A Caterham as fast as a McLaren Senna?

- Split-screen comparison of laps of the Silverstone GP circuit. Could a Caterham really be as fast as an 800PS, £800k, McLaren Ultimate Series car with 800kg of downforce? Surely not!
The Caterham is a Rotrex supercharged race CSR powered by a Boss Racing Duratec 2.5, good for 365bhp. The power to weight ratio favours the Caterham but not much else does. The Senna packs a carbon chassis, carbon brakes, active aero, active dampers, traction control, ABS, you name it.

Lovely Lightweight... What a pleasure to see👍love the MC as well... Best British Engineering
What is your differential? Titan lsd ?
Xcite_Seven Caterham yes Titan. 👍
DrPittenstein Check by rrtransmission ??
Silverstone is a highspeed track. Suprising that the caterham is somewhere near the Senna.
Yes very surprising. It can't be faster on the straights (170mph vs 150mph) so it must be faster in the turns and on the brakes.
What tires was the Caterham on?
PieterA Kumho Ecsta V70, road legal.
@@DrPittenstein Even more impressive. Goes to show.
@@Vonstroke yes car is much faster now on the latest 333 compound Avon ZZRs, we are usually finding 2 secs a lap compared to times we set on Kumhos.
Is that Harris driving the Senna? Makes the Caterham even more impressive if so, since he's obviously no slouch.
Yes that was the fastest lap of Silverstone GP by a Senna on UA-cam. By several seconds. Harris races a McLaren GT3 car with the owner of that Senna.
