    The video maybe 5+ years old but it couldn’t be more timely now that Ford has canceled the fifth wheel prep package on the superduties for 2022.
    I could not ask for a better video as it was extremely well detailed and the gentleman putting it all together did it like he had done this 1000 times already. Thanks again for putting this video together

    A great example of how a quality product is backed up by stellar customer support. Excellent video! One tidbit of advice to make the job a touch easier is, as the instructions state, go ahead and slide the latch pin position handle up into place right after loosely attaching side plates and before the cross member brackets. Much easier than trying to fiddle with it later after more hardware is in place and difficult to jostle out of the way. The handle stays out of the way during the remainder of the installation. Thanks again! Nice to know there are still some excellent manufacturers left in the USA! I will send more folks your way!

    That nut over head of the DEF tank is a bear! Good lord what I would have given for a lift or just taking the bed off. Dropping the exhaust down is an absolute must (if you want to make your life easy) if you’ve got a 5” system. Ashley Johnson is a gem. My kit was missing the washer plate and she overnighted me a replacement. Fantastic install and great customer service.

      Thanks for the tip. I am, installing this today, along with Air Life airbags. I am ashamed to say that I have a lift in my man cave, and will remove the rear tires and the spare for a cavernous work space. I also but Bilstein shocks on, since it is allegedly hard to get at the right rear after the gooseneck hitch is in place.

    I just installed this kit on my 21 super duty. This video does a great job of showing you how to do the install. I did the install on the ground. The only thing I removed was the spare tire. It's pretty straight forward. The bed in my super duty even had a factory pre marked divot where I centered the 4in hole saw. Nice kit for sure. Definitely recommend it.

    Chris, I just put the center section in on mine, and I think that you have a specially lightening and hollowed out center section, or you have gorilla dna. That was really tough for me to get in place and bolt in due to it's weight.

    I know that was a long time ago, but can you tell me what the name brand of the tires there within this video are?

    So is the 1116 and 1117 the same other than the inner brackets?

    • @BWTrailerHitches
      @BWTrailerHitches  Рік тому +1

      Yes, sir! The only difference between the two kits are the inner side plates. The side plates were not included in the GNRK1117 because Ford welded the inner side plates in on the 4x4 models from 2017 up until May 2019 (and some here and there after that). If you have the welded in inner side plates, you won't need to use those included in the GNRK1116. If you don't have them, you'll just use the ones included in the GNRK1116 to bolt everything together.

    Do you use metric fasteners or standard?

    If the center plate is recessed a tad bit into the truck bed, can I loosen the four side bolts, push up on the center section and then retorque my outside bolts to correct this issue? My companion hitch has the rubber feet on the bottom of the rails and I have to take those off for the pin to engage and lock on to my setup.

      @BWTrailerHitches  Рік тому +1

      Hello! Thank you for reaching out. The GNRK1116 is slightly recessed slightly to help prevent galvanic corrosion between the steel hitch and aluminum bed. For a proper Companion setup, you will want to make sure that the rubber runners are installed and resting between the bed ribs.
      We checked with our installation experts further, and they've suggested putting a little grease or paint on the end of the latch pin in the gooseneck, installing the Companion, and then pulling the latch handle and allowing the pin to snap against the socket. This will indicate where the pin is striking. The pin diameter is approximately 1/8" and it has been confirmed that the socket holes can be re-ground through the two outer sides of the post. For further questions or if you would like to discuss this directly, please feel free to reach out to our team at the number below:
