"They were trying to swim with arms and legs missing." Falkands veteran reveals what he saw

Derek Degg had served in the Royal Navy for more than 20 years when he was sent to the Falkland Islands aboard HMS Yarmouth in 1982.
Heading up a First Aid team, he was among the first to offer help to both HMS Sheffield and HMS Ardent when they were hit by Argentinian bombs during the conflict.

My good friend Cliff Evans was Petty Officer on HMS SHEFFIELD when it was hit, I was at his mums when the call came through to say he was MIA.......we sat up all night stunned.....the following day another call came from Cliff saying he was fine and safe.
