- The Model Cycles is nice. I've heard it's not in stock. So what's the next best thing to having your own? Well.. looking at someone else fiddling with it, and asking quiestions!

I really do hope that you come back to the cycles with a tutorial. You explain things so cleanly, and make it easy to understand.
32:12 cuckoo almost plays the wii sports theme
**cry laughs in wii music instructor voice**
I haven't used my Model Cycles in a while, but love to come back to this video to remind myself all the cool stuff this instrument can do! Every time I put it back out on my desk, I am reminded just how great this instrument sounds. Thank you.
I’ve had this beat stuck in my head for the last couple of days. I love it.
Are you gunna make a mega tutorial for the Cycles?
Stefan Ridding foreal i'd love one! I've been watching the channel undulations he's releasing some amazing tutorials for model cycles
Hi cockoo, what means quantize ?
My Model:Cycles should arrive in a couple of days... can’t wait. Keep up the good work!
We have missed you deeply.
Hi Cuckoo thank you for your demonstration. Bought my Cycles I never regret, this is a magic miracle wishing well sugar honey box. So cool thank you elektron.
Yesss. Finally caved and bought a used Cycles online yesterday after rewatching your vids. Cheers
thank you so much for your tutorials, i'm ordering one next week :)
Damn, would habe loved to catch it live! Cuckoo +Cycles = ❤💙💚. (:
Whatever is going on in track 6 during the intro/first jam is just magic. Sounds simple to replicate but I reckon I'm going to be here for days!
Thanks Cuckoo! Would love to see a long mega tutorial for the Cycles. Maybe a Digitakt and Cycles pairing jam vid too :)
Awesome idea
Good stream Cukoo, I have had my model cycles for a week now & i'm blown away by the sound manipulation & the overall hands on experience - makes a refreshing change from using a DAW . I was going to get a Deluge which i love but it was out of my price range, then the Roland mc707 & 101 came along & I was tempted - But i'm glad I waited for the model cycles to land, all good things come to those who wait & this is possibly the best bang for you're money. Great fun, inspiring & a joy to play.
Hi :) Can you control other synths and daws with its sequencer via MIDI (I mean sending MIDI notes not only MIDI clock) like with Electribe 2 and Novation Circuit? Thanks
I honestly wouldn't mind seeing a full tutorial on your streaming set up!! 😁
The loop you have here that came from the original jam , how have you made those chords..... so amazing. Needs to be a track!
bloody awesome!......
Instead of your "whoosh bvvvffft pvvvt psssh zzzpppt psshhheww" intros I'd love to see you fall down a flight of stairs holding the gear you are about to review/demo. Like, every time. Full grip upon landing. Make it safe with pillows and loved ones. Regardless, keep up the inspirational work - you catch on to everything so goddamned fast. It's almost criminal when you add the swagger lol but in the end always patient and thoughtful. Dare I say you are the Bob Ross of gizmos? Your intelligent, smooth, soft, patient cadence (and yes gorgeous accent and prefect teeth) have us wanting to fall down the stairs with you whilst grappling the future gear you rip into to record something meaningful for all history upon landing at the bottom with or without batteries or power cables, etc.. "Yeah." Much Love.
No support for overbridge Ill guess? Thanks for all your work!
Mega tutorial for the cycles plz? Love your work man!
muy bueno saludos desde TIJUANA BC
Loved this
It was Amazing THKS !!!!!
Took me a while to figure this gadget out but after 2 years it's my favorite weirdo box
Thanks Cuckoo!
Could you please tell how acoustic piano sound pairs with fm synthesis sounds?
Ur so artistic cukoo. U have a very cool art style when u do videos
Hello Cuckoo! I watched a few of your videos and have to say your chill vibe and nothing has the potential of sparking off into any sort of disaster kind of attitude is like medicine! I effortlessly key into the attitude no matter the situation on my end, once even frustrating a high strung roommate who's schadenfreude demands a certain misery in his environment, yet here I was all speaking slowly with accented vowels (like the Sounblaster XG6 "Emo" setting on the voice morph) and promoting the word 'dude' to high rotation in my vernacular, and simply refusing to wipe the grin off my face, wirelessly charged by resonance from your totally correct way to exist -- so much more contagious than the shoe pissing I was suffering from unfortunate glass-nearly-empty outlook I actually undermined so nicely with that you-won't-believe-who-I-just-shagged type of perma-grin, (Ren & Stimpy irl!). A truly tense moment, for a second I thought he might be enough of a dick to take a swing but amazingly we both laughed like stoned teenagers instead, which truly blew my mind, I mean, I don't have a single memory of that dude laughing or even smiling, but here we were freakin' hysterical, all from the world-class TRUE Cuckoo Reference Vibe®, padded by perfect sincerity (another signature amazingness!! Should we all consider the Bob Ross Beard perhaps?) I feel the need to underline this comment, sorry if it is bordering on absurdity, it's from the heart, the right attitude is like a tuning fork to get the mind right, or the several pranayama breaths that plugs you into the moment. I was ready to make some music, felt unstoppable. What a luxury community service you offer, consider my example, multiply at least a part of it by your audience.... You are changing the world measurably! To be fair, I was uplifted after buying the Poly Beebo/Digit AND the Hologram Microcosm (to join the Eventide H9 as the absolute dream come true FX reinvention my exploration would soon be lost in, but the heavy uplifting was correctly credited earlier, and the huge neon graffiti reminder in my mind to revisit the process routinely. I subscribed. So my huge gratitude for your profound influence!! I would like to offer an expert repair of your headphones, they will be far better than when you first unboxed and held those b-cups one in each hand, exploring the weight, nodding and grinning while premeditating the customization ergonomics, dismissing the passing desire for a pair of D's (you don't need that, and would argue with them when travelling). I can send you the two machined components you simply bolt together with the included Allan wrench and absurd overkill bolts. I just need some photos with a ruler next to the problem parts, I will send your replacements in a week. Mark.
