Pinball powder coating peep show. 😂 How does the powder coating handle the pitting from rust? I have a set of legs in a similar condition for my homebrew build but wasn't sure if they'd need extra work.
It handles the pitting very well. The blasting helps to flatten the pitting. It is the chrome that bubbles up over the rust and makes the surface seem uneven. The shot blasting removes all the chrome and flattens the surface. The actual powder coat is quite thick (by coating standards) and covers a multitude of sins. Cerekote, for example, is much thinner and requires a much higher quality of base material finish to appear smooth. Those legs Kris got done had quite a lot of rust on them. They were nowhere near perfect to start with, but the powdercoat finish was great. if you really want you can get them shot blasted and then hand finish the surface before getting them powder coated but it may not result in a much better finish.
The quality and turn around times at Aurora are brilliant. Dave is a top guy 👍🏻
I designed that lockbar, nice to see how the powder coat came out!
Really good job on that design. 👍
0:52 I love how you really enunciate the L in walk :)
Love your videos, really appreciate it!
My pleasure mate, thanks for watching
I’ve used Aurora for my classic car parts. They’re very good. The brothers were a couple of years above me at school.
They're good guys.
My wife.........."wtf are you watching?''......me......a bloke powder coating pinball legs............
It was bound to happen!
