i was using a plastic hanger but got the real thing and it really comes in handy, i use it alot and i recommend it to any golfer who likes to work on his swing.
I bought it, have used it several times now and absolutely love it. It is so nice to have the physical cue when my left wrist is cupped. I thought I would revert back to old habits after taking it off, but I was surprised by how much it helped with my consistency. One thing that I did NOT find helpful for me was putting the hanger on a 45 degree angle. When I did this it was putting way too much loft on the ball and I was losing distance. Thank you for recommending the product though as I am really excited about practicing with it all spring and summer.
I bought this last week. It's a great tool. It really helps you understand where your arms and hands need to be throughout the swing. Not only that but helps you understand the need to move your hips to square the clubface rather than use your wrists to "flip" it. Great tool.
Hey Eric I am about to buy one of your trainings the full swing one What are the best training aids to buy Left wrist/ hack motion, the hanger Right wrist/ precision impact For impact and lag, impact the eyeline 2.0, for lag/. I received my Hanger today. I used your code for a discount. Thank you! I’m loving it so far. My arm has a nice red line now. Lol. I assume that my forearm moves a little against the Hanger in the backswing and then part of the downswing until I apply more pressure, right? I’m sure getting some friction there. But my swings with plastic balls on the mat are getting more height and distance now.
Love it Jeff! Make sure its angled correctly at setup (turned to the right enough) so its close to trail forearm.....from there less "throw" through impact to not hit yourself so much :)
Just ordered it with the discount! Your videos have really helped me with my ball striking over the last few weeks, and I think this aide/practice/drills will take it to the next level. Thanks Eric!
I bought this and think it is going to really help my release pattern. It feels almost impossible to flip with this on. My miss when practicing with this is always to the right even with the unit pressed against my lead arm. Is the trick to rotate the forearm more to close the face?
Ordered based on your recommendation. The Structureball looked like something that could really help me as well so went with the bundle option. Maybe you could do a review on that product as well? Thanks for your daily commitment to this channel and your instruction. Love your content!

Eric, For the life of me I can’t stop having soft high ball flight cutting to the right. Clearly my face is open but I can’t figure out how to get it closed. Is it more rotation or is it in my wrists?

Hi Éric , i just got the hanger with your promo code and used it , I don’t know how to think about it . In therms of take away it is quite useful in order to not rolling the worst to the inside but my ball flight changed a lot. All of my golf balls are generating a lot of spin and making a cut trajectory . The face of the club head start to be way more open at the impact due to the hanger . With the driver it was the opposite . I couldn’t hit a good shot with the hanger , all of my golf ball are snap hook which is very rare for me . I am 2 HCP and maybe I didn’t use it properly. But I wonder why I am cutting or snap hooking the ball with hanger . I guess I came over the top with a different club head position at the impact ....
Hey Alban! Sounds like you need to learn to use it correctly is all! 1. First you mention the hanger creates a lot of spin then creates a cut (fade) but then you mention it makes you snap hook? Not sure how you would get both of those ends of spectrum there....that seems extremely odd to me. Maybe one or the other, but not both. 2. Perhaps you have it setup incorrectly (I like to angle it 45*) 3. Perhaps you have some different grip/wrist angles than most and need to use it differently I would love to help but of course I need to see your swing on video to offer any advice here. Consider joining www.cogornogolf.com you can send me your swings there and we can help
Hey Steve! If you OVER CLOSE the face I would feel the hanger stay between the forearms longer Would need to check your grip and your grip/wrist angle combo Could be several things causing this
I’ve been using this in every range session and it has helped me to hit more GIRs. Gonna start using it on the longer clubs to tighten the dispersion on them. I did notice that when I used it without the club attachment that the end piece would smack my right finger and over time it bruised up and cut it.
Gives you instant feedback on how your wrist angles affect the club face. Can use with or without it. Also helps with setting it up: set the club face of theHANGER parallel to the club face on the ground, with neutral grip. Can be adjusted based on personal preference. I like it at about 45* because that's what gets my lead wrist flat at the top.