Those metal sounds hurt but the percussion sounds make perfect african instrument tones.
Thanks for your vibes Maestro
Hi Cuckoo, please how can i load a kit complete in one step in the 6 tracks? thanks!! love your channel!!!
Hello cuckoo. Maybe you could give an example for using locks and/or the fill function?
as a child of the seventies I love the artificial nature of synthesizer sounds this being fm is a dram come true with a sampler we’ll like the late eighties and nineties it made people lazy just loading other people’s creations
Hallo Cuckoo i have a question about the cycles : When i use it as a hardware sequencer to control 6 hardware synthesizers with diverend midi chanels and i want to trancepose all tracks at once with a external midi keyboard with midi chanel one, is this posible? With the Maq 16/3 it is not posible. here i have to send info for three midi channels,
but with for example the ZAQ sequencer it works fine.
Where did you get that little snes controller? Its so cute!
This unit sounds absolutley mint , thanks Cuckoo , and at the price it seems an absolute bargain.Cheers.
Hello, what do you prefer between the two [elektron model:cycles + roland mc 101]?
I prefer the sound of the first, but the second has more potential!?
Could I plug my Rev2 in track 6 for example, by using midi? Have you tried something like this? How does it work? I havent found any documentation on this really.
Yes. You can sync it to any midi tempos, and you can also assign a midi track out from this per track and play notes, etc.
Cuckoo the best!! : )
Hello cuckoo do you think I could sync this up with my volcas and key step , I really want the cycles.keep up the good work with your in depth tutorials mate 👍
mpo echo, everything I’m reading says yes. Not only can you use an external keyboard to midi control a track or trigger each track with the lowest 6 keys on the scale, Cycles can also control other devices. MIDI in, out, and through.
Can’t wait for mine! Been pouring over the online manual in anticipation.
Hello, I'm looking for a video that shows how I can include a .wav library in the model cycles. First of all, is it possible to include samples and if so, how and in what format? If it does not include .wav and if syex, how do I transform .wav to syex. Greetings and thank you!!
You are left brain/right brain.... an artist and a musician. ;)
You area humble gentleman sir
Hi Cuckoo! Your videos are the greatest, thanks! Please help me: In Transfer there is no "EXPLORE", so i cannot transfer my aifs (mac OS 10.12, USB, Midi In from rme)! Whats wrong??? Hanne from germany
Yeah they put out model sample for 808 and 909 drum samples
Beautiful as always. Um can u pan on these sounds?
I’m learning how to make techno rumble bass drums on this thing but I can only save sounds in the pattern. Any ways of saving patches and naming the sounds to use In other patterns. I can’t seem to find any explainable content. Saving sounds in the pattern is all I’ve ever done as it’s always been easier aha especially with the dn dt and a4. This seems like it’ll be a more simple Approach to listing my own patches. 👍😎
Make it custom!
you should draw a paradise island and a pineapple on the model cycles , ps getting mine next week happy days
LXR Sonic Potions or Model:Cycles?
playing with my Machinedrum ... gladly I can do all of these so I don't need to make more space in the studio
Completely unrelated but how do you like your Black Magic device for live steaming?
Very related, I’d say. It worked well. Was streaming in HD for 2 hours without a hiccup. Solid stuff!
True Cuckoo learning curve was okay? I’m thinking of getting one too! Read that it comes with its own software audio mixer but I’d like to use my own daw/interface. 😋
On the 909 subject
Can you make bass drums similar to a 909?? Deep.punchy kicks??
Lv your channel
Because I’m a slow learner I have to color code knobs to match the functions so that might be a fast learning curve? Color coded m n m’s
Does that mean the new battery may possibly have Bluetooth option?
How do you like the model samples in comparison to this?
