    That blur layer is essentially bloom, by the way. In video games, they usually just render it at like 1/8 to 1/2 resolution, apply a quick gaussian blur to it and do similar additive overlaying. Great tutorial by the way, you definitely know how to make some amazing scenes!

    This is cool! I use a lot of these same techniques in my digital paintings and concept art, but for some reason I've never considered applying them to my renders.

    that blur layer thing was ingenious, i didn't know you could do that. also camera raw is amazing, use it all the time.

    Super helpful buddy. Most of this technique I used too. And some are absolutely new for me. Specifically the thing with the blurred layer is a genius idea! Thanks for this.🖤

    your photoshop process always adds a ton of vibrancy and clarity to your images!! is there a way to add the same sort of effects to animations in blender? i'd assume its easier and have more control to do on still images. would love a breakdown of your approach to do the same with short looping animations!

    • @SHAVIM
      @SHAVIM Рік тому +3

      Yes, that's what the Blender Compositor is used for. Photoshop is more advanced and professional though.

      @EmvielleOST Рік тому

      @@SHAVIM i see. would something akin to an after effects, or colour correction in something like davinci resolve be a better alternative?

      After effects is my go to now for video. Much better than the blender compositor. You can also run video through photoshop and use the camera raw filter but there are limits on the resolution and duration. It works for small Instagram animations though

      Browse artstation. Try to recreate other artworks until you get the hang of it. Make a list of things you particularly like in each artwork and build from there

    I use volumetrics all the time but close to the light sources it always gets some weird noise artifacts.
    Do you know what to do about it? Is it just the volume bounces I need to increase?

    Hi Max, I wanted to know as an amateur blender artist (I only use blender as a hobby), would it be beneficial to invest in photoshop or can I achieve nice looking scenes without using photoshop?

    • @ZephrusPrime
      @ZephrusPrime Рік тому

      If you get Photoshop only it will be 10 bucks a months. I am a freelancer and so I use it on every project for many various reasons. If you want to not have to deal with Adobe (which is very understandable) a good substitute would be Affinity Photo which you can own for 50 bucks. Krita is also good and is free like Blender.

    Do you think this could be replicated in the composito? . Because this is mainly just post processing involved, right?

    • @maxhayart
      @maxhayart  Рік тому +1

      Maybe you could get close but i think it would be a lot of work with worse results. Just pay $13 per month or whatever it costs and use photoshop honestly. If you're watching this channel it means you're at least somewhat serious about art so I'd highly recommend just getting it. The ROI of photoshop for me has been crazy

      @@maxhayart Oh for sure. Photoshop is one of my primaries. But i was assuming based on the fact how blender's compositor is evolving especially into real time compositor that maybe in a few updates all we may need will be under a single roof
