Talk about a cliffhanger! Please tell me the building has planning permission and isn't applying for retention that would be disastrous!
It's pretty cool seeing all the behind the scenes stuff and owning up to the learning experience of not having enough supplies or what an opening can actually look/feel like from the owner's perspective. Thanks for sharing this!
Just went at the end of July. Seeing the difference between your soft opening and the more polished version of what I saw was amazing. Great job guys, keep it up!
Dang Phil and his cliff hanger
it felt like top chef sgv
I have been there twice already. I love your mapo tater tot’s. PLEASE don’t change it! I read one review on yelp that complained it was too salty. That’s how it’s supposed to taste! I’d even eat a bowl of dry noodle with it lmao
this comment made me hungry omg i wanna try!
The raw, the messy, the wins and the losses --- I love the passion and the heart that went and is going into this business! ✨you guys are stars and such an inspiration -- thank you 💛
LOVE how real this is! Can't wait for more videos about your cafe venture 😙
Im from NYC area and visited LA end of July and got to stop by their shop!! The corn milk strawberry and carrot matcha tea were absolutely delicious. The decor is beautiful as well!! Its interesting and somewhat heartbreaking seeing all the work that went into creating the cafe, what goes on behind the scenes... but I loved the cafe and you guys deserve all the best. Thanks for sharing guys!!
Just wanted to say I really appreciate the hard work you guys put into this boba shop. Honestly one of the best spots I’ve ever been to. The watermelon oat drink is the best!
This is such an awesome series ^ - ^ I am looking forward to the next part! Congratulations again your accomplishments!
What an important message! There’s so much that goes into becoming a business owner- most is not glamorous but just hard work and elbow grease!
Next time I'm in LA I definitely wanna check it out!
incredible to see it all unravel. Lots of love from Canada! New travel destination for me to mark on my agenda :D
ive been waiting for part 2!!! i love watching this series cause i actually want to open my own cafe one day!
but ahhhh i wanna go to your cafe next time im in cali!!!
Wish I could visit but Australia is a bit far away from the cafe :’(
Jasmine A sameeee
Same
We'll just have to sit and cry into our mediocre Australian bubble tea/boba
@@meg.lee97 I think the bubble tea in Australia is pretty good tho? Where are you in AU and what places do you frequent?
Saaaame
I legit passed by it without knowing I was in the area and I yelled cuz I was in shock and then like my dad yelled at me cuz he thought there was a bomb
Lol what?
Jordan Liu lol Jordan
I'm coming to LA on Sept 18 and Bopomofo is first on our list to visit the moment we leave the airport.
Phil, please be working that day!! We wanna see you again! We last saw you for the Yappie Toronto screening so it'd be nice to be in your place!
THE SUSPENSE! Oh my gosh I waited so long for this part 2! Please release part 3, 4 all of them now! Lololol
When I saw this show up on my subscription feed, I clicked it within a heartbeat... Love this series guys!! Keep it up :)
what a cliffhanger oh my! excited for the next one. i hope it comes sooner 😣
Love these videos! I’m from California but I live in Korea and my parents recently moved to Idaho. So I’m nowhere near here anymore. But I’m hoping to fly into LA this winter so I can stop by the cafe and then go see family in California. Yes, I’m gonna partially plan my trip to the US around this cafe.
I love boba, good food, and have been watching WongFu for forever. So I wanna go so bad!
Phil: "I think it's going according to schedule."
Eric: "...no plans, no schedules."
The amount of effort y’all put in this is extraordinary. I can’t wait to visit your shop soon! ❤️
Reminds me of when I cleaned an old restaurant out with my managers when she opened up her new restaurant. Just crap every where, regulations every where and worst of all old customers everywhere. However props to you Phil for not announcing the cafe until you were happy with it, online. Anyone of your fans would have ran down to that cafe if you announced your soft opening.
I kinda wanna open a cafe after watching this something about it is just inspirational
is a dumb idea to open a restaurant
So insightful, can't wait for the next installment! That cliffhanger ... ahhh the life of business
Restuarant business is extremely demanding, whether you're serving food, drinks or both. Operational structure, product consistency and time for everything to develop and fall in place. That's my opinion and from experience.
