These comparisons were so helpful. I have the Vogue 7975 which I have not yet made. I was glad to hear that this is your favorite for so many reasons. I am encouraged!
Glad it was helpful! Making a jacket is more complicated than a dress but I found the instructions in the V7975 quite easy to follow. It breaks it down into manageable steps. And the end jacket is lovely. 🥰🧥🌸
I think I would prefer the McCall's with the super slim waist. I love a good waist. I love how your black jacket came out, very chic! I'd already bookmarked the Vogue7975 to make an embroidered jacket for my mom. I love that you're so excited about that pattern. I'll definitely be using it as well.
It's just a really well-drafted pattern. The instructions are clear and the jacket pieces are easy to alter for all body types so you can get a really good fit. 🥰🧥
Yes, the Valentino tweed is gorgeous. I'm loving the fringe on the bottom of the one jacket. I love a fringe. I tend to hide my bottom if I can so that would work out quite nice for me :D
Thank you for sharing your opinion, I found it very helpful. All of your creations are beautiful. Please continue to share your opinion on different patterns with us.
So glad I saw this video. I really like the look of the McCalls jacket and skirt and was thinking of getting the pattern. It was disappointing to see how different the jacket turned out when you made it. Thank you for saving me from buying this pattern.
I know what you mean. I was so disappointed too by that Simplicity jacket pattern. Burda has a few Chanel-style jackets that look quite promising. Their samples always look like the actual pattern. And the Vogue V7975 is a good one.
@@PerfectJacket I tried a more available pattern (different brand) first and spent weeks trying to get it to fit. Finally, the Vogue arrived and I tried the V7975. It went together beautifully. I always have problems with the upper sleeve, and this pattern makes a gorgeous shoulder/sleeve connection. So glad I tried.
Thanks! No, I usually make the jacket first, then do the beading as it makes the jacket stronger but with my current project I'm using mostly sequins which are super light, so I'm attaching them first.
Have you ever tried Vogue 8804? Would you recommend it as a great option for beginners as he has more step-by-step instructions? I an considering purchasing it, but have not yet even tried the Vogue 7975.Thanks.
The V8804 is a much more complicated pattern. (Buttonholes into tweed often ends in expensive disaster.) All jackets are complex but the V7975 is by far the easiest to get right, in my opinion.
I have a question about size!!! I wear a size 6 and bought the Vogue 7975 - only to read on it that size 6 is Bust 30 1/2, waist 23, Hops 32 1/2 Is that accurate? Clothing and pattern sizes today - in the 2000's are NOT that - A women's size 6 (S) has a bust of 34-35 in, a waist of 27-28 in, and hips of 36-38 in. Do I need to buy the pattern ins 12-14-16? That sounds CRAZY.
Does size matter? Fit matters. You can buy vintage sewing patterns on Etsy and eBay. Also, I hear that many independent pattern companies have flattering sizes.
Zauberhaft - eine schöner als die andere!!
Thank you so much! ✨🧥🧵🎨🥰
Vogue 8804
I used this recently to make a Chanel style jacket in a purple tweed from Linton Tweeds, a challenging project, but turned out really well.
That's awesome! I'm going to try some new patterns next year.

Thanks for mention avoiding darts with tweed. I was considering a pattern with a dart!
Glad it was helpful. Good luck with your jacket! 🥰🧥
Ooooh the green vintage style, quilt fabric with the beading, very good!
Thank you! Cheers!

It's a lovely object, it's just no so wearable. 🧥🌸

I love your intro! Its perfect, perfect, perfect! Perfect jacket! ❤❤❤❤
Thanks! 🧥 Glad you like it! 🥰🎨🧵
I love your jackets! I created one tweed suit for first time. The material was so thick it was difficult to hem. I have to keep at it this fall!
Oh wow! Congratulations! Yep, you definitely need more tweed suits and jackets. 🥰🎨🧥🌸
great video as usual! this is so needed! thanks again!!
Aww, thank you. 🥰 Glad it was helpful! 🧥🌸🌷🌼
Thank you for the comparisons. The jackets look to be about a size four? Are there any pictures of you wearing your confections? Would love to see.
Thanks so much! They are mostly size 6 but some patterns only come in an 8 or a 10. The tweed ones are 6.
@@PerfectJacket I see. Any pictures of you wearing your jackets?
Perfect jacket indeed! Beautiful collection :). Sorry if this is a stupid question: With all the (wonderful) beading, how do you clean the jackets?
They're dry clean only.
Do you have a Chanel inspired jacket for a plus-sized woman? Or should I give up on this dream?
The last jacket pattern was a plus sized one. B6822
Forgot to say that Linton Tweeds have videos using this pattern on their website.
Cool. Thank you.
yes, this was very helpful. But I have a question - where do you get your fabric? I'm having great difficulty finding boucle! Please help!
Linton Tweeds, UK and Mood Fabrics NYC both have online stores and deliver all over.
so do you usually do the beading before you assemble the jacket? I love the 7975 with the bugles and green beads
Thanks! No, I usually make the jacket first, then do the beading as it makes the jacket stronger but with my current project I'm using mostly sequins which are super light, so I'm attaching them first.
