    I've had this machine for about 3 months and absolute love it. It makes great lattes and other drinks and fully automatic.

    I hate to admit how long I've had my Jura, and never knew how to use the steam function, so thank you so much for this video. Very clear, concise instructions. A picture is worth a thousand words. ;)

      Just got my first espresso machine, Jura C60. A few questions...
      Does the machine rinse when turning on/off if you don’t manually power it off but it does auto shut off?
      If you set to strong, will more water make it less strong than less water?
      Are there some suggested settings for grind size, strength, and water amount?

    • @madeinbasement
      @madeinbasement  5 років тому

      bugsysiegals Yes machine will automatically rinse if it turns off by itself. I use default water amounts. Personally I prefer to select “extra” on “coffee” setting. It uses same amount of water but uses more beans I think. My grind settings are set almost all the way to fine. Also I use medium or light roasts

    I am watching this after putting beans in the middle compartment.

    After making about 6 cappuccinos, I’m realizing the milk is not as hot as i would like. I’m prewarming the cups, too. I’m using cold milk which I think is right. Any suggestions?

      We use cold milk right from the fridge. It seems to warm it up just fine on ours... But then, I like my coffee not to be super hot, so might be a personal preference.

    My c60 cycles between open switch and close switch, when it rinses, nothing comes out, however when I throw it into steam mode to clean (this process goes from open switch to close switch) closing switch throws it into rinsing, and this rinsing part does nothing. No water rinses through main center filling things where coffee comes out from, this basically keeps me stuck in the cycle. Machine broke about 4 months ago and sat since, started with the pump sounding funny, but not pouring coffee. I don't want to send it in for repairs and I can do the work myself I just don't know what needs to be replaced, my guess is pump, I am tech savvy but I've never dealt with a coffee machine lol. Any advice? What could be needing replacement? Thanks for any help in advance!

      Sorry, I have no idea :) Could be the pump... I would call Jura and see what they say. They know their machine better...

      @@madeinbasement got it fixed, turned out to be a clogged water line, calcium. Glad it wasn't the pump that was my biggest fear, probably expensive. Thanks for the response anyway.

      @@5moreminutes208 My machine is doing the same thing. Did you make it run a descale program? If so - how do you make it do that function when it isn't showing on the digital display. Thanks for your help!

      @@kristenb7840 Hello Kristen, so I actually fixed our C60, it wasn't showing any codes, the only thing the display kept saying was "open switch" and "close switch" each time I did what it asked, it didn't do anything to fix it, I tried to find anything online but couldn't and because its not the best time for us to just drop a few hundred for repairs I decided I'd take it apart and have a look myself, at first I was under the impression it had something to do with the pump, some troubleshooting led me to believe the pump was fine, I ended up looking at the actual water lines (excuse me my vocabulary isn't the best in terms of what the proper names for whats inside this machine are lol) so I started removing all the black connecting pieces where the clear water lines connected to, they're the ones that have this metal clip you must remove in order to dis-attach the clear thin water line, I would try to look for anything that clogged the lines, so basically I ended up finding 1 water line that was completely clogged with calcium, I used paperclips and tooth picks to clear the line carefully, completely removed the calcium, and cleaned the entire thing before assembling it back. It ended up being a clogged line, there is a high chance this is whats wrong with yours, if you think you can try to fix it on your own I'd say go for it, if you can disassemble it, its really not that difficult of a fix if you can find where its clogged, I got lucky it was a water line and not an actual motor or anything, I don't have any knowledge in coffee makers but my knowledge of computers and general hardware gave me confidence to attempt this. Had it been a broken motor, there is no way I'd be able to find which one especially if they all even made a sound lol. Sorry for the long message but I wanted to be as descriptive as possible to help you understand what I did to get it working, if you're past your warranty period, you've got nothing to void by taking the darn thing apart, if you're going to send it or pay someone locally to repair it, I'd definitely have a look yourself first, maybe you have someone who can probably help you but it sounds like you probably have a clogged line somewhere i mean if its doing what mine did, I'd assume its because the issue is similar, if you have any other questions let me know, I'd be happy to help to the best of my ability, I don't know about you but I love my coffee, and the 3 months I spent buying instant coffee because of this, were terrible lol. Check all of the clear see thru water lines. If you see any white residue anywhere thats a dead giveaway of calcium build up, good luck hope you can get it working again!
