    Dear Dr
    How to include mean and median survival time with the output of a multivariate Cox proportional hazard analysis in SPSS (or SAS, if you have the syntax)?
    My model has 7 covariates. A hazard ratio for one covariate is therefore adjusted for other covariates in the model. The mean and median values given with Kaplan Meier (KM) curves are for unadjusted survival curves because KM allows only a one-covariate analysis (univariate).
    Thank you in advance.

    Great thanks.

    I do not understand why your "credit-default"variable-label is continuous? Should it not be categorical?

    which test should i use if I wanna test weather my catgorical variable which consists of 5 groups (created using two step cluster analysis) can predict the incidence of the disease?? so that I could see effect of each group (cox regression doesn't do it)

    It's only the first part of a multi-part series. The part 2 video starts several seconds before this one ends, so you should get the full sentence.

    Hi
    The video was very helpful. Would it be possible if you could forward me the reference that suggests the sample size to be 400 participants to run a hoser and lemeshow test?
    Thanks

    Thank you for these very helpful videos :-). Can/should the Wald test be used to test for significance when performing binary logistic regression with data which I am treating as a population? I have been advised that inferential statistical tests are not appropriate with populations, so I'm confused whether to pay attention to the Wald test - particularly as it does not appear to have a straightforward relationship with the size of the coefficients/log odds. Thank you in advance for any answers!

    • @how2stats
      @how2stats  4 роки тому +1

      If your data consist of the entire population of interest, you don't have to test anything for statistical significance. So, you can ignore the Wald statistic. Log odds can also be misleading as a measure of effect size, but are usually useful. I also show to calculate standardized beta-weights in logistic regression: ua-cam.com/video/z9ltC4tniYY/v-deo.html

    wow..people in your model make a lot of money! do you have any videos about putting categorical variables into a logistic regression model? Also, what is the max # of variables I can put into a model? Is it the whole sample divided by 10 or the number in the smallest group divided by 10? Thanks for the vid!

    Hello. I like your helpfull videos!
    What happens if there is no factor? E.i., I want to verify whether a binary choice differs from 50% (which would be random). Marine turtles had to chose between coastal or oceanic water.

    • @andynorbury3086
      @andynorbury3086 6 років тому

      in logistic regression, normality is not an assumption you have to test because it doesn't assume a normal distribution in the sample

    Hi, I am confused with your way of defining a level of measurement, you defined all 3 variables as scale ( not nominal ) . can you please explain why? because most of the people define binary variables as nominal in spss. thanks

    • @how2stats
      @how2stats  5 років тому

      Credit default is a binary dependent variable (Yes/No). In the context of logistic regression, it is the dependent variable that defines the type of logistic regression you conduct. So, in this case, it is a binary logistic regression, and that's true, even though one or more of the independent variables may be measured on a ratio/interval scale.

    When running a long and short logistic regression to test for interaction do you compare the -2log*(likelihoodshort/likelihoodlong) and compare the a Chisq DF= (DF long - DF short)?
    If so how do you calculate the P-value specifically rather than compare to the critical value of ChiSq to determine whether you reject the null (ie reject that the additional covariates which I crossed have a multiplicative interaction?)
