I like the desk. Is it used for memoires? What sort of memoires could you write in a place like this? "Today I sat in the beige chair, for approximately 4 hours, before moving to the mottled yellow one for another 2 hours. It was at this point in my life I noticed the fireplace needed another log therefor selecting a specimen and placing it therein. I then took the opportunity to gaze at one of the yellow lamps on the mantle before selecting a book from the bookcase, which I've most certainly read at least three times a priori, called, Quiet Room with a View, about a gentlemen who writes memoires regarding a small room with a very nice view. To promote a slight modal of excitement I elected to read the book a thrice while pacing the lovely burgundy carpet forthwith tripping over a small green staircase partially obscured by the corner of the screen. But the reader shan't bother themselves about my wellbeing as I straightaway righted myself, sat at the writing desk, and as I've done upon many occasion a priori, picked my nose for the remainder of the evening." - signed, Edward Enboggleston the 4th, Esquire.

I like this ambience video very much (I often play it long hours when I am working office work home) but must say, I was surprised to hear birds with such a winter outside the window! Home birds, maybe?
I am sorry, I see that my comment may have sounded unnice or unpolite. You see, I live in a nordic country, and right now we have a very similar winter like in the video outside the window. In my experience, even in unwindy snowy days, it is utterly difficult to hear birds singing, even though there are some species that visit us every year (we even feed them with seeds). The fact is that birds seem to be willing to sing only in sunny days, and the rest of the time are somehow mute, or make only warning sounds. However it is, I really enjoy the video and I am thankful to the author for making it (I am right now working and listening). Goodday to everyone and stay safe!
I feel this is among the best ...so good!💕 I have had this kind of library at various times in my life and yes...for me it helped the thinking process ...🤔probably because I am more relaxed😍 Thank you for the great reminder.😊

I was waiting eagerly for your new upload and I wasn't disappointed! I love that you list the sounds also, it feels lovely just to read through, it helps complemnt the visual and aural experience - and it also signifies how much hard work is added in each video. And this new one - I feel home, not in body but in soul - I feel my longing for peace, and the possibility of observing without any clear purpose, just to experience time, and the world subtly going its route around me, it would be possible here. Thank you immensely for this experience again!
I've fallen much behind on responding to comments (due to a succession of winter viruses, unpleasant but not alarming), so it is only now that I'm responding to your beautiful comment, which resonates deeply within me, touching my heart & soul. You have such a perfect way of expressing the feeling I hope most to capture in these creations: "observing without any clear purpose, just to experience time, and the world subtly going its route around me." Thank you sooo much for this very beautiful study, and very nice not to have very loud raining noises, just love the quietness of the little fire in the grate, sooo soothing.. Keep up the inspjring work you do for us Paula in uk
I’ve had such a depressing couple days and now while I’m organizing my paperwork (which is always very stressful for me) having your channel/video has melted my stress away. Thank you sharing your creativity with us 🙏🏽❤️ it helps so much
It is my honor to be able to lighten your burden at least a little bit. I don't know all of the hardships and stresses you are facing, but whatever they are, know that I offer you now my sincere, warm-hearted encouragement to keep going.
@@ambienceofyesteryear6871 You are a blessing 🙏🏽❤️ Thank you
this feels so safe here. and not just this but all of them are brilliant. thank you.
Dear ambience of yesteryear,
I want to thank you for giving my boyfriend such amazing videos to sleep to. He really admires your work!! Ambience videos really relax him and he describes you as one of the best he has ever found. Please keep doing what you are doing. It has given us some amazing and relaxed afternoons. I really love how you emphasise all the sounds you can hear in your ambiences, because I have a hard time really feeling an ambience. Now I am really able to feel and touch everything. Thank you so much for doing what you!! And please keep doing it❤️❤️❤️. We loveeeee your work!!
