Those leading edge slats were my dad's invention. He called them contrafoils and they allowed a plane to continue flying at less than normal stall speed. You can slow-stick it as slow as 22 mph. You could overtake it with a bicycle! That would make a good video. 😅 I think the 30 mph is clean. But the Storch has slats and slots and flaps. And that would make the stall slower.

I think we need to see this one in the air! For such a light weight plane with no thrills it really has a strong place in history; both military and aviation. Look forward to the flight video!
Keep the paint, it is on the tail for historical accuracy.
Cry about it
Why would you remover the swastika? I know is has bad meanings but it’s for realism, and it takes away from models to get rid of it in my opinions.
WHY DOES EVERYONE LOVE THE NAZIS
Because its a hate symbol and nobody wants to see it, youre giving a hate symbol way more importance than it has.
@@xavierrodriguez2463 the symbols meaning has nothing to do with is.
Models are supposed to be accurate representations of their historical counterparts and their appearances.
You shouldn’t wipe away pieces of the aircraft just because of the underlying meaning of a symbol.
I understand we shouldn’t be displaying these with proudness or flying a nazi flag, but a BF-109 does not look the same without the swastika on the tail. I don’t like swastikas, buts it’s part of the plane and should be represented accurately.
For example, if you took the insignia off of American ww2 planes they would look very odd and would not be accurate to their real life counterparts. I know these insignias had different meanings, but the point is these planes just do not look right without their proper markings.
I’m not a nazi but it was a nazi made plane, and imo should be represented as such.
But then it's not an accurate model just leave the ࿖ be and stop getting soo touchy over a symbol that was stolen the flipped from a religion@@xavierrodriguez2463
Plenty of posts on this subject but I will weigh in with you . I am finishing off a 2-5 metres Storch and it is an ARF from China. As it came there was no swastika on the rudder so I thought that I would add my own but then the government of Australia recently legislated that adorning any flag , clothing .vehicle etc would be a criminal offence. So I don't know if I can put one on my Storch but my RC club hasn't specified any policy about this so I guess I'll test the water soon and make it an easily removable one.I think if you couldn't put one on a model aircraft it's just another inroads on a citizens liberty
Do not take the swastika off! It's a part of history, U don't need to agree with what it stands for to respect history!
That's a reconnaissance airplane.
in regards to the swastika, I for one value the freedoms of expression that the first Amendment affords. if you lived somewhere in europe, it would be agaisnt the law to display the swastika. its not like that here.
Don’t take it off it’s history it’s not like you’re gonna die or anything. That’s a literally a church symbol to. It’s not a Nazi symbol.
Angry mustache man's happy windmill
Built specifically for STOL(Short Take Off Landing, in flight on take off, looks like an elevator.
I'd replace the symbol with an Iron cross. It gets the "German Aircraft" point across without causing any issues. Thats one heck of a model you snagged
Or just leave it, because it’s a model, and it’s accurate 🤨
Keep the historical symbol. Stop censorship.
Keep it,
Its a historical model its ment to be accurate if you take it off it wont be historical anymore
@@superpizzaman5562the model is clearly not accurate. Seems like that cross is very important for you, what about the other details? Why is it not a problem that it lacks accuracy?
Why would you take that off as part of the aircraft and it’s a historic model?
yeah
I bet you could guess why
@@pada443 then it wouldn’t be historically accurate
@@Firmfoundchristian2325 It's already not. The real plane was much larger and didn't run on batteries.
