Lived out in Mammoth for around 6 months this year. The camera doesn't do it justice how gorgeous it is out there. I'll definitely be coming back sometime soon! The wind coming from the west is an annoying daily occurrence lol
Thinking of doing the CA pass challenge next year (big bear gravel 50 and the 102 for mammoth) adjusting to elevation for tuff gravel event the following weekend. This video is helpful in seeing the route and what to expect .
@@sccxvelo that's awesome! I'm glad the video helped you check it out. The elevation could certainly be felt but I had a good time anyway and the views are pretty epic. Good luck on your rides thanks for watching!
Man this was one of the best bike events ive ever done, ended in the top 20 this year, super fun, looks like you guys crushed it, congrats!! The benton cracks were awful and the headwind on the way back into town almost killed me
Great job, guys, and it looked like you were carrying an excellent pace on those climbs! BTW, how steep were those climbs? They looked painful on your Garmin's display!
@@Tanstaafl1976 thank you! The gradient actually wasn't too bad, I think Garmin exaggerates a little on the display, I remember most of them averaging somewhere between 4-6% with one or two sections nearing 8%. The elevation fluctuates between 6-8k feet however so the thinner air makes it feel harder than it would at lower elevation 😅
@@logictd567 that's a tough one, there's things I really like about both rides and I had lots of fun at each, even though Big Bear was a little harder for me. I think I'm leaning towards TDBB because I've done it a few more times and so it feels a little more like a "home game" if that makes sense. I totally recommend both however if you get the chance the scenery is out of this world in mammoth. Have fun either way!
Hahahaha there were! I didn't put them in the video but there was a girl scout troop serving big chocolate chip ones at aid #4 Missed talking with you about zone2 and long stems however. Hopefully we'll see you next time
That's me getting the champagne shower at the end! Great seeing you guys on the course!
@@digivation awesome man! Great job, I had to put the clip in. Thanks for watching, maybe we'll see you out on the road again sometime.

Great video. Finished 2 seconds in front of you two. Jockeyed all day. That wind…..
@@GregLong-g4p that's awesome! Great job. Yes the wind was draining for sure.
Loved it. Your lady is the BAUSS. Strong rider. :)
@@planttheseed2129 hahahaha yeah she's a tough one, I'm lucky 😁🙏
Nicely done! The views on that route look amazing!
@@nme700 yes! The view was incredible. We totally got lucky with the weather (aside from the wind) and had a beautiful blue skies day!

Which ride do you like best? This one or TDBB?
