The reason the show will always resinate with it's core audience (Minorities in general but mainly us Blacks/African Americans) is because just like the day it first aired until now, We're hungry for positive and good news coming out of our communities. We hunger to excel past our circumstances. All most of us need or needed was that one positive vibe to feed off of that told you it was really OK to be more then who you are!
Jasmine Guy is truely a incredible woman. If we are lucky we shall age, our skin will wrinkle and our hair will grey. Lovely the vanity of youth that says you won't. Looking back on my youth I remember the show A different world, I grew up watching the show. Mostly I remember the impact that the show had on me as a teen mom. The show encouraged me despite my current situation just how important a getting a education was. Thank You Jasmine Guy for being one of my positive role models. True beauty flows from the inside out . So therefore Jasmine is more beautiful now more than ever the epitome of beauty,grace,and strength. I am so proud to be a Beautiful Black Queen.

I loved seeing them all on Oprah's Where Are They Now. Whitley & Dwayne will always be on my list of favorite TV couples.
I'm loving her excellent fluid communication skills with the crowd. Her willingness to be frank, vulnerable and passionate about the subject matters she discusses is telling. God has truly blessed Jasmine. I grew up with the show. Loved seeing people who looked like me on the screen as college students. Loved the topics covered. Enjoyed the ‘step’ routines, especially involving the brothers! I’d never seen such camaraderie, such brotherhood and sisterhood! The cast made me feel oh so proud! My college experiences were far different from what was portrayed. I miss them all.🙏♥️🤗

There are no coincidences. God puts us in others' paths to help them progress, and vice versa. God is teaching me to be humble enough to meet them wherever they are. Too bad black shows have digressed. This was one of the most positive black shows along with Cosby in the 80's and 90's. Too many other sub culture agendas are smothering positive black images ( hip hop and gay..etc..) It is sad

exactly the western world cant accept aging nor the reality of death and dying. everything is impermanent so its a fact of life. beauty is fleeting,
not everybody wants to have plastic surgery and look like a lion. she still is amazing.

Just finished watching all six seasons of ADW. Whitley and Dwyane are my favorite TV couples. ADW is such a positive portrayal of young adults.

I really hope that some day soon A Different World gets a proper DVD release. Currently only season one has a DVD release and its long out of print.