@@pada443 technically is because there is a modeled exact detail replica of the actual aircraft
This aircraft helped Mussolini escape capture in WW2
They now make an ultralight version of the Storch which takes off in ~100’ and lands in
That paint on the tailgate. Yes that’s gotta go. But leave the rest. Can’t wait to see it fly
Yeah cus we need to censor everything it literally a historical model why would you remove it
History doesn't need to be destroyed nor do things representing historical vehicles or people and flags don't unless they're being used in a racist tone unlike the Confederate Battle Flag which everyone lacks the intelligence so realize isn't the actual Confederate flag look something up before you start calling a racist assholes actually know what it is and if you don't will you have no right to judge it because you have no Intelligence on it
@@Gniggaaai think youre being sensitive, triggered over someone removing a literal hate symbol from a thing they bought. Its not some rare one of a kind aircraft it's literally a toy
@@xavierrodriguez2463It's a WW2 German plane that has replicated the paint scheme and everything. It's not like the S is there out of nowhere. How is he being "sensitive and triggered" by wanting to show proper history? If anyone is triggered, its the ones who want it taken off because it offends them.
Those leading edge slats were my dad's invention. He called them contrafoils and they allowed a plane to continue flying at less than normal stall speed. He and my older brother tested their design on a radio controlled home built plane. It would not stall as long as the engine kept some forward motion
A German ww2 scouting plane, this plane was seen in the Movie T-34. On account to it being a historical model please leave it as is!
“F-eyes-ler Stork”
it’s historically accurate you don’t gotta remove it i mean it’s your plane but i wouldn’t
I haven’t gotten your videos in my feed for about like 6 months now and you have come so far from the like 15k subs you had when I last saw you
That plane rescued mussolini !
You can slow-stick it as slow as 22 mph. You could overtake it with a bicycle! That would make a good video. 😅 I think the 30 mph is clean. But the Storch has slats and slots and flaps. And that would make the stall slower.
I modified a foam Cessna 172 with flaps and slats. Didn't work too well with the slats as it had a semi symetical wing. Flaps worked well though
The friendliest way to keep the historical accuracy is to make the swastika an “x”.
Design wise it looks very similar to a larger version of the piper cub. Amazing find. Would love seeing one in person.
If memory serves, the leading edge slats were fixed, not variable, though they continued to be made in France post WW2 and perhaps they then made them variable
That's the trainer that's crashed in the great escape I believe
I’m getting one one my birthday 🥳 can’t wait to customize it
I'm so glad I've subscribed to your channel. I get to see the cool things you see and do, and it's very enjoyable learning about RC planes and watching them fly. I bet the Storch glides thru the skies like a warm knife thru soft butter... 😊
Youre one of many people trying to erase the past just to allow it to repeat this very year with everyone turning a blind eye
Why would you change it? Take it back
It’s called a stork, because it resembles a stork with its tall landing gears.
I volunteered at my local hobby shop for my senior project, man that was awesome. I used to have an S scale layout and Richard the owner would let me take something home for my layout everyday. Sadly the store is no longer there :/
the back💀
Wow that British S.E.5 fighter looks amazing
Nah the tail 💀💀💀💀💀
Awesome plane! I miss the days of having a local hobby shop that sold RTF planes on consignment!
The swastika was actually a symbol of good luck that originated in South Asia. BTW The airport in Denver, DIA is laid out in the pattern of a swastika, no shit.
everybody calls it DIA but it is really DEN; look at your sectional map... still features segments of the chaotic baggage system!
@@henrytowne7463You're right! But, you can say that about dozens of major airports in this country; Lindbergh Field-SAN, etc.. The name of the airport vs. its FAA 3 letter designation. Denver International Airport, or DIA = DEN.
@@reggierico I've got binders of sectionals back to the early 70's. I know of many conflicts iatta code vs airport names. A little history... The first DIA was Stapleton for abt 65 yrs. as DEN. In 95 the second DIA opened named Denver International still FAA id DEN. It gets wilder in other countries; standards are not.
Like how OP is getting dragged lmao
Yo that’s awesome so you have any f4us?
I came in for the comments about the tail and I was happy to see most people understand that it should be on there for historical purposes and authenticity. The younger generations keep trying to erase anything and while it might be uncomfortable, that is the purpose of remembering history.
That’s an iron cross, it’s completely fine it’s like the Soviet red Star
Im not even into this hobby but if I found a store like that with those prices I definitely would be going home with at least 3 planes😂
That was a scout plane the German used in the 2nd World War.
