Thanks for uploading this review and demo as well as covering the aspect of the coil ears during the assembly process. I think that Minelab has a leading "Value:Performance" ratio winner here!! Happy hunting!
@@bigfootfinding7019 by the time I got my detector and realised that the place I thought in wales is a see turned out to be a big river 🤦🏻♂️🤣 and by the time I drove to beach near Bristol it was dark, I still went to the beach to figure the machine out but I was on top of loads of rocks and probably a electrical cable 🤣 The detector was screaming like max even after all the noise cancellation and grounding. But today Uk one going to a Sandy beach. And I know how to set it up, and should be a hour or two of light for me. Next week I’m off so I’ll probably make some videos too haha
Looks like a nice unit. I am presuming the headphones are not waterproof/water resistant? Not a fan of that rubber insert though. I don't have good luck with rubbers. Especially where I live (Thailand), high UV and working in salty conditions occasionally, it's just a matter of time until the rubber needs replacing and good luck easily acquiring one. You mentioned it's good value for money but didn't say what it costs? Please include pricing at time of recording information.
That's a very very good point! Although I have found very little information about whether they are waterproof or not, I would say that the pair that comes with the machine are not waterproof but they can be purchased for around the same price (£129 or there abouts). The X-Terra Elite is currently £459 new and the Expedition Pack is £589 new, giving you the smaller coil and the headphones for £130. The 8 inch coil is £115 so is virtually free with the additional price of the headphones. I completely understand your thoughts on the headphones, although the weather is much cooler here in the 🇬🇧, when we have hot weather they do get sweaty. We need a 3rd party company that creates moulds of silicone or similar, that can just be slipped on and help the quality, as I'm guessing Minelab won't change this design? Description will be updated shortly, thanks for pointing that out!!
@@bigfootfinding7019 Certainly does seem to be a lot of "bang for buck" at that price if the machine performs as well as it appears to be doing in your testing. A great unit to get into the hobby with. Competitively priced, good performance, robust and easy to understand/use. Reminds me of the Quest X10 in many ways - another unit that is great value for money and ideal for people starting out. Thanks for adding pricing info. I'd be a bit nervous to test the 5m waterproof limit I have to be honest, but I'm rarely more than knee deep in water anyway, so that would be fine for me (and probably most people I would think). People looking for something to take for underwater "scuba" searches would probably look for something more specifically designed for that. It's reassuring to know that if one is working in the rain the unit will not be affected though. 👍
@2000jago most definitely!! Certainly a great bit of kit for the price, having the 3 year guarantee is a godsend too! Yes, that's true. It's quite like the x10 and the q30+ but with more extras, I'm going to have to do a little depth test on it! Test out those deep tone settings too.
It certainly is!! I was amazed by the watch winder find, for such a tiny little item, 4 inches is quite deep! I'm going to have to do some depth tests with it, as it will be very interesting to see how far down it will go.
@@bigfootfinding7019 It's alot to do with stability and ground tracking if it has the brain of the Vanquish it'll find most everything with waterproofing and li-ions to boot. That'd be interesting thankyou
Definitely! It's a crazy good machine, that has the speed, the silencing and the brains. It's going to be a game changer, especially when you can pick one up for well under £500!! I want to know, what you had written about my 15 inch coil now hahaha!
The Nox or Vanquish with comparable coil sizes seem matched, disregarding personalisation through settings. The only one that I see could go deeper is maybe the Manticore but that has a behemoth of a coil as std, using more power to get it. What sized coils will you be using to make the comparision ? Best wishes re your health debacle btw
@66DMJC thank you, it's been tough and now we have a sickness bug in the house 🤣🙃 I have the 8 inch, the 12 inch and also the Equinox 800 15 inch. Will have to compare them and also double check the claims that they will work on the X-Terra Elite!
unfortunately I haven't found any and don't own any gold to test this, but I would imagine similar to foil which is a steady low number ie 10-20 but will vary depending on quality and thickness etc

It certainly had to be mentioned!
As stated, I've personally never had an issue, but I'm well aware that the issue was quite bad for their press.
I got mine today, just got to go pick it up and all my gear! Can’t wait will have a hour of play today! Wish me luck
Ooooo amazing!
Good luck!!
@@bigfootfinding7019 thank you mate!
