It didn't even go the full 1/4 mile...you see it crossing the 1/8 mile mark...where the Porsche caught up...but if you look at the footage, the ET clock is next to the 1/4 mile line (which is normal)...but in the "photo-finish"...you don't see it...even when they show the video of the two vehicles racing toward the end...you can clearly tell its the 600 foot mark...because A) its definitely too close to the start; B) its the only clear mark on the drag from the start (the 660 foot mark is the first)...and you don't see the ET clock next to the line....so...did the Tesla truck beat the Porsche in a 1/4 mile drag race, while towing a Porsche...no clue...because we haven't seen that yet...but it clearly can beat it in the 1/8...and given how much ground the Porsche cleared from the start to the 660 foot mark, my money would be on the Porsche in the 1/4 mile
Even more, on some other tests the worse Porsche 2023 911 did a much better time on the 1/8. So, either the Porsche's Pilot was bad, or he was restraining himself. In both case, it's just a fake.
A bit misleading as it has the lead at the 1/8, but the Porsche is gaining fast and will beat it in the 1/4 which is why the video does not show the entire race.

We are a 6 figure income couple and had very little saved and not much cash lying around the preverbal". '...don't have $500 for an emergency" that was us. The big thing was debt all kinds of it, cars mortgage (although our home isn't a high price one), student loans for our kids, and of course credit cards. One day we just got sick of being broke and went total scorched earth and became frugal overnight. Paid it all off, it took almost 5 years but now we have no debt and this year our savings rate is 50% on basically the same income that had us perpetually broke. So for us it is mainly staying out of debt and watching our spending, at first it was a real effort to save in our HISA and 401Ks but now it's actually fun watching our money grow. No car or vacation or neighborhood is worth being broke or financially unstable.

You mean it beats a Porsche 911 over 1/8 of a mile while towing about 4500 pounds. The CyberTruck would beat 99.9% of all Porsches ever made if it wasn't pulling a Porsche and trailer and its truck not a sports car. Don't believe me? I'm a huge Tesla and EV advocate, even though I currently drive a v8 sports car ( still drive a tesla too). This video is can't be true at all, unless the races against a 992 Carrera T M7 which is dumb IMO. Stock a Cybertruck runs 11.0 @ 119 according to Hagerty's tests. It was around 11.2 according to carwow's test against the hummer EV pickup. A stock 911 base RWD according to caranddriver does 0-60 in 3.2 seconds and the 1/4 mile in 11.5 sec @ 120 mph. While the 911 Carrera rwd is cheapest and technically should be the slowest, it is not. That would go to the Carrera T M7. According to caranddriver, they could only achieve 0-60 in 4.0 seconds and 1/4 mile in 12.2 @ 116mph. Now times would be dependent on the driver since it all comes down the shifts. Okay so lets assume a stock Cybetruck does 10.9 because tesla claimed under 11s and the Carrera T does 12.5 because the driver isn't the best shifter. This is all best case scenario for the Cybertruck by the way. The cybertruck is towing another a trailer (lets guess 1000lbs even though it likely is more) and another Porsche which weighs roughly 3300lbs according to caranddriver weights from various base/s/t 992 911 porsches. In other words the the cyber truck is pulling another 4300lbs at least is my guess which definitely adds more than 1 second the 1/4mile. I know that because in carwow's video, they tried to make the race more fair for the Hummer EV pickup by adding 4 additional passengers to the Cybertruck. They were all full grown adults who claimed to weigh about 85kg or lets round to 190lbs. 4 x 190 = 760lbs extra weight which resulted in a 1/4 mile time of 11.5. In this video we are guessing the Cybertruck is pulling an additional 4300lbs. 4300/760 = 5.657. In other words the cybertruck would require an additional 5.657 x .3 (according to the difference in carwow 1/4 mile times with 1 vs 5 passenger in the truck) = 1.69 or lets round down to 1.6 second. So 10.9+ 1.6 = 12.5 seconds. This is literally the best case scenario in every possible way for the Cybertruck just to be equal with the slowest 911 with a meh driver shifting the car. I am going to wait for a channel like Carwow to make a video like this and then I will see if it is actually true. Edit: I just watched the Hagerty drag race and on a prepped surface the cyber truck with 845 HP goes a 11 sec flat for the quarter mile without a trailer and a car. The Porsche 911 turbo s 992 does a quarter mile in 9.9 sec on a prepped surface. It also does a 0 to 60 in 2.2 sec. This is what you call a false advertisement.
Oh yeah, this is absolutely manipulative. The "less than 11 seconds" and taglines "faster than a 911".... What? Around a track? Top speed? Quarter mile? Oh wait, the 911 is faster in every single one of those.
Not saying that Tesla can’t do this, but how do we know that this is not staged? It’s a professionally produced and edited video with no spectators in sight.
And they only show the 1/8 mile. Supposedly the trailer wasn't rated for over 80, so they decided not to do a full 1/4 mile drag race, but they swear it would still have beat the 911.
Looked t the specs and Porsche 9-11 turbo has 0-60 of 2.6 seconds which is same as highest trim tri motor cyber truck. But highest trim cybertruck cost 100,000 while Porsche cost 230,000. So cyber truck is not only faster, but has better value and utility.

