this song is amazing, its perfect for its cenario first, at the very start of the battle, you see the masked man take damage before the battle begins, this allows you to hear the song for the first time before the battle actually starts, and get a taste of the traumatic fever induced nightmare for lucas that is this battle the song starts off with a rising revving-up-ish noise, this to me makes me feel like its trying to emphasize how cold claus has become, and how he is merely a machine at this point another thing about this initial section is its usage of the heartbeat sound effect, this part is obvious, and the odd glossy(?) augmented chords, adding another layer of creepyness after this section, the song temporarily changes into metal with the guitar, bass and drums playing out this rising tresillo rhythm, i think this is what makes the song sound like its constantly trying to transition into a badass final boss theme like porky means business from earthbound this song is mainly comprised of random noise, reminiscent to the earlier battle themes of MOTHERs final bosses (giegue was just a flatline, giygas is a mindfuckfest), but this time it has a twist, with the masked man's bassline lietmotif playing throughout almost the whole song. the bassline here i believe is representative, again, of how claus is now just a soulless robot, considering almost the whole bassline is just 1 note, like an endless march he has been tasked with performing until the end of the world the loud sounds ontop are meant to represent the irregularity of this situation and lucas having to deal with his trauma, the cold wind sounds, the sounds of boney crying pitches down to an ungodly degree, the whistle, drums trying to pick the song up from the ground, and the chords appearing striking it back down. the chords are specifically seen in 2 songs, "happy town?", the timeskip tazmily theme, and the beta version of the love theme from what i know in the second half of the midsection, you can hear a constantly rising loop of mambo de battle plus (not to be confused with mambo de battle), while the same revving-up noise from the beginning, proving that the song is trying so hard to be normal it pretends to be something else just to not be an emotional mess this is followed by odd choir-like voices on top, one on the right ear, one on the left, the one on the left ear is slightly lower than the other, and they take turns rising and lowering back before changing to a different base note, and the drums come back to increase the intensity, due to the extremely high stakes of the battle and almost sounding like theyre calling claus himself (one of the drums sounds like its whispering the "-us" in claus the loud sounds ontop are also meant to disorient the player if they try to combo it after claus hits flint with pk love Ω, the same tresilo guitar plays yet again, marking the end of the midsection the song starts up again, with the bassline, this time its a little late, and when it does the little up-up-down-down section, it does it twice this is followed by the love theme, with lots of vibrato and just barely not out of sync, while the bassline plays again, but in 3/4, reoeating the last 5 notes of the bassline in half the speed the love theme here is obviously here to indicate the love that claus had for hinawa and the love lucas and hinawa have for claus all in all, this is fucking perfect for a battle of this kind and is surprisingly good for a song thats mostly just random noise
Well if you think about it, Earthbound's was just a mess of screechy noises, and Mother 1's wasn't even a song, This might just be the most normal final boss track in the Mother series.
Yea, a piano, a choras, some noise channel, wind, drums, gong sounds, alien noises, future noises, heartbeats, a sound that sounds like a smb3 airship dcmp sample, yea your not far off

the wildly distorted pigmask leitmotif is a good touch
where? the end is love theme and theres no other section where it could possibly include a pigmask motif
@@fravonzonbonnfirst four notes of love theme and pigmask letmorif are the same so maybe there's some confusion
Its almost like you can hear someone talk. This song just shows how lucas knows who masked man is, doesnt want to attack and doesnt know what to do.
so thiiis is what brotherly love is
Bonding time
you, my friend, have won this comment section
this song is amazing, its perfect for its cenario
first, at the very start of the battle, you see the masked man take damage before the battle begins, this allows you to hear the song for the first time before the battle actually starts, and get a taste of the traumatic fever induced nightmare for lucas that is this battle
the song starts off with a rising revving-up-ish noise, this to me makes me feel like its trying to emphasize how cold claus has become, and how he is merely a machine at this point
another thing about this initial section is its usage of the heartbeat sound effect, this part is obvious, and the odd glossy(?) augmented chords, adding another layer of creepyness
after this section, the song temporarily changes into metal with the guitar, bass and drums playing out this rising tresillo rhythm, i think this is what makes the song sound like its constantly trying to transition into a badass final boss theme like porky means business from earthbound
this song is mainly comprised of random noise, reminiscent to the earlier battle themes of MOTHERs final bosses (giegue was just a flatline, giygas is a mindfuckfest), but this time it has a twist, with the masked man's bassline lietmotif playing throughout almost the whole song. the bassline here i believe is representative, again, of how claus is now just a soulless robot, considering almost the whole bassline is just 1 note, like an endless march he has been tasked with performing until the end of the world

in the second half of the midsection, you can hear a constantly rising loop of mambo de battle plus (not to be confused with mambo de battle), while the same revving-up noise from the beginning, proving that the song is trying so hard to be normal it pretends to be something else just to not be an emotional mess
this is followed by odd choir-like voices on top, one on the right ear, one on the left, the one on the left ear is slightly lower than the other, and they take turns rising and lowering back before changing to a different base note, and the drums come back to increase the intensity, due to the extremely high stakes of the battle and almost sounding like theyre calling claus himself (one of the drums sounds like its whispering the "-us" in claus
the loud sounds ontop are also meant to disorient the player if they try to combo it after claus hits flint with pk love Ω,
the same tresilo guitar plays yet again, marking the end of the midsection
the song starts up again, with the bassline, this time its a little late, and when it does the little up-up-down-down section, it does it twice
this is followed by the love theme, with lots of vibrato and just barely not out of sync, while the bassline plays again, but in 3/4, reoeating the last 5 notes of the bassline in half the speed
the love theme here is obviously here to indicate the love that claus had for hinawa and the love lucas and hinawa have for claus
all in all, this is fucking perfect for a battle of this kind and is surprisingly good for a song thats mostly just random noise
this took me like 20 minutes to type out
why does it sound like a airplane taking off, I can’t stop hearing it please help
Anyone else get chills from 1:35?
its the sound i heard in my nightmare when i was little
If you listen REALLY close, you can hear the love theme
Essa música dá um desconforto enorme. Perfeita para a proposta da luta final.
a comunidads brasileira de mother e maior q eu achava
0:48 is like the end of Happy Town? And 0:57 is like that one Mambo track.
Flint: "The Masked Man is Claus..."
Me: *Tries to act surprised*
here it comes...
This is one of the weirdest final boss tracks i've ever heard

This song is anxiety
why are the comments acting like a live chat
if everyone is here at the same time it might as well be a live chat
the moment I realized guarding makes your HP decrease slower-
Oh my GOD, Flint, how did you survive TWO PK Love Q from Masked Man?!?!
Did you find a way to extract data for the pitch bends?
Might be recorded gameplay
this hurts me