I never expected that posting my videos here would turn out to be so fulfilling and bless me with such richness of joy and gratitude -- but my heart is overflowing, because I have been given some insight into the lives and kind hearts of such beautiful people. Thank you for being one of these beautiful people. It is a gift for me to know that what I've made can be part of your everyday life. Thank you so much for your lovely comment, and please thank your boyfriend, too. I wish you many more relaxed afternoons. :)
love the sound of the pen writing some notes haha love it
This video has been a lifesaver during a year of working from home - love the sounds and the animated image is beautiful. Thank you for creating this for us to enjoy.
I concur...the fire sound is the best I have heard....lovely..
This is helping me fall asleep instead of doing school work 😴
Aaah this is the perfect background for working ! Exactly what I needed, thank you ! :)
It makes me smile whenever I see a comment from you, even before I read it. Illness has delayed my response to you, but I am nonetheless delighted by and grateful for your thoughtfulness and encouragement and kindheartedness, as always. Just now, my heart sent out a wish that your work will always be fruitful and fulfilling. :)
@@ambienceofyesteryear6871 Aww you're the kind one ! >< I'm sorry to read you were ill, I hope you're doing better now ! And may I ask your name ? :)
@Moonlight Cottage ASMR - Truth be told, my health is always very poor (though my life is nonetheless joyful and rich and much-treasured, I assure you!) -- I am still in the process of recovering from this winter's long succession of viruses but am struggling a bit less now, yes. My name is Helen, by the way. Yours is Diane, correct? I had a very dear, beloved friend named Diane who passed away several months ago, so that name is particularly special to me. I am pleased to have the opportunity to introduce myself to another beautiful Diane. :)
@@ambienceofyesteryear6871 So glad to meet you Helen ! I'm sorry for your friend and for your loss, really... I'm sending you all the good vibes I can so you can get into Spring with a better health :)
This video and all the sounds included is pure magic. This fills my soul with happiness. Much thanks to you 💕📚
This is the best.
I think this vid is absolutely the best, Ambience of Yesteryear, absolutely superb!!! Thanks so much for it!! :)
(Writer´s Library from the 30´s , or Victorian Christmas are great too, but for me, this is absolutely the number one!!! )
That's very kind; thank you so much. This is the video I play during most of the winter season, so I'm glad to know it is special for you, too. :)
@@ambienceofyesteryear6871 It´s absolutely special for me. Thanks so much to you. The sound is incredible and perfect, the best for reading/studying... Peacefull, balanced, strong enough to cover some other noises at home... And even image too, a wonderful library, I could even watch it for hours! :) Thanks!!!!
Warm and cozy!
I absolutely love you videos. They are so soothing and wonderful to look at.
I was admiring the window view, thanks to calmed by nature this is simply perfection. I love your choices of room decor :D and it's really ... can't think of a word... delicious... like dark chocolate and coffee.
Wow this is stunning! Fantastic work. I love it. I have it on in the background, whilst I work, and listen to a lecture on UA-cam.
This is so kind of you to say; thank you! What was the topic of the lecture (if you don't mind satisfying my curiosity :))?
@@ambienceofyesteryear6871 Thank you so much. You are so sweet to ask. It was a lecture about the Biblical perspective about CERN opening a portal, by Anthony Patch. I read and listen to many different theories and ideas. I'm reading comparative theology and occult esoteric mystery teachings. I look forward to viewing many of your other ambience videos, they are so nice to have on in the background! :-) You are really very creative and artistic!
Soooooo cozy.
Erstklassige Studie ! Geschmackvoll und romantisch ! Sehr gut gemacht und die Stimmung ist echt und stark. Danke ! Beste Grüße aus Deutschland ! Heiko !
I'm not much for Victorian period but Edwardian yes. Electric lights and steam heat. Very well done.
I'm glad to know that it suits you, Richard. Thank you. :)
This is my favourite winter ambience video! I absolutely love the fire sound, it's so calm and relaxing. The scene is just so cozy with a hint of brightness coming from the outside window! Just perfect!
Love the Victorian-Georgian-Edwardian eras
Very talented and amazing to look at. Thanks.
You are so kind, Sandra, so I hope you will pardon my much-delayed response. Thank you for taking a moment to put your kindness into the world!