Cybertruck cyberbeast has 845 horsepower, the 911 which seems to be a standard 992 carrera has 385 horsepower, but still they did not even beat it in the actual quarter mile, while towing a 911, they beat it at the 1/8 mile. If you compare the Carrera’s actual quarter mile of 11.5 seconds to the cyberbeast’s quarter mile of 11 seconds without towing a 911, you can see that there is no way it’s beating the 911 on the quarter mile while towing a 911! The cybertruck is slow. It has the same 0-60 as the 911 992 turbo S, and has a way way way lower top speed than the turbo S has, even though the 911 Turbo S has 650 hp not 845 as the cybertruck has. while this is really impressive, i gotta say they probably cheated a bit to get this done. if you watch closely, you can see the 911 starts without its launch controle (listen to the sound of the engine, it starts revving from down below also, pay attention to the body movement of the car.) so this would probably beat the cybertruck with its launch controle active. still, this is a very impressive achievement considering it having to tow all that weight. edit for reference: here is a base 911 launching WITHOUT launch controle and im pretty sure this is the same rev pattern i can see and hear in the tesla video. ua-cam.com/users/shortsJb4LaULlXFM

dont forget the fact that this is really just about how fast you start off. and the cybertruck has an electric motor.. so.. you know.. its obviously gonna have an advantage. this is misleading. acceleration is higher but it says nothing about top speed etc. so you are gonna be faster in a short track, or if you go through a lot of curves. but the top speed of a 911 is 330~ kmh. the cybertruck is about 180 kmh if the data is still correct

U do know this is a Porsche Carrera T which is a 7 speed manual Transmission making it the slowest of all 911s,also they cut it off at the 1/8th mile the porsche wouldve won the 1/4 mile
The 911 turbo 0-60 in 2.6 secs recorded 2.2, the turbo s is 2.1 secs, was recorded 1.8 secs. The cyberbeast high trim level makes 2.6 from 0-60, other cyber models are above 4 secs.
Very cool. I assume in a 1/2 mile the Porsche would win. Also, another factor nobody talks about, is the model of the 911. Could have been the lowest performance trim(which I assume it was) , of course a tri motor electric monster will beat it.
i don't really understand the point of discussing how it wasn't a fair contest and the porsche would win if it was. Its a 3t truck towing the car that its racing ffs. The fact that it even holds its own is pretty ridiculous. It just shows the incredible torque that the truck has right from 0mph. Its not really a realistic application of such a truck but such towing power and the car-like handling of this vehicle make it an intriguing application of BEV tech.

I call BS as someone who drives a Tesla and a V8 muscle car.
Wdym it’s just not real? It is. The evidence is right there. If your that upset that you are going to do 2 hours of math then just don’t worry about it.

The concave button for the box cover will have water and dirt puddle and deteriorate the switch. The door handles and charging port cab on the wheel well will definately have dirt and mud build up with use on backroads and muddy conditions and will restrict the covers and latches from opening without pinching on the panels. On second look, the interior has lots of concave panels that are going to hold and trap dirt. I'm sure lots of these will get sorted in the near future.
Uh wait a minute. That wasn't a quarter mile, that was one eighth mile.

You got your notice 5 years ago
The world's eyes peeled @@notl3var long live tesla.
I call BS as someone who drives a Tesla and a V8 muscle car.

I am going to wait for a channel like Carwow to make a video like this and then I will see if it is actually true. I have a hard time believing that a 911 turbo s lost against a fully loaded cyber truck.
Oh wow, a fast BEV, that's truly groundbreaking.
Can't wait to see the results if it was against a 911 Turbo S :)
without the load?
Looked t the specs and Porsche 9-11 turbo has 0-60 of 2.6 seconds which is same as highest trim tri motor cyber truck. But highest trim cybertruck cost 100,000 while Porsche cost 230,000. So cyber truck is not only faster, but has better value and utility.

