Most enjoyable series. I stumbled upon the show 6 days ago. I'm rationing myself to 1 episode a day - no binges! One query : Why must the team have different IDs for each situation? Would a blanket Homeland Security not cover all possible situations, because is D H S is the highest security branch, and can over-ride the areas of authority of the other agencies, is it not? This is a serious question; I'm not having a dig at the security agencies - this time!
I would think this will make it more difficult for anyone to put together what is happening. If just HS was doing all this some damn reporter would/could pick up on it.
Different law enforcement agencies have different jurisdictions. DHS does not have jurisdiction over every situation in every state. Nor is DHS the "highest law enforcement agency." American law enforcement isn't ranked like that. Jurisdiction is what matters.

Love that building full of nothing but parallel hallways side by side by side. Used in every episode. Enter hall, going north. Exit this hallway through an east side door, doing a 180 into the adjacent hallway, going south. Exit that one into the next adjacent hallway going north again. Meanwhile people that just want to go east or west, just walk right straight through at the ends of the parallel hallways...
2005, when people didn't know how credit cards worked. RFID technology used in contactless credit cards typically operates on a specific frequency range and protocol that is dedicated to data transmission related to payment transactions. These chips are designed to only respond to authorized requests from approved payment terminals. They are not designed to execute arbitrary code or interact with complex computer systems like those needed to propagate computer viruses.
That's true. Even so, the alien code rewrites the chips to transfer the base code to more complex machines, and so forth. Plot continuity miss, yes, but still not too bad.
Not that it detracts from the story, but just so people know; damage from an EMP would not slowly radiate out from the center as depicted. Magnetic waves travel just under the speed of light - and I mean a nat's butt under. The "lights out" spread would be (for all practical perception) instantaneous. Major, blue light explosions would happen throughout the area from power transformers over heating and exploding, but it would be nearly instantaneous and wide spread. Now lets talk about the impossible power requirements necessary to generate an EMP that could take out the entire city of Miami. Lets just say the generator wouldn't fit on the back of a Hum-vee. EMP pulses are a real thing but they take the released energy of a nuclear bomb to achieve that kind of wide spread damage. This is the only thing I would point out to the technical advisers on this series so far. Most everything else, so far, is plausibly believable - in a sci-fi story sort of way.
Right, but this fact became popular known relativly late. Even around 2000 people still feared haelth deficites by Computer virus.:) Same with other " older " SF and Fantasy TV shows. I don't blame movies and TV for today's misconceptions about science and technology as much as I blame social media and the junk science found right here on UA-cam. This series is a bit unnerving. An alien attack; not colonizing, but outright changing all life. Even the trees. I like trees, so no thanks I'll stay Terran.
Total dependence on electronics is human civilisation's greatest weakness. Paranoia is heightened awareness, safety is just an illusion when riding a convertible spaceship half a billion miles per hour.
I have seen the series before, but never really took much notice. But then, as now, it's very good and hangs together well. But I must say that I was wondering where the series could have gone in series two other than the continuation of one 'investigation' per episode' structure we appear to have reached come this episode. A lot of work must have gone into the script writing as the whole thing 'fits' together very well. Also the characterisations of the Threshold Team members are well done. I personally like the way quite disparate personalities work so well in the team. But, and in this way I thought similarities between this show and the 1960s show 'The Invaders' became apparent as, like David Vincent, the Threshold Team deals with one situation per week with little progress towards getting to the bottom of what to do from a proactive perspective. Perhaps this would have been the driving force for a second series? Anyway, I still enjoy the show and am disappointed that the series was 'pulled' before the story ended.
Interseting show, but what is the very distracting sub-carrier noise under the audio track? Is this some joke the producers were playing about the introduced alien audio signal or did they just have a really bad sound engineer? This sounds like someone ran the audio through a sound compressor turned up too high and then recombined it with the original track.
The woman dr. Is out her mind putting many people at risk bc keeping the infected in close proximity to the city. And she thinks has all the answers and doesn't respect others. she can be very smug too, which is irritating. Good show.
