Nice Tundra - that thing is super clean, looks great with the lift and that tire and wheel setup. I just did the Torch add a leaf in the rear with a 2.5” lift in the front using Rough Country extended strut/spring combo on my 07 Tacoma. Also went with a slightly larger AT tire. Makes it look like a completely different truck, I love it - Ride quality is great too.
Thank you! These ones are the 4Runner Trail Edition 17" rims. I found them used on marketplace. Most of the non-trail-edition wheels don't have this nice matte finish, however I'm running Method Roosts now in Bronze, which don't require me to use a spacer.
The shim is not mandatory, but it does make the pinion angle better when you lift the rear. It's an extra purchase, however. You will be likely good without it because if you are running the original springs, they likely have sagged a bit by now, and you will restore the regular ride height, perhaps.
Thanks! I think the 4Runner rims look pretty sharp too. I have an OME kit in the front. I'm getting about 2.5" of lift out of it with the 2885 springs.
What size tires are on your truck? I had 265/70/16 GY Duratrac installed on my 06 but I think they look kind of small, not sure if I can swap them for 285/75 /16. I installed the same lift kit...
At the time I had 265/70R17s on there, and I upped to the 285/70R17s when I installed in the Method rims. No trimming required, just needed to remove the mud flaps.
I re-did the whole front end. I purchased the OME shocks with 2885 springs. I also had to redo my upper and lower control arms, ball joints and lower tie rods. I also added the extended sway bar links from Suspension Maxx. I got everything through www.1stgenoffroad.com/ and had a local suspension shop install the front end. I got about 3" of lift out of that kit, that is now closer to 2.5". No spacers.
I ended up quickly adding a camper shell, which loaded up the springs by quite a bit. So I think the net result was pretty natural in terms of ride performance, but much happier with the height and drop from front to rear now.
It's an OME kit from www.1stgenoffroad.com/#/ I am using the 2885 springs with the 1.5" - 3" lift kit. I also put in SPC UCAs and Suspension Maxx extended sway bar links. While the front end was taken apart, I also had new OEM LBJs, tie rods and LCAs installed. Drives like a new truck! Originally I had only put in the matching OME rear shocks, but then needed a bit more lift to match the front. Had I done it again, I prob. would have elected to go with the 2884 springs given the extra weight I put on my rear with the shell. But it's settled nice now.

Nice! That's awesome to hear.
Your tundra looks amazing! Nice job on the lift.
Thank you! I'm pretty happy with how it came out too.
Nice Tundra, very clean, what size tires are those from Falken? let me know, that's a super nice riding height.
These were 265/70R17s, I've since moved to 285/70R17s on bronze Roost wheels (which allowed me to delete the spaces).
@@danvprod5848 NICE!!!
Awesome truck.. love your wheel and tires
Can you share info please on wheels

I bought the torch add a leaf for a 03 Tundra. Do you have to install the shim kit as well? They weren't included in my kit. Thank you!

Truck looks great, love the 4Runner take off wheels on it as well… I wanted to ask what do you have installed in the front, leveling kit or lift kit?
Thanks! I think the 4Runner rims look pretty sharp too. I have an OME kit in the front. I'm getting about 2.5" of lift out of it with the 2885 springs.

If you lowered your Tundra the axle shims would be installed the other way around right?
That makes sense to me! That would give you 6 degrees in the other direction.
You completely skipped disassembling the leaf pack.
Thanks for your comment! I likely could have captured that a bit better, I agree. Thanks for checking out the video.
What did you do for the front end? Did you put spacers on top of the struts?

how much of a lift you got wit thirst lift kit
I prob got 1.5” but with my old springs and the shell I only got about 1” over stock.
With that extra leaf how does the truck ride empty?
I ended up quickly adding a camper shell, which loaded up the springs by quite a bit. So I think the net result was pretty natural in terms of ride performance, but much happier with the height and drop from front to rear now.