This makes me want to fire up my fireplace as winter is on it's way. At least this one here does not need to be cleaned!
Absolutely Wonderful! Thank you for doing this!!!!
I have PTSD and use your videos to visualize safety in place of intrusive memories. The subtle audio and detailed settings feel so believable that they immediately put me in a safer and quieter place. Thank you!
I cannot begin to express to you how much your comment means to me, how deeply meaningful and soul-nourishing it is. I have always hoped that my sharing videos here could be useful, at least a little bit, to at least a few people (I have actually never wanted to post my videos publicly and only agreed to do so at the urging of my friends, who convinced me by insisting that this could be an opportunity for service), and I am ever-more grateful and humbled to learn that (some) people do indeed find them useful, sometimes even in ways I had not imagined. You do me a great honor by allowing my videos to help reorient you toward a quiet space of safety. It is a privilege and a gift to me to be able to offer you something that you can use in this way. Thank you for granting me this.
Also, I have noticed your responses to a couple other commenters (on this video and the medieval monastery), and I want to thank you for the kind, intentioned, enriching thoughts you have shared. I have the feeling that our outlooks may be similar, and that we may be guided by similar principles. This feeling of resonance and kinship is also a gift. :)
This video is incredible. I use this to fall asleep and it makes me feel like there's another person in the room, going about, writing and flipping pages..and it makes me feel a lot calmer! Really love your work on this vid. Tq so much for sharing!
I don't know who you are, but I love you. This is marvellous, from the picture, to the sounds, to the description of the sounds. You are going to save my degree.
Your kindness is making me blush. :) I'm so happy that my video has been useful and well-suited to you. Whatever degree you earn will be entirely your own achievement, surely, but I am happy to keep you company in the process. If you don't mind sharing, what is your field of study?
So very beautiful! Thanks 😊
I regret that I wasn't able to reply to you earlier, but please accept my thanks for your kindness. It is appreciated.
"I'm home from work,
my family and I've had our
evening meal and we are now
unwinding after a long day,
my wife is in the library reading,
the kids are either reading, playing games or whatever
and I am here in my den,
reading and looking outside at the snow covered yard
and it's still falling all around very beautiful,
my wife brings me some coffee and some cookies
then returns to the library to read,
I can faintly hear the kids in the distance and i return to
reading and my coffee and snack,
the clock strikes 10:00 and it's time to retire for the night,
the wife and kids are already asleep by now
so take care, stay warm and dry,
Goodnight and God Bless you and your family,thanks."-🤗..
If you were in an English Edwardian home you would be having biscuits not cookies! ❤️😊
My book would lie open and unread as my 🐈 and I dozed peacefully in (should it be in or on) the chair.
Angela Clements ON 😊
Just subscribed to your channel. I must say your videos in HD quality are amazing. Such high level of detail.
Thanks for introducing yourself as a new subscriber, since it gives me the chance to welcome you warmly. :) Thanks also for your kind words; I'm glad you enjoy what I've shared here.
using this to write an essay thank you so much
one day i'll build a room life this for myself

This is absolutely stunning!!! Thank you so much ❤️
I'm so happy I found your channel! Each one of your videos makes my imagination wander.
If this is a place where your imagination wanders, then I am so happy you found my channel, too. :) Please let me greet you as a new viewer: you're very welcome here!
I Love it ! Thank you
That actually looks like my own living room.
Wow lucky you, I wish it was me riding that saddle so to speak 😋✌🌻🐰
I love this room💛
Thank you. 💛
This is amazing. Your ambience videos are my favourite. Thank you so much!
That is so kind of you to say. Thank **you!**
Is there room for a single bed, and more bookcases? I am ready to move in today.
Exquisitely fine-tuned for relaxation. A wonderful balance of the spontaneous and the sublime. Excellent work.
I am honored to receive such high praise! Thank you, Nick.
Very nice and subtle calming sounds. Love the graphics as well. 💆♂️
Very soothing.
It brings me such joy to know that you found it soothing; thank you.