Wow congrats and I know and understand the pain, my business partner and I just opened a playcafe 9 mos. ago here in North Vancouver, BC, Canada and it is a true roller coaster, emotionally and physically! But nothing beats the feeling of finally opening your doors, seeing customers and getting to know them as time goes by.
Add oil and I hope I can come and visit one day!!
All the BEST for this business venture!!! It would've been AWESOME to see it and support in person!!!...
My friend and I are definitely coming here when we visit LA in Feb!!!
I hate cliffhangers lol!!! Congratulations!! Can't wait to see what's next, things will only get better😁😁😁
Yay! Finally, part 2!!! :D
I had the chance to visit the cafe recently! Loved it! Lovely staff and good food and good boba!
Really enjoying these videos. They're as inspiring as they are frightening, haha.
Oh man... this reminds me when I go my BFA in Culinary Management and people just came in because they watched the FoodNetwork. Luckily you have a following but food cost/sales (hopefully at least 28-30%... 33% is ideal), waste cost or (x) which can also correlate to user error, over stocking/ under stocking (fluidity), health code (varies state to state); Thats the scary part. However it seems like a passion you're reaching for and I rooting for you! First two years will be scary but ya'll overcame other trials and tribulations so this should be a new venture to overcome!
excited to see part 3!
Phil must've thought that he was releasing a short film and so he gave us a cliffhanger. lol.
Thanks for keeping it real. Keep up the good work.
I tried to go when I visited! San Gabriel is just too far from LA :/ will for sure try to make my way there when I visit SoCal again!! Great work on your cafe!
Never been so early before
Edit:
Wow that looks so stressful. Good on you guys for hanging in there!
i've been waiting for this
Life goal is to someday visit and order everything on the menu.
this is craaaazy. we still have yet to come out!!!
Not easy at all! Thanks for sharing your experience!
Can’t wait to go when I’m in Socal! My friends have gone and met Phil QQ
One day one Day imma come and vist and order everything on this flippin menu
Lines are out the door now. Congrats. I love the carrot matcha latte. It’s so different from any other drink in the SGV.
Damn a cliffhanger?! I demand a season 2
More please! 😀
Part 3!! Part 3!!
Oh my god I need to know! I wanted to take a trip to California after I graduated college in May just to visit the cafe!
the suspense is killing me!!!
Before opening have to have all town inspections done. Afterwards hang flags and do a party for friends, family, town officials and newspapers and offer sampling of foods and drinks. Next day is official opening with non negotiable hours to set customer base.
I can't imagine an ethnic vegetarian establishment being able to produce cash flow and was getting burnt out just making enough to pay rent.
So proud of you, Phil!!!
the moment i read 2 be continued i spilled my boba
Waited forever that I forgot about a second part
i didn't anticipate that cliffhanger!
I love this series oh my goodness
When will part 3 come out? Can’t wait to visit y’all in November!
lowkey getting chef's table vibes
Awesome job, hope it goes forward nmariev any vanilla chai boba tea 🍵 😊
This is LITTT
Another cliff hanger? I don't know if I can take anymore of these. jk, I'm too stubborn to give up on the next chapter of anything till it's complete.
Can I buy this series on UA-cam red? The cliffhanger is killing me
most wholesome comments section in the game

So sad I can't gooo
"Don't scare me! Stop!"

Man y'all need some art on those blank walls!

I can't believe the previous owner left everything. That's so crazy! And, what was in the ceiling in that last scene??
WHAT A CLIFFHANGER 90 DEGREES POW
did you leave that outside sign there or removed it?
PHIL THIS IS YOUR BUSINESS, COME HERE AND TAKE A LOOK!
Whyyyy did you put the cliff hanger there💀
I can't stand the cliffhanger so I cheated and went on their IG and saw the final product; looks like a happy ending after all lol
Are y sure that city official didn't come in for bobba?! He looks like a man who wanted to try some new boba flavours :(
But when is part 3 dropping ):
🙏🏽
Oh no so scary >
their soft open day is what I fear the most when I open my own tea house. I cannot afford losing so much money by putting up a business. I know business is risky. I struggle a lot to save up money to start a business with. Im poor and tired of being one.
