My favorite thing to do is sample a single source, and highly manipulate it, making a complete track. It isn't easy, and you really have to manipulate the heck out of the sounds, but it creates an overall color that's hard to deny.
Truly exceptional. Your workflow on the Digi is amazing. Nothing more inspiring than watching someone who knows their device inside and out, bred from a love for it. So happy have stumbled on to your channel!
I love the subtle variation via the LFO to slightly change the sample start time....really cool. Your personal sound library is awesome, great sound design. This track is so simple but it doesn't sound like anyone else and that's what it's all about, your own voice! .So glad I found your channel, looking forward to experiencing more your other UA-cams.
That's an incredibly inspiring workflow! Thank you for sharing, man. I'm gonna have to try these techniques in my own projects. Love your dusty, punchy sound :)
BlankFor_ms yeah, i mean, theres a few good tutorials round yt ... just to get to know the basics and an overview... including yours, so... but i‘ll read it. Super stoked...
Thanks much for this video. I just got a digitakt. Are those sounds that you loaded in yourself? Or did they come from the digitakt? Mine only has 64 sounds. The last one is a:064 not alone
Congrats on the new Digi! I made the sounds in this vid, using tape noise and the filter/envelope. Btw many of them are available as audio files in my Bea.ts sample pack, link at the bottom of the description
Thnxx dude. This video is really all the basics u need! (I really hate all the videos on youtube where people talk the first 6 minutes about their fucking liveset)
Loooove this! Thankyou so much! Do you record your own samples from the instruments directly into the Digitakt? Or so you record into computer and then transfer to Digitakt? I want to make sure my own samples sound as good as yours :) Thanks!!!
Hello you sound like you are from the UK? I am in Cambridgeshire. Im not sure if anyone has ever told you, My friend, but you are a very good teacher I for one would love to see a beginner's guide to the DT, I have had my own DT for 2 days now but only had time for an hours practice, You explain things very well and a new Sub from me but i would love to learn more from you. I hope you have time to do a video and also more tips and tricks, Many thanks Steve
i’ve been looking into tape machines, i was asking bc i’m not sure what would be a good beginner synth to get that warm, lush, ambient sound. i’m really intrigued by the digitakt tho that’s why i asked. my budget is around 7-800 bucks
sunsetdrive • you can use it as a digital mono synth, it works pretty well that way. And, that takes up just one of the 8 tracks. Though, if you want a synth the digitone might be a better option.
Love the look of your videos man, you've managed to properly bring your Instagram style across to this format. One thing though, I reckon your voice could use a little de-essing, your esses are a little harsh!
@@BlankFor_ms your voice reminds me a lot of Red Means Recording for some reason. I just got a Digitakt and found this video super interesting. I still haven't checked out Eurorack yet, how do you go about syncing the modules with the Digitakt? I assume a module that accepts MIDI in so that clock can be sent, but then where does the clock go from there, CV and sequencer modules?
This is the first video that I have seen that makes me actually think about this instrument. Nicely done. Very creative. Just a totally original feel.
the lfo on sample start time is such a genius idea! Thanks for sharing your secrets with us!
... absolutely.
Out of the hundreds of digitak videos I’ve seen, your fingers slap trigs the hardest. :)
One of the best videos on digi, mainly because of your incredible taste and sounds. Nicely done
My favorite thing to do is sample a single source, and highly manipulate it, making a complete track. It isn't easy, and you really have to manipulate the heck out of the sounds, but it creates an overall color that's hard to deny.
That's the most organized sound browser i have ever seen here on youtube. :D Love your music and highly appreciate these videos.
Fantastic. I watched like I was going to tested on it later! LOL Great job. Learned a lot.
Truly exceptional. Your workflow on the Digi is amazing. Nothing more inspiring than watching someone who knows their device inside and out, bred from a love for it. So happy have stumbled on to your channel!
Appreciate it! Love the Digi. Many more vids to come 🙏🏻