A solar flare compresses the field lines of the magnetic field of the earth. While it obviously only hits on the day side of the planet it also affects the night side, as the magnetic fields are interconnected. Most likely however not to such an extent. On the other hand, that movie plays in the USA ... the population there is not as smart as you (even if you are slightly wrong ;D )
Thoroughly plausible. But yeah, the writers started getting sloppy around 2 episodes back. What's corny here is that EMPs knock out electronic devices, not electrical ones. Yes, it will bring the grid down. But my 1989 Ford Bronco will still start, whereas your 2014 Prius will not...
Simply because most pre-1990 vehicles don't have a CPU. Nor do most toasters, fans, generators, etc. If it don't have a chip, it won't break down. Batteries are mostly unaffected by EMPs, meaning that my $70 Swatch will still work, while your $400 smart-watch won't...
Really enjoy the actors but the scripts are so repetitive, poor plots, probably why it got cancelled. You can have great actors but if the writers are not up to the task, bummer. Did enjoy seeing Viola Davis!
I make the 1,000th Like for this video! That's so unimportant. The brand of shoelaces I'm wearing is more important. Anyone notice this series seems to be softening up the public for spooks to do whatever they decide to do under Federal authority? Years later, look what sort spooks have been running around, doing stupid, childish things. What a joke.
I'd hate to be someone on life support when they puled that EMP. Also, no one who is into astronomy is gonna believe that "solar flare story. Still, how many people is that?
@20:15 man get to the point. The heck are you beating about the bush for like that? People dont have time to seat & listen & wait for you to get to the point.. there's too much stuff to do with life. Tho this was a very promising series, with a little patience, it would have caught on. LOST also had a slow start, but look at how it ended.
lol no wonder this was canceled, the ghostly supernatural symptoms from the once-off alien invasion in episode 1 show up in every single episode thereafter and never materialize into anything else, the show never reveals the actual aliens or the actual alien encounters, more like an alien ncis series of dectective work.
Well you're thinking a bit too narrowly. Realistically speaking those could be the "actual" aliens, and that there's no standard corporeal form that they take. I think a better reason to explain the canceling would be that it was too nonsensical when it came to science. Aliens aren't likely/necessarily going to look like any sort of animal we can "think of", but they'd still most likely generally follow our laws of physics, not doing all this crazy outright super crazy magical stuff. However more likely is that it just wasn't interesting enough, or had other bad factors (such as powerful competing shows, bad timeslot, etc.). Oftentimes the cancellation of shows can be somewhat random or poorly justified. Take for example how Firefly was cancelled, a show that tons of people really loved. Another factor is that with regards to _any_ sci-fi it tends to have a narrower appeal, since older people (elderly) tend to not be as interested in it. Females also have less of an interest in many sci-fi shows, but I don't think it would have a strong impact on the numbers in this case since it is not an action show and has some drama in it.
@@MsHojat thanks for your opinion but what a load of bullshit moronically catergorized as sci-fi instead this series seems like an ongoing cheesy soap drama of a crime thriller to find the missing aliens, an alien abduction series without materializing aliens ? is just another genre on its own, even the x files came to a conclusion involving sci-fi after each episode
This episode sucked. Any devices that where turned off would still work. ATM's are on a global network. Anyone with a pacemaker would die or have another heart attack.
Yes, it is because most accepted script writers are somewhat out of their league in the question of true SCIENCE FICTION & FANTASY Not much changed here since Roddenberry had tried to rally up some script writers for STAR TREK in the Sixties. In fact he had to start from scretch and teach some of them himself like his former secretary D.C. Fontana.
Why is it a bad thing that people that are affected by the signal are stronger and more resilient and try to make others the same? Everybody ends up better than they were before.
No it didn't happen in Earths history. If you think that you need to see a doctor. And they will still be human, just not homo sapiens sapiens. They'll be homo sapiens superiens. Better than human.