Eric, Very interesting aid. Unfortunately, my golf balls go straight to the left (I’m RH). I suspect my problem might be the hanger set up.I’ve set it up 45 degrees to the right but the problem remains. Thanks for your advice on how to overcome that problem. Best wishes, Carlos
Hey Carlos! I would need to see your swing on video to offer any good advice here....my first thought would you need to feel like you're holding off the release more. If that doesn't solve it (less lead wrist extension) then I would look at lead arm rotation: ua-cam.com/video/BlZriUpP7Ns/v-deo.html Or trail arm rotation: ua-cam.com/video/XiGbh1SyBXY/v-deo.html
@@CogornoGolf Eric, Thank you for your prompt and helpful reply. I have watched your top quality 2 videos on the role of the left and right arms. They will help me to find out, in the driving range, what can be the cause of my golf balls going straight to the left and staying left. I have also thought that that cause could eventually be related with my hand path, I mean I could be swinging across the ball coming with an outside to inside path. Best wishes, Carlos
@@carlosfreitasdasilva9150 Hey Carlos ... hope all is well with you & those whom you love. Couldn't help but respond to your concern, and as I really like a handful of online golf coaches ( Eric is one of them) & I do watch their vids from time to time, I too am a veteran golf coach & would like to offer a few vital tips that very well may address your problem: I'd like you to remember skipping rocks on the water when you were younger & apply this to your swing. At address, your spine is at an angle or tilt, say ... like a cement truck, right? When you skip a rock, you assume & KEEP that angle throughout your throw, correct? Keeping this angle through impact through the golf swing is PARAMOUNT. Added to that is this caveat: You must 'witness' the empty spot where your ball once was at impact. When you SEE that empty spot, THEN ( and ONLY then ) allow your head to follow your shoulders by way of your follow through & finish. So STAY DOWN & maintain your spine angle through impact. My 'favorite' bad habit ( that still rears itself at times ) is to look up AS I'm impacting through the ball. What happens then is that I 'come out of my swing,' that is, I start to stand up, & as a result, I turn my golf swing into a baseball swing. The result? A beautiful shot that is headed left of my target by way of a straight flight or a baby draw. It's pretty much always a beautiful shot, but its not going where we need it to go, right? Another reason your ball flight goes left could be that you're ROTATING your shoulders instead of SLIGHTLY rotating them with more of a 'see-saw' action, whereas ( on the downswing ), your left shoulder should be turning UP as your right shoulder is turning DOWN ( again, like a cement truck ). With this correct motion you should feel as though your hands are headed SLIGHTLY to the right of your target immediately after impact. If you haven't corrected your problem yet, try to institute these tips & good luck!
Hey Kevin! If you click the link in the description box for theHANGER and apply code COGORNO, you can knock down the price to $68 in the cart👍 Hope this helps! Let us know if any questions!
It's a little grip and player dependent...find what angle gets your lead wrist exactly flat at the top, in transition and at impact. For me, that's about 45*. Also, 45* is the position needed to have my lead wrist flat and forward at impact over lead leg.
I have had one of these since they came out...what you may not realize, the green rubber rubs against your wrist and after longer sessions can really start burning the inside of your wrist skin away
Hey Ryan! Thanks for the feedback! Interesting. I only ever do 30-40 balls per session with it at a time so I have never experienced that. I really love it!
I don't even worry about my wrists anymore. I'm cupped in the takeaway, cupped at the top but seem to flatten the lead wrist at impact. I feel like that happens naturally with the correct movement of the body. Anytime you try to flatten or bow your wrist at impact bad things are going to happen.
Thats all good Jason! All that really matters is that it is Flat at impact like you mention! Unfortunately I have seen lots and lots of golfers who are not able to flatten on way down so well and do better having it flatter earlier. Several ways to do it!