High praise from the Digitakt King!
Thanks for the video! I just ordered a digitakt today. Excited to mess around with it :)
This is the single most helpful video on this. I've watched like 4 times already.
modulating sample start of the kick a.k.a. a nightmare for the DJ 😂
but great video!
Something you can do is P.lock the start of the kick to be right on the beat at the start of every bar for example
That last beat had a heavy Black Swan by Thom York vibe to it, loved it!
good song
that LFO on the starting point isn't just syncopation. that's some psychopation forreal. hardcore trick!
Really like how thick the layers are... Helpful to see that
That LFO randomized sample starting point thing ... brilliant.
Nice vid-thanx for posting. Got me inspired to post some heat myself
Do it 👏🏻
That final beat was insane…
Thanks a lot for the video, I really liked it
Very inspiring! I Will
Unpack my digitakt soon
Really helpful with you taking the time to walk us through you’re workflow, especially as I’m new to Digitakt.
really nice composition! and that thing's a beast!
Great video! - Even if you don't care about the digitakt - lots of great beat tips
Great video, I must say your visual quality is the best I've seen...very impressive.
The Digitakt never looked so good. Lol
Great video! Thanks for the ideas, tips and techniques!
Awesome tutorial and sweet beats
Wow, man, your music is awesome and techniques are useful and inspiring. Instant sub
Really appreciate it
Very inspiring to see how you work with noises and the LFO to create grooves. Thanks!
Cool beat, might be getting this guy soon, thanks for the great demo and walk through of your process!
Thanks for sharing ! Keep up the good work ! By the way your samples are amazing
Vim Vim thanks so much
Perfect Video... thanks! Just ordered the DT, hope i wont be too confused ...
Fabian K. Take it slow, read the manual...it’s worth it
BlankFor_ms yeah, i mean, theres a few good tutorials round yt ... just to get to know the basics and an overview... including yours, so... but i‘ll read it. Super stoked...
Kind of Perfect!
Awesome video and some good tips! Thanks
Is the source material you are using for your drums content that comes with the unit or is it custom stuff you added in yourself ?
Very good! Thank you for that!🤗
brilliant job!
Nice vid! Your sounds are great at as always.
How did you get the sample to load immediately to the track??
Thanks much for this video. I just got a digitakt. Are those sounds that you loaded in yourself? Or did they come from the digitakt? Mine only has 64 sounds. The last one is a:064 not alone

So with you, I want YT vids get straight to the business
oops I'll try
Loooove this! Thankyou so much! Do you record your own samples from the instruments directly into the Digitakt? Or so you record into computer and then transfer to Digitakt? I want to make sure my own samples sound as good as yours :) Thanks!!!
Jamooshoe I us Elektron’s transfer program to move samples from Ableton to the Digitakt. That said, recording straight into the digi works great.
Great video can use all in your sounds with the sound browser in every project? You just start with a new project with stock sounds?
13:40 this sounds super nice
That's the digi passing through the resonator section of MI Clouds
@@BlankFor_ms what kick are you using in this part? .. cheers
Where do get those noise based samples from? like the kick so much and the other samples.
My sample packs 🤷🏼♂️ gumroad.com/blankforms
Love it! How do you prepare your samples? On the Digitakt or in your DAW? (The latter way seems easier, I think).
More workflow videos on digitakt please!
@13:40 - That sound I will make when I have eaten hot spicy food the day before 😅
What camera and audio recorder are you using here?
great video, chill beat, what brand 1/4 cables are you using in your output? they look nice
Hosa rean 👍🏻
Why does this channel have so little subs?! You deserve so much more attention
Good call, didn't realize I hadn't subbed yet, also who's doing a thumbs down on this... haha
blank is kinda big on insta, I guess yt is just not his main gig
@@mishpult I know but his YT deserves at least as much as his IG
Hey this was lovely!
You said you downloaded your own sample packs onto the Digitakt?
Definitely, you can check them out here gumroad.com/blankforms 👍🏻🙏🏻
love this vid though :) thank you so much very helpful

Certainly an American accent. But the .ms domain is Montserrat, a British territory in the Carribean. So he's probably Chinese.
Great stuff! Always something to learn on this gem 🍄
would u recommend the digitakt to a beginner who’s looking to get into ambient tape loops? if not, what synth would u recommend?
For tape loops, buy a tape machine! Tascam probably. For a synth, what’s your budget?
i’ve been looking into tape machines, i was asking bc i’m not sure what would be a good beginner synth to get that warm, lush, ambient sound. i’m really intrigued by the digitakt tho that’s why i asked. my budget is around 7-800 bucks
@@sunsetdrive_ Check out the Jogging House Digitakt videos, here on UA-cam. Might help you make up your mind.

is this a song on one of your albums?
@7:57 i fly like paper get high like planes, something somethin shomethin i got visas in my name
👏👏👏 Great Stuff! Subbed!
Wow
new sub! more dt tutorial please!
So James Holden-ish!
Big Actress type vibes
Don’t hold your breath waiting for tips. Just a ride along to a composition from scratch
That took ages!!!
you the best!

Nice hardware but looks complicated
Just the other day, i found out i have the clap. No reverb tho. Just the clap...🤔
from nothing to something!
that is so unmusical. nice tech exercise but has nothin to do with music