I have both. I like the Samples better as you can add ANY sound to it, even FM types, and you can pitch them up and down. So you can essentially stretch them into weird slower textures or faster percussive instruments, add vocal clips, etc. They do make a good pair though, the workflow is almost exactly the same. The Cycles is fun, but the presets are fairly limited (under 10ish) for most of the sample selections for all the instruments except the synth, for which it has around 200. However, since you can edit each of the engine sounds separate from the presets, there is an "unlimited" number of sounds. I do feel like an eventual update would help the Cycles stretch those sounds, like how the Microfreak update added a new oscillator and other things. They are both easily worth $300 or less, I did buy both used at a decent price, but I'd pay full price for either. Both can work as a drum machine. Again, they are both really versatile and a real joy to use, but the Samples does edge out the Cycles for me because of the unlimited types of sounds you can load.
Eli B thats kinda how I felt. I’m looking more into creating rhythm tracks. I can always pick up a Roland Boutique synth if I’m looking at creating synth tracks. The Microfreak is definitely on my radar as well.
@@Eli_B3000 The Model:Samples is indeed more versatile due to the sample-based nature, but I've found that the Cycles is a lot quicker if you want to just get started without menu diving. On the Samples, you have to go and find the samples you want to use, while on the Cycles, you just hit the machine button to select from the different engines. That makes a huge difference when starting from scratch (shameless plug: something I've done a couple of times in streams on my channel). That said, I've also played a gig with the Samples, with nothing prepared except for a kit of 6 samples :D
@@0Fdigital I was having regrets not buying the samples one, but starting to think its probably for the best because I would end up spending all my time picking samples instead of learning how to program the sequencer and perform with it. I need to get more proficient at understanding rhythm and things like that so I'm going to keep at it and maybe I'll get the Samples or something more advanced down the line.
hi, I try to load a new sound into a bank with a kick but I get the message "sound pool full" and it doesn't load... HELP
google ordered your album?
I just love your tutorials
And that has helped me a lot
I have a question
I want to connect model cycles to rc 505 mk2
I want to use mk2 loop station as master and elektron model cycle as slave
I have made midi out from rc to midi in in elektron
Still not able to hear anything from speaker
What midi settings should I do in rc 504 mk2 and elektron model cycle
Which one do you prefer: Model Cycles or Novation Circuit? I love your videos.
I think the Elektron sequencer, and the fun synth engines on the Cycles is making it more fun to use, in my opinion. But the Circuit actually has a very powerful synth. I’ve made some packs for it, and it sounds great. Definitely no slouch!
@@truecuckoo, thank you!!!
How can we undo live tweaks after they have entered the pattern without erasing entire pattern
This is 7months old so, you may have figured out already--but basically, you can revert back to one of two save states
Function+pattern reloads to the temp save, which you can set anytime by doing FUNC+wrench button
Function+save but held down prompts you to reset back to the pattern as is stored in the project memory. You might wanna make sure you have that saved properly first, by opening the project menu (wrench button), navigating to pattern, and then save
The ASMR review.
How’s it compared to volca FM? Looks like cycles is more immediate and volca FM has more depth? Seems to me so far can go further with volca which seems crazy good for the money. Have been trying to gauge your excitement levels to compare 😂😅
Lol. Yeah the Volca FM has the same open end DX7 Lay-out. It has stood against time well. It’s a good sound engine. Although it doesn’t sound vintage like the DX7. The Cycles is designed for grooving and has a 1000 more depth in the sequencer, even if the Volca has some quirky spice in the sequencer.
True Cuckoo Thanks so much! I love your videos-creative and musical, not just tech specs. Such artistic genius and so inspiring.
How would you say it compares to the Digitone for drums, some says it lacks depth, so what's your take ?
I use a kick preset called CRUNCHY KICK SM and haven't heard something similar from M:C, it's a bit overkill to use DN only for drums but I can't see myself compromising quality just to save 300 bucks, kick drum especially is too important for Techno.
The Digitone definitely has more depth. And for experimental rhythmical creations I think the Digitone is the better option. You can go deeper and crazier with it. But there's something very soothing about the Model:Cycles. And the Kick Drum is really really well tuned here. Not sure if I can make a Kick Drum on the Digitone that sounds like the one on the Model Cycles. The Digitone is polyphonic, but the Chord machine on the Cycles is really wonderful. I think they're different. But for going particularly wild, the Digitone has a lot to offer.
I made some Cumbia riffs and dub reggae-ton and mucho fun amigo
How long to learn Digitak if one knows the model:cycles?
My cycles is florescent in black lights so it's permanent
I don't even use the hi hats on cycles because we can replace that trak with percussions or sound efx
Would love a mega tutorial for this machine - although this also helps a lot!
mega tutorial PLEASE
Try the new op1 bro
I myself must live feed the internet it is hungry for content.
Tell my sister to keep it down over there!
Just kidding but that's my final divey rythmn box.
However it's much more and don't think a 60 year old has time for more Elektron
I dig how dynamic it is but live I would slightly compress.
I use it for African pulse beats
Big bang for the bux. You sold me on op-z but still workin on it
please make a starwars day jam with fitting instruments like brass and so on the op1😄
