@@kejax6539 Indeed. It HAS to translate to something though. Based on the camera's movement we can see a lot of lines that look purposeful. Latin seems to fit Scala Ad Caelum thematically, but I could also see it being Japanese to suit Square's native audience. I'm leaning towards Latin because Scala Ad Caelum is Latin, and the Numerals on the Clock face are all Latin as well. Not to mention how the apprentices', and Ventus' names are Latin (Ephemer appears to be a Greek name).
I'm pretty sure most of the writing is just stylized kanji/kana. Obviously not all of it, but some of those are definitely the same shapes. For example, the last four characters on the sign at 3:40 could be "や六キ心" which is something about six hearts but I have no idea what the "キ" is doing there.

Kingdom Hearts 3 seemed so rushed to me. There was definitely supposed to be so much more done during this level. Also it was supposed to be Riku vs. Aqua...
There's not a doubt in my mind it was rushed to an extent. It had to be because of the engine change midway through development. I feel like at least the main island of Scala was explorable in a previous build of the game. I also feel like Twilight Town was probably more explorable at first too. In trailers Yen Sids tower was a world and in the end it was there just for cutscenes so I'd say this all stretches back from switching to Unreal Engine 4 two years into development
that seems to be the fate for every KH game since KH1, hell KH1's international release is pretty much an update to the original japanese one almost as much as the final mix was. Its really a beautiful world. I'm really interested in the scala language though. Hopefully these can be translated. I feel like those words might give off some great lore.
I have a feeling that somewhere there is a data version of Scala. I’m sure the MoM never explicitly states where and when events would take place in the Book of Prophcies. Ephemer had the Book of Prophecies and probably took precautions for the many vague events that would take place in the future.
It kinda reminds me of the giant cut level from Super Mario Galaxy 1, the Odyssey from Super Mario Odyssey, and some real life island communities all fused together
Looking at this makes me wish we got more of this in KH3, was let down in the base game with the fact it was just the boss world. The additional areas we got in remind were nice but still to me felt empty for the dlc price we paid alongside the base game
This place reminded me of 2 things. Daybreak Town obviously and the white tower from Nier: Automata. Ephemera must have been playing a game of Minecraft for an incredibly long time to build this.
The amount of detail is amazing. Compare this to something like KH2 Twilight Town...and you only spend a tiny portion of the game here. Obviously they’re going to bring Scala back in a major way. So cool.
The fact Scala is deserted with no sign of life anywhere is kinda creepy. And its not "No one was ever here" creepy, its "What happened to everyone" creepy.
I wonder where the story will go now that it's shifted to 'the world ends with you' universe. Like will we see Scala ad caelum or daybreak town in future games
So how does one keyblade wielder change someplace from something ruined/destroyed into something brand new and improved? Do they use a keyblade to redesign a place into how they would picture it or what they deeply desire it to be? Ephemer must of did the same thing with the Master's Defender like Aqua did in Birth by Sleep.
Also, this is totally the type of world that I’d just stop playing the game and start role playing and pretending I lived in the city 😂 I did that shit all the time with Super Mario Sunshine and other games with cute towns.
Something makes me think that the paupufruit is going to be very important or it's originations came from daybreak town or something. Or Kairi is related to ephemer in some way. Like its going to be a crazy ARE YOU JOKING moment. And if this isnt more explorable for the character in the next game I will be very shocked. The amount of DETAIL that went into this and we couldn't see a majority of it really shocks me. I hope we come back to scala again
So, maybe Scala ad Caelum is the starting point for all words... right??? Twilight Town, Land of Departure, Traverse Town, Radiant Garden, even Destiny island, Keyblade graveyard... there is clues from all this places gathered here...
If only the floating city islands were fully textured and modelled. Can someone tell the KH modders to make the rest of the buildings and city islands more detailed and possibly add collision detectors as well for Sora to actually run and walk on them please?
