  • In marine environments, it is important to follow the marine pipe marking color codes and standards. These standards are defined in ISO 14726, and are broken down into several different groups. The format of these pipe markings is a main color, which is split up by a second additional color. The main color will indicate what group the substance of the pipe is and what it is used for, and the secondary color will indicate what the actual substance is.
    In this video, I will show you these Ship pipe color coding and what does this color code means.
    Black colored pipings. Black pipes in ships is used for WASTE MEDIA.
    Blue pipes in ships are used for FRESH WATER.
    Green pipings. These group is use for SEA WATER.
    Brown pipes in ships is use for FUEL.
    Gray colored pipings is used for NON-FLAMMABLE GASES.
    Orange code piping is use for OIL OTHER THAN FUEL.
    Silver group piping is use for STEAM.
    White piping group is use for AIR IN VENTILATION SYSTEMS.
    Red colored group of pipings is use for FIRE FIGHTING or FIRE PROTECTION.
    Yellow coded pipings are use for FLAMMABLE GASES.
