carpetexpertblu... in this video I show how to cut a carpet seam then how to burn a carpet seam To purchase the tools used in this video check out carpetexpertblu...
thos lines are not always straight rolls could have been crushed, stretched or latex could have set up differently on backing this is why you cant use a factory edge for seams
Do yous over america use many other types of carpet? All the seam videos look bang on with the carpet yous use but do yous ever use loop piles or 80/20 wool? Cheers
Daniel Latimer thanks for connecting! Yep yep other installers over here like to work with that hard stuff but me personally just like to work with easy affordable plush carpets
Hey brother, appreciate the videos. Super helpful. New to the carpet game. My question is: does the seam tape need to be continuous? Or can it be in more than one piece when seaming?
Jared Opoka thanks for the connect!! Welcome to the biz, you want it to be continuous but if you have a bunch a seam tape balance pieces you can line them all up and create a continuous piece. Feel free to reach out with any other questions and I just dropped a new video on how to make fast cash with carpet Repairs. If you haven’t seen it yet consider checking it out at carpetrepaircheatcode.com
Don't use multiple pieces a true professional would never do that, take pride in your work and do it the right way. Rediculous people like this are passed off as professionals
This is the worst way to seam. Just for starters, the 2 pieces of carpet are not running the same way- the "grain" goes in different directions. Use a straight edge when cutting straight lines. Discard the information on this video, there are better videos that are recommended.
Your seam looks good. I do have some questions though. How were you able to move the carpet like that to marry up your seam. I thought usually seaming was the last thing you do after the carpet has been stretched and tucked? Have a good day.
Your seam looks good but the fact that you have a video of this implies that people that may be watching have no idea on how to seam carpet, let alone install it. I'm a professional and literally never have done it the way you have shown, I always use a straight edge. Even in a door way when I do a trace cut I just make three marks use a straight edge and a kicker if I absolutely have to while I do the seam. I can't believe anyone cuts seems freehand that claims to be a pro
you have a very steady hand! impressive how nice you cut that seam without a straight edge!

At least someone understands why straight edges are a to thing
You might want to put some seam sealer
I just put on piece under the other and put 3 marks with my knife then cut it with a straight edge but if that works too that it's all good.

You never explained how to find the right lines, cutting it with a knife is self explanatory.
I just followed this video and cut it 3 times and it is still too short 🤔