NaN There is no "scientific" name for the hybrids walking amongst the zombies here. "Superians" is a fabricated moniker. Yes, it has happened in earths history before. It is well documented by just about every culture on earth. Sumerians called them annunaki, the ancient hebrew calls them grigori, in south america it was the "feathered serpent" god quetzalcoatl. All the same beings setting up shop in different parts of the world, and playing god. They spread their dna into mankinds gene pool creating hybrids that were stronger, faster, etc. The biblical account calls these hybrids nephilim " the mighty men, the men of renown"...hmm...these ancient texts talk about the same thing happening as the plot of this show. They have already started the second incursion. Know your history or be doomed to repeat it. Saying it never happened before in history only displays your lack of knowledge, intelligence, and pompous nature.
because the aliens didn't show up and offered those "enhancements" they try to sneak them in. therefore they have an agenda, and if they keep it secret, they do it probably because they know, the humans would reject the proposal, for reasons. the fact that those enhanced ones kill without hesitation also means, that stronger does not mean better. just more dangerous. they might be making some humans stronger,to use them as better soldiers, until they are not longer needed. given the global results, you better handle that as an aggressive incursion instead of a friendly gift.
@@jimgiangregorio1641 "Saying it never happened before in history only displays your lack of knowledge, intelligence, and pompous nature." Now, what you've done here, is told a person that they're displaying their lack of pompous nature. Which is correct, but clearly not what you were going for. I can't stop you from being crazy, but I hope I can at least stop you from being grammatically incorrect.
I thought that was rather directed and played well. I liked that realistic look. American done movies and TV episodes are often to much groomed for the modern European taste.

Maybe the other way around. Torchwood was done from 2006 on but the one season series Threshold is one year older. Also the British Torchwood series has more Fantasy in it, this here is pure SF
@@rogerlynch5279 Maybe be, but Torchwood was a logical follow on from Doctor Who and used the same writer and some characters and studio in Wales as Doctor Who.
Not sure how it iis a bad copy unless they borrowed the tardis. Torchwood is newer than this. They would have to go forward in time to make a bad copy of Torchwood. Torchwood was also better than this.
By episode 6 the female honcha orders the black guy around like he's a lap dog when in the original pilot she answered to him. Oh well, they might as well be consistent, 99% of all shows and movies have similar racist - feminist overtones.
Everyone is entitled to his/her own opinion of course but I thought him very good. With his more serious acted role Charles Dutton has counterweighted some of the more Scooby Do -Gang - acting of the other actors. Worked also very well on WAREHOUSE 13, Seven 7 Days or MASH.

bwahahaha!!!! THE PEANUT BUTTER!!! i freakin knew i wasnt crazy!!! . well... hoped..
thanks I only got to the first 2 eps before it got pre-emp
This series is a bit unnerving. An alien attack; not colonizing, but outright changing all life. Even the trees. I like trees, so no thanks I'll stay Terran.
EMP a city, every circuit would be fried, all cars, computers, phones, would be destroyed
Total dependence on electronics is human civilisation's greatest weakness.
Paranoia is heightened awareness, safety is just an illusion when riding a convertible spaceship half a billion miles per hour.
Enjoy it for What it is, Syfi, to many comments on here making this excellent show political ffs
its spreading on youtube all is lost,,.HELP>
Loved it
Lol looks like Tyrion is the same in this show as GoT a randy wee bugger :D
RATED TV-14

And then there came 5G. Goodbye earthlings.
anyone has a track id on 01:30 ?
The CW SHOULD PICK IT UP
what the hell was the network thinking !!!
Surely there are multiple surveillance cameras in every holding cell that would have picked that last bit up. :/
Who is the cast
11:52 Why show a prolonged close-up of the stuntman’s face, when he looks nothing like the character actor?
Interseting show, but what is the very distracting sub-carrier noise under the audio track? Is this some joke the producers were playing about the introduced alien audio signal or did they just have a really bad sound engineer? This sounds like someone ran the audio through a sound compressor turned up too high and then recombined it with the original track.
The woman dr. Is out her mind putting many people at risk bc keeping the infected in close proximity to the city. And she thinks has all the answers and doesn't respect others. she can be very smug too, which is irritating. Good show.
mal, you can’t stop the signal mal.
The jail they are put in looks like the same place Dr Hannibal Lecter stayed in.
David Keane
It was a timeshare.
fucking solar flare in the middle of the night... must have been moon flare.
Ironically, you may have to start your lawn sprinklers manually afterwards...
Solar flares happen all the time, and they make a perfect cover-up for TV-show plots and government conspiracies...
