your new to me and do more things I won't get into but I do know about. My opinion for pink lady is legend. I've quilted for 50 years, and I'm on my 4th english paper pieced project. But I have just this last year and a half picked up cross stitch, and have planned on some full coverage pieces for the next new year. This year I've made a cross stitched piece for each of my grandchildren. I also knit and crochet. Made 3 shawls and a sweater this year, started a summer tee, but I'm well known from my family for childrens hat and sweaters, and men and women socks, I just finished a pair of knee highs. Looking forward to your shop, do let me know of any sales.
As someone who's been working on Stroke of Midnight off and on for literally decades, I want to *weep* at the thought of anyone using masking tape to frame it. Not that I turn up my nose at big box framing for the most part, but I know how much work went into that piece..I'm so glad its with someone who'll love it. Your projects and enthusiasm for them are, as always, inspirational. I watched this over a number of days just to prolong the joy. :)
I think Legends is the way to go-you need a good contrast for the pinks and purples. I stitched that Teresa Wentzler probably 15 years ago and gifted it to my niece. It was a fun stitch but it took forever-and this was back in my days of monogamous stitching (albeit when I had a long commute and worked long hours).
Oh, I know Bernadette Banner! I was interested in that waistcoat project but I saw the price tag and passed, so I'll watch your work vicariously! Did you ever watch the 1900 House TV series? It had a modern family live like Victorian age people for three months. There's also a multi-part UA-cam channel on making flax. I think about that before I complain about the cost of embroidery linen...lol But yeah, I love videos about making yarn the old fashioned way, etc. The amount of hand work to make things and how precious these items were...it is hard to appreciate today.
@@kimedge7493 I haven’t seen that but I’ll need to check it out. Yeah, can you imagine how rare fabric would be today if the processes required to create it weren’t automated?
I still have a fingering weight cardigan on the needles that I started in fall of 2020. I will finish it eventually. It doesn't help that it's moss stitch with cables, so I work on it a bit and then I get tired of having to pay so much attention and set it back down. I'm feeling the Berry Cobbler, but I also think the 2 greys you rejected (Castle Walls and the one before it) would look great because grey really makes pink pop in my opinion. Also, I have to tell you that when you were moving stuff around to get to the fabric bin I wasn't looking at the screen and the first time you said "sorry, I just moved you" I heard MOON instead of moved and was like WHAT!?? 🤣
I love the idea of the berry cobbler and think it would be stunning, but your purples might not be super super visible. Legend is gorgeous and would show off all the colors well, but Berry Cobbler has a vibe that is just classy. Legend is very bright and cheerful though. So depends on the tone you're going for...obviously I'm no help lol
You can rag on big box stores all you want. I had a horrid experience getting something framed at a big box store. I now use an independent framer who has something to lose if they do a terrible job. I like legend fabric for pretty in pink. I was thinking a green for that pattern. I think the contrast with the green will look really good! I have an alpaca farm down the road from my house and she uses them to sell wool. I wonder if she has a fiber club. We just went their to see her alpacas and I never asked her about the wool because I'm not a knitter. I'm curious now.
I think that Legends would be the nicer color, because the contrast wouldn be eough so Pretty would dance off the background. Cobbler would be nice, but Pretty in Pink would have to fight with the colors so they don't kick her off the background, and I'm not sure that the greens would show up well. This is just my opinion....but Pretty is going to be a smashingly wonderful stitch, no matter what!
Your mermaid is gorgeous. My vote is legend. Love all the different crafts you showed. Happy crafting!
Your emerald Mermaid is gorgeous! ❤ Thank you for sharing!
I personally think that Legend would be the way to go for Pretty in Pink.
Berry Cobbler for sure!!!

There’s also a yarn store in Harmony, PA called Chicken Knitz. I haven’t been there yet, but they are fairly new to Harmony. Maybe just a year.
@@RaineyDayReads thanks for the tip! That one is new to me.
I vote for Legend!
Your Emerald Mermaid is stunning. The frame is excellent. As for Pretty in a Pink, I think Legend really makes the colours pop.

That was fun to watch thanks
I’m watching this from the Pittsburgh area on Aug. 20 and it’s not supposed to get above 66° today! I don’t even know how to handle this. lol
@@RaineyDayReads it’s been so beautiful! Enjoying it while it lasts lol.