Thank You For Making This It's So Relaxing And It Makes My Day I Can See Myself Writing In That Desk In Victorian England In 1850
I know my response is quite late, but thank you all the same for your kind comment; it made me smile. :)
Love this room!
Goodday to everyone and stay safe!
at 28:35 did anyone else hear the whispering? It's lowkey creepy but also oddly comforting
It's what makes it enjoyable to study at a library for me! I use google meet to sometimes just get that vibe with my friend. :)
Ach wie schön:)
Bild und Ton, herzlichen Dank.
I feel this is among the best ...so good!💕 I have had this kind of library at various times in my life and yes...for me it helped the thinking process ...🤔probably because I am more relaxed😍 Thank you for the great reminder.😊
Oh, how lucky that you've been able to experience this kind of library; I'm only able to visit in my imagination. :) I'm grateful that this video could remind you of a happy place and, I hope, happy times in your life.
Your rooms/places are some of the most high quality and realistic on UA-cam. And your sounds are authentic too,
Edit: I noticed Calmed by Nature did your background as seen through the window, they are another of my faves! Glad you too work together!
It's so perfect... I would love to work at that desk. So cozy, so relaxing...
This room is beautiful ! Thank you :)
Thank you so much, Alexandra. I wish I could let you take a seat at the desk in real life, but since I can't do that, I can at least invite you to visit this room whenever you wish in your imagination. :)
I love this so much, I cannot tell you.
Beautiful! Thank u😊
Please accept my belated but sincere thanks in return. :)
You have such a perfect way of expressing the feeling I hope most to capture in these creations: "observing without any clear purpose, just to experience time, and the world subtly going its route around me." I read that and feel myself melt into recognition and understanding. Thank you so much for your presence here; it is a gift and a blessing to me.
@@ambienceofyesteryear6871 Thank you so much for your kind words! I was obviously not able to come back right when I wanted to, but my last few days were physically and emotionally very trying, and I felt that I am blessed to have something that I can always return to, where there is so deep and rich sense of dense calmness - your videos! I hope you have fully recovered and are fine now! I will now sit down in this room and blend in gently to the experience of being one and the same with the world as it goes on. In everyday life, the pace of time feels sometime brutally swift or slow, but here it is gentle, it lets you feel, see and understand. thank you!
To quote an old Ambrosia tune "nice...nice...very nice".
I must thank you for broadening my musical horizons, Peter, because I hadn't heard this song before but just now listened to it with a smile on my face. I hope someone or something will bring you the same type of smile today. :)
@@ambienceofyesteryear6871 I went back and listened to it after your post...I forgot how good a song it was. After all these years its still soothing, healing and upbeat so thanks for the thanks!
Heavenly! So cozy!!:)
What a wonderful video. I really needed something like this today to relax. Thanks friend! 😍❤🙏
I wish I could have responded to you right away -- and I'm sorry it has taken so long -- because your very last word, "friend," touched my heart deeply. I do hope that, by sharing this space together, we create some of the connection, mutuality, and goodwill of friendship. In this spirit, I will thank you, friend, and wish you relaxation, contentment, and peace.
@@ambienceofyesteryear6871 You are so sweet. Amid so much evil and sadness that I live, I find peace in your videos and your words. I am happy to have found a place where my soul can rest for a while and recover the strength that is your channel. Continue with your beautiful work. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. ❤
This is so lovely and relaxing. In such an ambience you could have put in a ticking clock, and for me that would have ruined it completely because *I HATE TICKING CLOCKS* 🤣. They drive me insane 😱😱😱😱😱. So thank you so very much for not putting a ticking clock in this beautiful video.
found out your channel a few days ago and I dare to say that is one of my favourite of its kind! Your content differs a lot and makes it unique! The specific video though makes me feel very calm and concentrated on my study!Well done!
Ah, this is delightfully charming! I appreciate you putting this out!
Now, if I could just exchange the portrait of the gentleman above thte FP for something of my choice, it would be perfect!
Sublime !
