Quitting nicotene basically removed any sort of anxiety and stress I had in my life. I forgot what it feels like to not need a substance constantly. The first week is the worst. If you get past that your gonna be fine

I just relapsed after 36 days of being nicotine free due to stress from studies. I’m actually surprised to see how little it did despite going for the highest dose I previously used. It’s not really much of a nootropic or a fun substance compared to the detrimental effects it has. It’s not worth the constant pain and cravings for a few minutes of ‘cognitive enhancement’. Wish me luck guys, I hope I’ll get rid of it for good this time.

Nicotine can be a little b***h my friend. They say it’s harder to kick than heroin for a reason. It’s such a short high/buzz that it causes your brain to constantly crave it. Nicotine addiction is nothing but your mind playing tricks on you to try and get you to relapse until it completely consumes your thoughts (not to mention lungs). That ‘cognitive enhancement’ is nothing but BS marketing and can easily be recreated using meditative breathing techniques. I’ve been clean for who knows how long and still get those stupid fkng cravings but I’d rather eat delicious food and get fat than smoke my life away ever again. Best of luck on this hell of a journey.

As a user of zyn 6mg for the last 6 years. This is sad to see. I am free of the addiction now 140 days. Here is the dark side nobody shows. ED, high blood pressure, less endurance, mood swings, major gum bleeds, loss of enjoyment in anything outside of nicotine. Sobriety from ALL drugs and stimulants is so sadly understated, most will never know the freedom it gives you in all areas of life. Been off all caffeine and nicotine for just two weeks after my sleep and mental health being in the gutter despite eating super healthy and staying moderately active. I couldn’t stop smoking until I quit drinking coffee, and couldn’t stop drinking coffee until I quit smoking, they had to go at the same time. Sometime addictions feed each other.
My mind and spirits has been restored, thank the Lord, I’m telling you all.
God + Sobriety + Righteous living is true freedom!

I almost think nicotine is harder to quit than anything. When I quit hard drugs I was doing it because if I didn't I would've died. When I quit weed it was because it was destroying my life and holding me back.
But with cigarettes there are rarely any instant horrific side effects or scares or fears. So we end up stuck using nicotine for a mild buzz, physically addicted and for what? It's so frustrating yknow?
I don't even smoke too many cigs a day, probably 5 or less, but why keep doing it when I've quit everything else? 😭 Even the action of taking out a cigarette, vape, pouch, gum it's an addictive ritual. We get fixated on the action alone which becomes addictive. It's a crazy loop. Definitely highly addictive.

I've been able to moderate pipe smoking -- usually 1-3 bowls per day. I rarely feel compelled to go above that because my palate tires of it. I don't know how much nicotine I'm absorbing from it, but suspect it's more like a micro-dose since I, like most pipe smokers, don't inhale and it takes upwards of an hour to consume a bowl. I feel a mild elevation of mood, but not a buzz like cigarette smokers describe (I've never had one myself). For me at least, it's less addictive than coffee/caffeine. I will skip the pipe entirely some days, but I can't fully function without at least a couple of cups of coffee or some other form of caffeine. From the pipe smokers I know in person and online, my experience is fairly typical; although, there are some who will chain smoke his pipe all day.

I've been addicted to nicotine for 10 years and honestly i've never felt any of the positive effects other than fullfiling the needs that addiction to the substance has created itself (like feeling less stressed because you satisfy your cravings or just being able to connect with other addicts during a ciggie brake or in the other social circumstances). In my opinion (and in the opinion of the smokers i've been talking to) it's the most stupid addiction you can actually get into since it brings nothing to the table. If you were a regular smoker and you were able to quit for some time and then smoke one cigarette after a while you propably would feel absolutely nothing excluding pleasant taste of earthy/nut flavour you wouldn't experience if you a smoke regularly since your tastebuds ain't working the same way and maybe a little dizziness. Even in my hometown there is a homeless guy that would do every drug on this planet and still he would say he ain't that stupid to smoke cigarettes 😂

Yup! I addressed that at the end of the video.
Low dose patches, or low dose gum/ mints. I suppose you could go low dose nicotine pouches but those and gum are a bit risky. All safer than vaping in my opinion.

Also I'd like to share 2 tips for chainsmokers who like to get high:
      1. Focus on quitting weed first and see the benefits of having a clear mind and feeling fresher.
      2. If you really feel the need to be intoxicated after a week or two, have a few beers and chain smoke instead, you will realise you never liked weed - you actually are addicted to chainsmoking whilst intoxicated!
One step and day at a time, we got this!
*Alcohol is dangerous but using a few beers in the short term can be helpful to show you reduced brain fog from intoxication!

Nicotine was the hardest drug for me to kick (Cigarettes, Pouches, Gums, Black and Milds, Vaping), finally kicked that 2 1/2 months ago from a 30 year habit, and THC was the easiest (1 month ago). Quitting alcohol and caffeine at the same time 2 months ago got me off nicotine, and I was able to quit THC shortly after that. I relapsed the most on nicotine.

This is crazy to see. I have struggled with nicotine addiction since I was 13 and I’m 44 now. I’ll quit for long periods and then relapse. I’ve gotten it done from a pack a day to very tiny amounts and only occasionally for the last 2 years but I’m still using, even if it is quite a low amount. I wish I had never even tried it. It does nothing really for you and if you don’t keep it in check you can get out of hand with it quite quickly. I really like this video.

Hi thank you for this video timing is perfect, i have pretty severe ADHD and in the past i really didn’t want to be medicated with stimulants because of health reasons but now im failing to fulfill my duties in life i find that caffeine and nicotine can be very helpful but i worry about all the problems you just described so its a toss up for me because idk what is worse caffeine nicotine or adderal i know i need help from doctors and EF therapy but i dont have insurance rn i know you aren’t a psychiatrist but man you would make a good one if find that i have to do alot of work on my own to figure out how to take care of myself because of my mental health like yesterday i wanted to have a drink or a smoke 💨 so instead i went to the gym but i ended up doing like 70mins cardio until i threw up 🤮 yeah its better than drinking but man i do struggle to moderate at the same time being totally sober and healthy my mind still isn’t capable of doing what i need to do in life

    • @funkywarrior3906
      @funkywarrior3906 Місяць тому

bro im totally on the boat with you, no worries brother, i would say try to moderate everything at the beggining, i mean, try to moderate now, do not go to excesses, because we tend to do that sht, now, so for example, instead of cigarette, vape, instead of superloaded coffeees, just a few a day and medium, fvck adderal, and excercise will always save you, always has saved my life, i will say this is our way out, to become addicted to the fitness life, i am actually like that already, but im still struggling with the nicotine, used to do a lot of drugz, now i only vape nicotine, and a lot of exercise and coffee, but its so much better than all of the other sht, so just moderate yourself, and do all the basics to the best, like eating good, sleeping good, good hygiene, all the good stuff, i believe in you and me brother, take care, send you peace!

I find it almost impossible to quit everything as daily I look forward to some sort of stimulant like caffeine, preworkout, cigar, etc.. I feel like I can't get dopamine from just living a normal life like when I was in high school I didn't do anything addiction wise and I wasn't happy.

I think I’m gonna push through Friday with the patch and try going nicotine free on day 8 this weekend.
