This concert was a collaboration with NRK, the Norwegian public broadcasting company. The orchestra and choir were theirs - many European public broadcasting companies at least used to have such.
This means majority of the audience was actually behind the screens in their home, and sound engineering was done with that in mind. NRK obviously has tons of experience in how to mic and mix their own choir and orchesta and how to bring that expertise to random locations. But nonetheless, a huge undertaking and a job well done.
As for the song, this is one of those pieces that the band itself composed around a symphonic orchestra and choir to begin with, not a retrofitted piece, which is why it all works so damn well.

    Great reaction!
The female singer is Agnete Kjølsrud, from the band Djerv. :)

Its always great to rediscover an old band. Especially when they have evolved in a really great way. I had a similar experince with Katatonia several years ago, and they've gone from a good band i listened to in high school to my favorite band of the past couple years.

I'm glad to see that you appreciated my proposal. It must have been crazy and it was in their city. As you said, yes, it's changed since the old band that sang in Norwegian. But what band that has lasted over time has not evolved? For me it's still Dimu Borgir but with music better work and done with so much intelligence. It's no longer just making noise just for the sake of making noise. I'm sure everyone there is a place we found it to be powerful.

Hey dude! My friend shared this video with me because I made a video about the same track! I watched your reaction, and I have to say, it was really cool. Since you like Dimmu Borgir in the early days with the heavy sound, maybe you could check out ROTTING CHRIST's 'For A Voice Like Thunder.' It is a slap in the face. Thanks for the amazing content! Best from Brazil \m/,

This is by far their most overrated song. I wanted to like it because they finally came out with an album like 8 years after kicking out Mustis and Vortex, but it’s just so terrible.

It isn't a bad song by any means... but yes it is overrated because people hype it too much. It isn't in their top 10 songs even, but it's still a good song. I get where you're coming from, and I agree that it is overrated, but I think you haven't actually given it a fair shot

@@myfaceismyshield5963 it’s not a terrible song, and there are some great parts. I’m just not a fan of the girls singing, also not a fan of Shagrath vocals on this whole album. And to me the choir is unnecessary. The orchestration is pretty good though. Guess it just bugs me that this is always the first song people listen to from Dimmu, when it’s just not great.

@@monilsen wtf... after the Puritanical album they went a bit softer and it only became more soft... no Barker, no Vortex, no Mustis... Dimmu is boring nowadays
