I mean Black Hawk Down was made into a movie because it was Americans who were killed, but this happens to lots of UN peacekeepers and aid workers all of the time, while they are performing some insanely complex work.

I heard someone once say if you want to solve world hunger move people away from places where food can't grow. Some places are so desolate there isn't a chance to cultivate and grow food. Change locations so large resources aren't required to deliver the food, that way you can get alot more food.
Not everyone is able to move or are willing to do so. Heck, that town that Silent Hill is based off of is still populated since the residents refuse to move off land that rests on top of an enternally burning hell mine.
