The utmost respect to Andy and his ship mates. Captain Mike Barrow is the only person in history to have his ship hit by an Exocet and survive. Forward thinking and planning saved his ship.

You said 'sorry'.
Sir, you have no need to say sorry at all. I, and anyone who watched what was happening during that War. Can do nothing but hold you, and all of those onboard that day, in the highest esteem. To continue doing what you were trained to do, in the bleakest possible conditions, takes true Valor. To offer respect to those who died, and to the families, who still live with that loss, can never be enough. Thank you.
I was also on HMS Glamorgan in 1982. It was a shocking and very sad day for all of us. God bless those that did not return home with us.
much respect to you bud i could not imagine being in there.
Another very brave man, thank you.
Thank you for your service and courage. Don't apologize for your emotions.
I am currently serving, 15yrs done so far... I salute you mate :)
It's people like Andy and you that make the Royal Navy the respected Service it is.
Sapper Veteran.
Bravo, Sir! Much respect.
God bless All who serve and have served..and still live with the reacuring nightmares..My husband is ex Royal Navy and we support PTSD RESOLUTION...
Respect to all of our ex and serving personal and may all of our fallen 🙏 🕊
Job well done!! Love how you remembered "Tiny" from the Royal Marines - that means he was probably about 6' 4" and 18 stone (for those born after 1982 thats 193cm and 144Kg ;-)). All giant Royals are called Tiny!!
Yes he was that small and a great rugby player as well
Just as well the ship turned and leaned over so much. If the missile hit at normal height it could have set off the Sea Slug magazine. Which i think ran a third of the length of the ship back from the launcher.
Can't believe its 40 years ago since the Falklands war.
R.I.P to all those still on patrol.
Respect Brother - proud to have served
Respect to Andy and all of those who fought for our country. I hope everyone takes time to support our veterans.
A real life hero.
God bless to all😢
Right to be proud, Andy. Real heroism in the fear and alarm. I'm proud of you and I'm sure everyone else is too.
Also, I must thank Forces News for this video and others. You've done a great job. Without remembering and sharing, the thing may not have happened.
Bravo Sir and thanks
respect to all the Royal Navy sailors. they took grave risks for their Royal Marine brothers, and no doubt saved the lives of many Marines by staying on station until the 11th hour.
I was in the RN Airarm at the time and had been drafted shoreside from one of the other ships that was sunk a couple of months before the invasion. I have never felt so left behind in my life when the Task Force sailed with my shipmates. I knew people who did not come back, and that still affects me, so no need to say sorry for the memories affecting you. The sun shone on the rightious that evening.
Heros, all of them. They should be immensely proud.
Top bloke. Served with him and am still mates with him today. BZ Feller.
Well done sir you fore filled your duty with honour and distinction
Thank you, Sir, you are a great person!
I do think people seem to only think of the land battles not the sea and air battles. All brave souls.
My brother was CPO on Glamorgan. Steven Horne. Miss you brother. Sleep easy.
Respect
Remember the day well Andy and as you said how surreal the sea conditions were when we buried our dead, not a day i will forget in a hurry and it also helps me remember my wife's birthday as that is the same day so a happy and sad day the 12 June
Digan la verdad sobre el ataque al Invencible! ¿Por qué no hablan sus tripulantes? ¿No se los permite la ley de secretos?
Always remembered by Antrim '82 BZ
Malvinas Argentinas ayer hoy siempre
That would honestly be terrifying out at sea and your ship is sinking or on fire I couldn't be in the navy i like my feet on the ground
BZ mate!
RIP all those committed to the deep.
Heroes
Las Malvinas son Argentinas!!!
Don’t look like it to me!
Dreadful situation vividly described by Andy. You and your mates did your utmost best to save lives, Andy. Be reassured by that.
Massive respect from a Sapper Veteran.
Hello Andy, time hasn¨t made you any more handsome!!! 😂 Like the shirt bud, where did you get it from? If you read this,I go on the ship´s website, you can PM me there and let me know. The burial was one of the most moving things I have ever been involved with, witnessed. RIP our shipmates still on patrol.
