That movie Lisa did in 87 with Robert DeNiro called Angel Heart in which she had nude scenes, didn't go down too good with Cosby.
I'm sure she knew that before she decided to make the movie. I wonder where her agents or family were. Did nobody tell her this might not be a good idea for her career? She did this to herself. Bill certainly has his problem, but she can't blame him for her career tanking because of decisions she made.

Even though she was a free spirit Cosby liked that about her but Lisa and her character on the Cosby show were part of the Cosby brand which went against her character on the active and popular show. It wasn’t only that she got pregnant she was in a movie that clearly went against her characters on the Cosby show and A Different World . She had her own show that Cosby focused on life as a college student, it’s only so much that one can cover up on a pregnancy. She clearly mess with the flow of things, the Cosby brand on something she signed a contract and was getting paid to do. 30 something years later I can’t be mad a Cosby for his decisions.
So the winifred "freddie" Brooke's character is kinda a variation of denise as both are freely spirited

I agree. In terms of Lisa it's more likely that she rejected Bill's advances and was labeled difficult. They went on a smear campaign to assassinate her character. Ehh, Denise/Lisa's character was already awkward on A Different World. Also, the first season was full of re-worked scripts from what they intended was the original iteration of the show. If she were to carry on, Denise Huxtable would've had to change along with the show.
Debbie Allen would have knew what to do with the character Denise. Fans always say Denise was boring and the least interesting character on the show, but Debbie Allen came on board and made the show better. She could have done the same with Denise.

Blame the writers and the original showrunner. Lisa wasn't the reason why the first season was the way that it was. Season one didn't have any black writers, much less writers that knew about HBCU culture and the showrunner was white. Bill Cosby should have known better.
Well ,first of all this platform "Spill Today" is trying to rewrite history. I was there when the Cosby show first came out and before that he had another Cosby after "I Spy" then he had Bill Cosby(Fat Ablert) then "The Bill Cosby Show".
First thing I want to touch on is that Lisa Bonet daughter can't speak on anything accept what her mother told her. She wasn't even born yet until her mom got on the show and she was a baby anyway.The most important is this, Bill Cosby try to help this girl twice. He gave her opportunity to help herself and he couldn't do anything else to help her. So this is the reason why she don't speak on it and he won't talk about it uless she what's to bring up the past.

I love my girl Jasemine and I like her feeling outrage for the reasons she stated. Whitney was my favorite charactor, there was some biases there because we went to the same high school. I would not have looked at the movie Angel Heart but for Lisa Bonet and I knew this probably was a career kill and then came the pregnancy. I stand with him, Bill Crosby, not willing to write for that and of not adding a pregnant "don't have a pot to pissed on" stereotypical role we have seen it enough. She would have been doing well because of her parents are rich. I made my daughter quit when she became pregnant while in college because I could not 100 % support the new addition and her, now, she would have to work full time. There are consequences on one's decision sometimes. Bill was trying to build an empire and with it bring respect to the way some blacks were Iiving. Disney also had demand for his stars because if you supposed to be trying to uphold an wholesome lifestyle the actors need to be on board and understand the importance of it for their character and careers. It sad but true there a lot of female celebrities that had to make the decision career vs. starting a family. I don't like that you raking over the coal, Bill Crosby current situation into this matter because you going off subject because none of the cast was involved with that. Denise character made an exit and I did not miss her because her acting for me was like she was not to into it, no energy (lacadacius) and there were so many strong characters on the show. Lisa has done very well for herself behind the camera and focusing on raising her kids and living the life of her choosing. Bill was the boss, and this was his world on set, but it depended on other and sponsors for it support.

She was written back in The Cosby Show as newly married and with a stepchild. Why not just have Denise married and pregnant? It still would have fit the wholesome image of the show. In real life, Lisa and Lenny Kravitz was married. The eloped. That storyline was stupid. Bill should have just allow Lisa to stay on A Different World and have Debbie Allen write her pregnancy into the show like she wanted. Dwayne would be the father of Denise's child. It was Angel Heart that ruined Lisa Bonet. Had she listened to Bill Cosby and not taken that role she'd have had a long career as a Black girl next door.
Lisa Bonet thought she could get mainstream exposure and become a star by participating in that provocative role in Angel Heart as Ephiphany Proudfoot. She had no idea White Hollywood execs were steering her on the road to becoming their next Black Jezebel. After doing the graphic sex scene in Angel Heart, and the movie bombed at the box office Hollywood execs turned her out and she went on to become a direct-to video Joke.

I think it had to do with the conflict of black brand Bill wanted to establish. She did a movie, Angle heart, among other things. But it didn't seem as though he cut her out of the business. That image of black in a positive light helped a whole culture of people, feel and do better in the wake of a world that portrays them as pimps, whores and the lesser of life. Anything and anyone who works against the greater good is difficult., however I do see how he gave up on her, if anything it was more like a parent showing there child how the world can be harsh without being as harsh.

Ummm.....you're right, we are all given free will. BUT it was a dark movie with a sex scene that many werent comfortable with for Lisa. The original scene was controversial, they actually had to cut it, and she was so young at that time. She was 19.

The bottom line is Lisa is not a good actress. The woman who Clair’s mother said she was ungrateful. She was also unprofessional. That’s why she hasn’t had much success as an actress after The Cosby show. Hiring security for a producer was overkill. Lisa was yelled at because her F Ups affected others and time is considered money. She was only on the show for teenage boys to crush on. She was given a new start with ADW and screwed that up by showing up late way too many times and not knowing her lines which caused rehearsals to take a really really long time. Other times she just wouldn’t show up at all.. Lisa kept quiet about Cosby for all those years and then she steps out of the shadows when Cosby is at a low point by kicking him when he’s down. She showed her true colors. The guy who played Lisa’s husband on The Cosby Show is still salty because he was fired after Lisa left the show. If Lisa’s not there why would they keep him?

The actress who played Phylicia Rashad's mother said Lisa was ungrateful for the opportunity that she had and acted like the show was no big deal for her. A black male writer for ADW (Can't remember his name) said Lisa smoked so much weed (which she chained smoked on both Cosby and ADW) that you could smell her before you saw her. Anne Beatts was the first producer for ADW and she said Lisa would show up late all the time and not know her lines and because of this rehearsals would go on and on and on. Lisa kept F'ing up and Cosby kept giving her chance after chance and even her own show and she messed that up and he took her back on Cosby. There was a morality clause for the Cosby show and she decided she wanted to change her good girl image and went and did a horrible movie that bombed called Angel Heart where she actually got shot in her 🐈. She actually thought this would help her career! She didn't know it but Cosby was trying to save her from what she was becoming. He knew she was only offered that degrading role to make her and him look bad.

Lisa Bonet wasn't a good fit for the Cosby Show or A Different World in the first place; her energy didn't match the show and as a viewer growing up watching the show I felt it coming through her performances. Lisa is a renegade like actress, Rae Dawn Chong. Both are exploratory actresses. Interestingly, Lisa's daughter, Zoe is the exact same as her mother. Everyone on that show can't enjoy past revenue's from the show because of the creators, Bill Cosby. This is why Jeffrey the actor who played Elton the son in law to Sandra Huckstabl was outed while working as a cashier at Trader Joe's. He was simply working to add money to his families finances whiie activily seeking work as an actor. She was miscast in that movie Angel Heart. If I recall correctly, the character was a black woman in the deep rural south and she did not adjust her way of speaking at all. She sounded ridiculous. They may as well have cast a whyte actress.
