The Ed Sullivan Show was a television variety program that aired on CBS from 1948-1971. For 23 years it aired every Sunday night and played host to the world's greatest talents. The Ed Sullivan Show is well known for bringing rock n' roll music to the forefront of American culture through acts like Elvis Presley, The Beatles, and The Rolling Stones. The entertainers each week ranged from comedians like Joan Rivers and Rodney Dangerfield, to Broadway stars Julie Andrews and Richard Burton, to pop singers such as Bobby Darin and Petula Clark. It also frequently featured stars of Motown such as The Supremes, The Temptations, Stevie Wonder and The Jackson 5. The Ed Sullivan Show was one of the only places on American television where such a wide variety of popular culture was showcased and its legacy lives on to this day.

A good portion of this episode was devoted to the three singers performing here. Besides this collaborative "Ode to Autumn" medley, Eartha sang "Torah Dance (Ki M'Tzion)" and "In the Evening When the Sun Goes Down", Julius sang "A Fine Romance" and "The Way You Look Tonight", and Jane sang "C'est La Vie" and recited "I'm in Love".

Wow I never imagined this trio before, but it came together quit beautifully and charming. Jane Morgan and Eartha Kitt are known for having very distinctive voices and singing in different languages, it came together great.

I was the MC for Julius LaRosa when he toured on the supper club circuit back in the late 1980s. I worked with him at several venues in the Detroit area as well as at Swingo's-by-the-Lake near Cleveland. Carmel Quinn was with him for a few nights. Crowds were sparse. He was a fine performer but his popularity faded as times changed.

Yes. By the late 1980s La Rosa was in his late 50s. He had made a name for himself in NY based, live television in the 1950s. When rock music changed the recording business and television went to scripted shows produced in CA, the changes impacted his career.

These were three regulars, each having appeared many times on the Ed Sullivan Show. Great camera work keeping the correct singer in close up.

I think all three of them came straight from a bar after draining the bottles of their contents and slapped this production mess together. Ugg.
