I had the same problem today with my 2014.5 Camry Hybrid Limited Edition. As you showed at the beginning of your video, it made a clicking noise when pushing any of the buttons (open/close, up/down), but the motor wasn't working. However, I found an old Toyota Service Bulletin (BO021-03) 'Reset Procedure 4' that suggests, with the ignition on, disconnecting the wire harness to the moonroof motor for at least 15 seconds, then reconnecting the wire harness, then holding tilt-up button until glass assembly shudders, release button, but within 5 seconds press & hold tilt-up button again until it goes through the 'normal' reset procedure. This worked for me, and I did not have to replace the motor. Now working like new.
Man this is gold. My sunroof stuck opened and I was freaked out. This video saved me. I closed the sun roof and ordered a motor. One thing to remember that you have wiggle the motor to take it out as it won’t come out easily ❤❤❤
I can’t thank you enough for this. My sunroof was stuck in the open position. Only video that showed how to get it closed. Definitely not a fan of sunroofs.
Glad to see this posted for this gen camry. Mine doing the exact same thing clicking but no motor. Eventually i got it to close under its own power, but are you saying its a motor issue?
I have an 07 camry. I just replaced the battery. The sunroof seemed to be getting more lethargic as time went on. I was lucky to get the sunroof closed with the motor. Do u think it is the switch or the motor? Also though I dont mind having no sunroof, it also leaks into the car so I have to clean those tubes but i am afraid if i open the sunroof again, it wont close. Should I replace the console switch and the motor? thx
If you have a Camry xse panoramic sunroof get to the dealership immediately before your warranty is up. I have a 2020 but went over the mileage for warranty. New sunroof assembly cost almost 11k with labor.

2 years later and this is still saving lives
Thanks man, you saved me a bunch of headache. I would not have figured this out myself or based on general videos available for other cars.
Worked for my 2016 camry xse. I was finally able to wash my car, my moonroof was stuck and not closing all the way. Thank you for sharing this video!
Just want it to said thank you!! My Camry was on the garage for to weeks with the sunroof open. Thanks to you I closed it

This was a huge help, Worked perfectly on my 2017 Tundra. Now to see if I can find a new motor for under $600 😬
100% on point🎯
Did you have the car running while you did it?
Thanks my guy!
did you try running the motor while you had it out? to make sure it wasnt hung up or something.
Thanks bro 👍

Wonder if this works for a 19.
Is there not a allen screw under the gear so you can just turn it with an allen wrench?
great question...many other videos show the manual place to use a allen wrench

The car's general battery? Or is another special battery inside the motor of the moonroof? Please help with that clarification. Thanks
