeah, tying the knot, and not a loop knot lol.
This one is not my usual catch and release lol. I took her to Eucumbene last year for the annual spawn run and I accidentally pulled her into a wombat hole lol. But she loves me and encourages all my endeavours, even when I promise to be home from fishing at 7pm and it ends up being 11pm hahaha
Beautiful Cod, Robbie 👍🏼
Thanks so much Wayne.
Lovely Fish Robbie-Congrats 👍🎣👏
Thanks so much Simon.
Lovely fish, well done!
Thanks mate.
Wahoo!
Nope, sorry, codhoo!
What a magnificent fish.
So fat. The extra rain has certainly brought heaps more food into the water ways and the fish are reaping the rewards.
I feel for the people who have been allowed to build in low laying areas, but the floods are so good for the land and the river systems.
All the best Robbie.
Looking forward to your next video.
Wow, that was a big fish. Like the bloke in Jaws almost said - Looks like you're gunna need a bigger net!
lol
I'm working my way backwards in time through your viddies. I'm really enjoying them. Keep making them bro.
Hi Bruce, thank you so much for your kind words mate. Catching this fish really have me a buzz and has been a stand out highlight of this season for me.
Great catch Robbie!

Bloody ripper Cod Robbie👍
Thanks so much Jamie. 👍
Awesome fish mate...well done
Thanks so much Tezza.
Congrats mate that was a ripper cod!!! The carp kept you busy as well haha. Well done
Thanks mate. What a buzz.
Extra vintage? Light n tatsy? Parmigiana? What's the secret Robbie? 🤣
Haha just plain old Coles tasty mate.
There was a study done on Murray cod & it was found that in our river system's Cod 90cm & above have a diet that consisted mainly of carp amongst various other thing's. Ducks, golf ball's & basically anything they can fit in there bucket mouth.
The carp thing was interesting as they found that the carp actually played a vital role in feeding those river monster's.
Thanks Leigh. I 100% believe that. I often wonder what would happen to the cod if the carp weren't there.
What a catch 🥳🥳🥳🥳 fantastic Robbie
Thanks Sharon. This was the highlight of this current cod season by a long shot.
Nice size cod mate. I was going yabbying tomorrow but after watching this you have me keen to go cod fishing. 😀
Haha thanks mate.
Awesome fish mate, well done.

Love the video Robby, i luv the murray are you fishing above the lake around jindera ? It is so good to see people put fish back. I fifish around Toc and they all go back. I like the hunt.
Thanks so much mate. I was fishing near Wangaratta.
I was on the Toc road yesterday but didn't get that far north.
Awesome well done mate great trip and few good fish and one great fish 👍👍👍👍
What a session that turned in to! Messing around with a few pigs then boom. I must confess mate, I did wonder if the rod was up to the job 😂
Thanks mate. What a proper donkey!! Haha That rod is an old battle horse. I keep planning to upgrade it, bit people keep telling me I need to which makes me less inclined to. Hahaha

Awesome. And you proved your point that most of cod hook in the jaw.

Nice fish Robbie!! Great to see! Well done 🙌🏼
Thanks Mark. I'm still yet to get one on a lure though. Haha
@@robbiefishing haha I’m sure there will be no shortage of cod on lures for you this season haha 👌🏼
Magnificent cod mate and on the cheese , well done Robbie. 👍
Thanks so much Luke.
Carp are always a great by-catch, everyone should catch 3 every trip they go on.
Slow start to your cod season and things just got serious. Well done on your cod, the season is young and the rivers are dropping
Thanks for sharing 😅
Love your work
Healthy habits
Thanks so much Moo Moo. Hopefully last night's rain doesn't take a step backwards. There's been 50mm in some areas, but most falls are smaller.
Great video Robbie
Thanks so much Kelvin.
What a pearler , well done mate.
Thanks so much Tim..
What a ripper, nice one Robbie 👍
Thanks so much Les. 👍
On ya Robbie!!! Love that you out those big girls back, you truly are one of my favourite you tubers, I love your conservative attitude to fishing and the respect you have even for mud marlins. We used to just shoot them or chop them up with a long handled shovel. I grew up in Shepp, but always went to Gunbower island and Nyah when I was younger. I actually caught a 65cm Macquarie perch at Nyah west.(no shit)...though it was a yellow belly so I ate it as you do when you are 12. It was horrible, so fatty and mushy. But now with informative fishing shows like yours for inland fishing in southern Australia(especially up round Wang, Benalla and up into the high plains) I would ad a young fisherman never keep a Macca ever or a Murray cod. TBH the only fresh water fish worth eating to me is definitely red fin. And that last episode of those two stonkers, well I didn't sleep well that night! I only dream of catching Reddies that big. I have caught at least 10-15 25-35cm in one day at a dam at a gold course. I found the secret of getting big Reddies is you have to get to the deep part of the lake, dam or river. They hang down the bottom and slam small fish and yabbies as they go past. I used to catch heaps on baltic bobbers and of course the old spinner baits, but id cut little strips of red o black tape to put on the spoon. It really mimicked small Redfin. Id love to come along for a fish one day, dont really want to be in a video but you seem like a great bloke to learn some new stuff off and to chat about species and fishing stories. I never miss an episode I swear.
Hi Ben, thank you so much for your kind words and wonderful support. I agree about the redfin, absolutely beautiful eating. I prefer yellowbelly, but they are both very similar.
65cm Macca... WOW. That's insane. I only recently discovered that there was once a thriving population of Macquarie Perch downstream of Yarrawonga.
@@robbiefishing yep me too, I only realized it was a macca after I did research a checked out the photos. I've never really caught yellow belly big enough for eating. I find river fish are the best when they are just about 1 over legal. The rest o throw back
Awesome fish!
Thanks mate.
Great stuff mate and we'll done that's a lovely cod. Did you get a measure on the landing net by any chance 🤣🤣
Thanks mate. Haha I must do that, great idea.
Robbie, those carp are quite a tasty feed if cooked right. If you put them on a board and put them in the oven for 8 hours, you can take them out and eat the board and it's quite tasty.
Hahahaha That sounds about right mate. 🙏
What a solid fish mate, good stuff
Thanks so much Jordan..
I love how you react when you catch a river monster like that
Haha I tend to get very excited. That because I just love it so much!
Wow Robbie that’s a stonker of a cod!!! I went cod fishing today with lures and ended up catching a 55 cm yella
WOW thay is a monster mate, well done.

Niceeeee !!! Love it Robbie
Thanks Jay. 👍
Ripper Goodoo Robbie,
Loved the fight and the strong swim-off when released.
Great work!
Watched a 110cm Cod catch from a Yak earlier and really felt sorry for the fish - when released it swam off extremely slowly.
Thanks Peter. There's a lot if emphasis on wetting our hands, supporting the fish's stomach etc,.but sadly there's not a lot of emphasis put on getting the fish back into the water ASAP. I love a good strong swim off.
Well done . Great job 👍
Thanks brother.