Probably not that much...but also...most of the vehicles running a 1/4 miles in less than 11 seconds burn ALL of the fuel they put in there.
Probably none of the other vehicles capable of doing less than 11 seconds even have a range near the cybertruck when driven more "calmly".
Love the camera angles, more drag races should have these!
Except the drone shot, the drone should've been wayyyy more to the back of the vehicle (you can only see the front of both cars)
camera angles to conceal the fact that this isn't a 1/4 mile
There is also camera trickery involved the cybertuck is actually in front of the porsche at the starting line that's why there is no overhead shot of the start. The camera is set up at a slight angle to make it look like the front of the cars are in line. and the shape of the cars make it more dificult to see the camera angle trickery. but you can clearly see it when the camera starts moving the porsche is a bit faster in taking off, but the way the camera moves it makes it look like the ct is taking off faster at about 00.33 the ct is about the same speed as the porsche. in the cam angle from the front of the porsche the speed of both cars stay the same for a couple of second at about 02.88 the cybertruck starts going faster than the porsche. if it wasn't ahead at the start the porsche would have even won the eight mile.
It's actualluy quit the angle if you check on google earth you can see the blue piles in front of the concrete walls. and since they are not evenly space with the gaps in the concrete walls you can see exactly which pilon is which and where the camera was positioned and at what angle it's shooting and than you see how much the image is skewed to get the porsche and the ct fronts to line up it's more tha a couple feet so the ct would definitely not win the eight miles the lead the ct has at the end is less then the lead it had at the start.
@@deedikjepijn they do that or else you would see it's completely faked. and the ct is way in front of the porsche at the start
That didn't look like a 1/4 mile track, but more like an 1/8th mile.
Even the soundtrack pulls hard.
Are you going to upload the 1/4 mile footage too?
Specs:
Tesla Cybertruck Cyberbeast:
Horsepower: 845
Top speed: 130mph/209kph
0-60mph: 2,6 seconds
Weight: 6603 pounds/2995 kilos
Quarter mile: 11 seconds
Porsche 911 992 Carrera
Horsepower: 385
Top speed: 182mph/293kph
0-60mph: 4,2 seconds
Weight: 3317 pounds/1505 kilos
Quarter mile: 11,5 seconds
Porsche 911 992 Turbo S
Horsepower: 650
Top speed: 205mph/330kph
0-60mph: 2,6 seconds

So the fact that Tesla say’s that the cybertruck is faster than a 911 on the quarter mile while towing a 911 is completely false.
Send them both around a track, let's see how quickly the Cybertruck gets humbled
You are about to be surprised again.

@@jazzabighits4473 You're delusional. It is not fake, I follow Tesla long enough to know that.
while this is really impressive, i gotta say they probably cheated a bit to get this done. if you watch closely, you can see the 911 starts without its launch controle (listen to the sound of the engine, it starts revving from down below also, pay attention to the body movement of the car.) so this would probably beat the cybertruck with its launch controle active. still, this is a very impressive achievement considering it having to tow all that weight.

Correct me if I’m wrong. I believe the 911 they used is a Carrera T which only comes in a manual transmission.
An electric vehicle vs a manual transmission in a short race…. The manual loses everytime. Impressive nonetheless!
Also the driver of the Porsche had really bad shifts put it against another electric vehicle
The Carrera T usually has the "Carrera T" branding on the door, which is missing on the models shown in this video.
dont forget the fact that this is really just about how fast you start off. and the cybertruck has an electric motor.. so.. you know.. its obviously gonna have an advantage. this is misleading. acceleration is higher but it says nothing about top speed etc. so you are gonna be faster in a short track, or if you go through a lot of curves. but the top speed of a 911 is 330~ kmh. the cybertruck is about 180 kmh if the data is still correct

@zephirol4638 Sorry, I just think it's silly, I mean, it's not much of a flex to beat a 380hp car with an 800+ horsepower EV. Given that Cybertruck has a better power:weight, towing the car brings it down just under the 911 Carreras LB/HP, now take into consideration that one's an EV and the other is ICE. i don't really understand the point of discussing how it wasn't a fair contest and the porsche would win if it was. Its a 3t truck towing the car that its racing ffs. The fact that it even holds its own is pretty ridiculous. It just shows the incredible torque that the truck has right from 0mph.