Really enjoy the actors but the scripts are so repetitive, poor plots, probably why it got cancelled. You can have great actors but if the writers are not up to the task, bummer. Did enjoy seeing Viola Davis!
MIAMI BEACH 💯💪🤣😂😎
I make the 1,000th Like for this video! That's so unimportant. The brand of shoelaces I'm wearing is more important. Anyone notice this series seems to be softening up the public for spooks to do whatever they decide to do under Federal authority? Years later, look what sort spooks have been running around, doing stupid, childish things. What a joke.
That is DATA! (or Lore?)
Get Jordy to run some scans, if that don't work bring in Jerry Ryan, not that she would know she's just hot...
@25:31 - Pick a stethoscope and stick with it already!
Why does she keep changing her hair style.
I'd hate to be someone on life support when they puled that EMP. Also, no one who is into astronomy is gonna believe that "solar flare story. Still, how many people is that?
The beginning definately reminds me of Nikita :-)
The original French or the remade American version of the movie ?
Can anyone tell me how many seasons are there
Only one season. It got cancelled. Season 1 has 13 episodes.
@@sabrybrucekhan4171
What is wrong with American audiences they watch TV series like supernatural for 12 session but cancelled this
Too much emotion in this
A solar flare.
At night.
Right...
Why are some of the main characters reversing their moral positions in this episode? The writers have lost the plot.
MH0709 Happens to those that look to long into the abyss. I think the plot just got more realistic.
Another show that may have worked better in a mini-series.
Times must have been tough for Brent Spinner to accept work on this massive turkey.
always has to be a Troll.
This is a good series really hot leading lady
Wayne Mickel yeah nice bouncy bewbies
JT overdoes the angry.
Enjoying this but if in the fourth dimension we would have no defence, we would be fucked
11:50 anyone see the stuntman
cant believe ive endured this for 5 episode .... guess im just bored of watching paint dry
Caffrey is hot. 😍😍😍😍
What bouncer gets a list
If your not on the list your not getting in...
When dealing with a person with an addiction you are not dealing with the person but rather with the addiction 27:43
lol no wonder this was canceled, the ghostly supernatural symptoms from the once-off alien invasion in episode 1 show up in every single episode thereafter and never materialize into anything else, the show never reveals the actual aliens or the actual alien encounters, more like an alien ncis series of dectective work.
Anyone with a pacemaker would die or have another heart attack.
she explained it within the episode. they had to contain it,despite the collateral damage.
All names are fabricated.
And no it didn't happen happen, you do realize those are just stories. There are no gods, they are also fabricated.
because the aliens didn't show up and offered those "enhancements" they try to sneak them in. therefore they have an agenda, and if they keep it secret, they do it probably because they know, the humans would reject the proposal, for reasons. the fact that those enhanced ones kill without hesitation also means, that stronger does not mean better. just more dangerous. they might be making some humans stronger,to use them as better soldiers, until they are not longer needed. given the global results, you better handle that as an aggressive incursion instead of a friendly gift.
Lol. Dreamers
The script is getting soft and predictable.
This is why I don't watch TV.
This is B.S. ! HOSPITALS, people’s Personal HOME CARE Medical DEVICES , are OFF, but “ NO CASUALTIES “! 👍🏾🤬🤷🏼♀️💯
This episode looks like they hired people off the street for the blonde DJ and her drunk boyfriend.
I thought that was rather directed and played well. I liked that realistic look. American done movies and TV episodes are often to much groomed for the modern European taste.
Well for blonde DJ mb though I'm quite sure she is acting in LAst man standing. And the drunk boyfriend is actually and actor who was in shows like Shark, Arrow, True Blood,Southland, Lucifer.
its canada so yeah
This is a bad copy of Torch wood.
Torchwood was also better than this.
accept the mark of the beast, no redemption,..
By episode 6 the female honcha orders the black guy around like he's a lap dog when in the original pilot she answered to him. Oh well, they might as well be consistent, 99% of all shows and movies have similar racist - feminist overtones.
Ha, ha, ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha...racism!!!
The guy they cast as the boss is truly pathetic. Total lack luster performance.
OMG the writing is dreadful, no one can actually shoot a gun properly, I hope and pray that our national Security services are not actually this ineffectually incompetent
