- I demonstrate how to perform a multiple regression in SPSS. This is the in-depth video series. I cover all of the main elements of a multiple regression analysis, including multiple R, R squared, model development (via stepwise method), intercept, unstandardized beta weights, standardized beta weights, semi-partial correlation, standard errors, as well as basic heteroscedasticity tests.
Thanks for posting all these explanatory videos. They are great!
I love you! You explained all the different analisys I needed in two hours. :D Thanks for saving my semester!
Thank you very very much,I have watch a lot of your videos and they are very useful,I don't need to read through the manual which is few hundred pages.Thank you sir.
you are a legend
Thank you for helping me through my course. I am following your examples and they have been a great help. Thanks for your posts!!!
Thank you - your videos are so clear and usefull
You are a godsend. Learned a lot it your courses.
Your videos are excellent.
Dude great video but next time could you choose an easier example please?:)
I knoooooow riiiiiiight 🤣🤣😅😅
Thank you for the in detail video about multiple regression! What method would be appropriate to use if there are multiple dependent variables (continious)? The objective of the study is to find a relationship.
what was the answer to this question i would also like to know :)
Thank u soo much sir 🙏🏼.its really helps me lot 👍
what to do in case I have 4 dependent variables and 3 independent variables?
Wow, very impressive!
Informative sir.
very helpful videos.
I am working on a study where I take reading of both eyes of people. it is known there is strong correlation between both eyes. so then cases now are not ind pendant. can use average of both eyes? how can cluster data by person?
Nicely done - thanks!
Is it necessary to calculate log value of each and every variable before running multiple regression analysis?
Hey, I wanted to know if I were to carry out a multiple regression analysis in SPSS where pyschographic as a construct consists of multiple variables and it's affect on buying behaviour of the people, how can SPSS measure the pyschographic factors?
What to do when 5 dependent variables and 1 independent variable?
Hi, if you had information for 4 different years in your dependent variable and you're only interested in one of the years, how would your determine that in SPSS? thanks
Hi there, i found your post very ellucidative. I wonder if you could present examples when you have complications along the way, e.g. your R=1, or when your Dependent variable (y) does not meet normality assumptions? Thank you
Thank you so much for this. And I cannot find your hierarchical multiple regression video, do you have it?
Hi, could you please talk more about how to choose the method to run a regression analysis (enter vs stepwise)? Thanks!
What statistical model do you use, if the dependent variable is not continuous and is a dichotomous variable. In this example the independent variables are continuous. Thank you.
binary logistic regression analysis is used when you have a dichotomous variable
In the first "block" certain predictor variables were found to be significant, but in the next block as I added in more variables, the previously significant variable(s) became insignificant due to the effect of the new variables. How do I interpret what this represents?
Thanks.
terrfiic thank you so much. Just have a question: when we control for variables on multivairable analysis for clinical data.. what exactly does the software do? eliminating those patients? in other words the more variables you control for the smaller the sample size really? thanks again
It means that those variables do not contribute to the regression equation in a unique and statistically significant way. Basically, the variables you are adding in the second block are probably correlated with your variables in the first block, so their unique contribution is diminished, in this case to non-significance.
Thanks dude!
I have multiple dependent and one independent. Then what test should I apply. My data is not in likert scale only.
Depends on your hypothesis. My immediate answer would be Canonical Correlation analysis. You can do it in SPSS via the menu options these days.
Awesome! Thank you so much for sharing, you are a star, God bless.
Very good
Great! Now, what do I do, if some variables follow linear model, while other variables follow a quadratic pattern, and another one fits an exponential model? How to obtain one single formula? Is this at all possible?
Hello, I have a doubt in my analysis. I have two independent variables and one dependent variable what I have done is Multiple regression between them and found that one of the independent variable is significant with the dependent variable, no I want to calculate how much percentage of independent variable is effecting dependent variable. Is there any way to calculate percentage from beta value obtained.
Could you enable CC? I'm hard of hearing.
Finding this useful in 2022
very useful!
hello, can i ask you a question?
is Multiple Regression and Double Linear the same?
Never heard of 'double linear' before.
Would you be able to tell me how to do the multiple regression on only half my data? Like I want to exclude all males and then all females. I have them coded as 1 and 2. Basically I want my analysis done on each gender separately???
Go to data -> split file. Split according to your gender variable and sort the file.
Have you considered hierarchical regression analysis?
You can do a recoding, giving the males a value = to missing values. Do you know how to recode?
strawberryseason selecting the cases you want is much easier and doesn't effect the dataset (it can be cancelled anytime)... to do it, do to Data>select cases
Split file on gender before doing the regression probably most efficient way. But have you considered that gender might be an important independent variable? In which case you would not want to run 2 separate lots of regression.
thank you so much.
What is premium discount?
Hello. First of all, thanks for those nice explanations :) I still have a doubt (i'm actually struggling with that one): I carried out a multiple linear regression and the residuals were not normally distributed, i transformed the dependent variable but the residuals are still not normally distributed. What do you recommend to do then?
Could you do these clips in a higher resolution? They tend to come out a bit fuzzy visually?
some of the older videos were not recorded in HD; however, you can adjust the quality somewhat by setting the quality of the stream to its highest level; click on the setting icon on the bottom right corner of the youtube video window; you'll see that you can increase the quality to 480p; why youtube doesn't automatically do that, I don't know.
Me 7 years later. Fixed the problem....... got a better iPad 7 years later.
very helpful. thx a lots xx
Thank you so
🙏❤️
hello. thank for the video. I have got a question regarding missing values in spss. I need to do linear regression (OLS) analysis with so many missing data. how can I analyze regression model with correctly filled missing data?
was helpful..
you should upload your excel data so we can walk through the analysis with you
i did not get the analysis
I've just uploaded a new video series on hierarchical regression within SPSS.
The data used for the example is very confusing for an already complex statistical calculation. Please use an easier example next time. This confused me more than help me. Sorry.
anyone else think he sounds like a young ben affleck?
slay
This was helpful, however I would suggest not being so close to the mic and maybe drinking water, the sounds made me mute the video within the first minute.
You are an Ahole
Thank you so much