Ummm at 4:29 the poster on the top right, 4th row, 3rd symbol......it's the Unversed symbol.......also on the middle poster. 9th row, 11th symbol.........What could it mean?......The fact that an old civilization had that symbol as one of their words that were then used on creatures like the Unversed........Could the people of Scala Ad Caelum have created the Unversed? Or did they show up around the same time there were people living in Scala Ad Caelum? 🤔🤔🤔🤔 Mysterious!
Im not saying SE didnt focus on it, but imagine if SE actually put more time into kh 3. Like they spend a great amount of time detailing areas that would never be traveled to. And even if there were cut ideas from development, theres a certain level of realism that just wasn’t necessary other than just love of the idea. But if they were able to integrate more open world/exploration into the games or maybe more open quests rather than just basic story progression ones. The richness of worlds would be so great. Like pirates. Kh 2 was cool, but seeing how much more of the world they made and how detailed and alive it became in 3. That type of expansion and immersion is what i want for scala and any other grand scale world. Also npcs, need more variety npc. To have such big worlds but no one in them is eerie. For scala tho its fine since its more of a data/memory world than not.
just came to mind but noctis lucis caelum- scala ad caelum what if Yozora is from here originally and he's just searching for the nameless star in quadratum
man my out of bound scala adventure seems like so long ago from this. im still kinda bothered that we couldn't get to the top like in the xehanort fight. that out of bounds one was so crazy to explore but i did want to see the world of scala at the top in the day. kinda jealous of the point at 11:55 to 13:05. i wanna get up there in data greeting so bad and take a sweet pic in a full untouched battle scarred Scala. keep up the wrk cynical
ok everyone i need you guy's help !!!!!!!! at 4:20 we see a flower stand if we can identify what flowers are being sold we can use it as a base to translate the little chalk sign!
Is this world confirmed to be related to the Final World? If you add this architecture to the final world, what would be the difference? And the other Scala, the night version from Missing Link. The pitch black sky, with the contorted stars? If you subtract the architecture, it resembles the place Sora met Yozora (night time Final World)
This may be a very weird thought process, but I wonder if each "island" had different cultures when the place was populated and bustling. Like maybe the further out you got the more people had to struggle for resources? I know that's been done before in story after story (hunger games, attack on titan, and black clover as the first 3 examples I thought of) but it really does make sense that it would work that way because any utopia can never work in a world where "evil" (or for KH "darkness") exists, and SOMETHING happened that is the reason no one is there anymore. I dunno, I get that it's not really important to the story of KH, but this is the depth my brain thinks at when curious. I suppose MatPat would be proud. Lol
There is no way they build all that for a one time use. The amount of work is mindboggling. It is wasted time to build all that from a developer standpoint. But considering they did, I can't help but wonder if the city was meant for another project. That map was build in preperation of something bigger. Let me hope XD
The kh3 scala and X scala feel different. it may, of course because it was in different time, but this is Japanese game, and in Japanese fantasy settings it was common that there are this one city known as an academy city that have its own unique way of life, so it might be that what we see is only the academy city part only.
Unrelated, but I've noticed image stretches when close to the corners of the screen as if it were s fish-eye camera. Why is that? I know console versions of KH3 already had this. I just want to understand why this effect is a thing.
I'm assuming that because this might be them using the pc version and since the camera angles differ when it comes to certain things, that might be why. Here we can see things that we could not on the ps4 as Cynical said because of the invisible walls. However here, instead of the invisible walls when we reach delicate areas or smaller angles that r barely reachable, we have a stretching of the screen instead. I could be completely wrong. That's just my thoughts on the matter.
My take on this is that this world had been in production for far too long, long before other worlds even began production, as it was somewhat shown back in 2014 with those cable town sketches and those 3D demos that were never shown to the public but to a small attendees group (hence the superb detail found in it) and they just kept going on and on until it was time to implement it in the game as the final product. It would stand to reason as some worlds in KH3 have less quality than this one graphically speaking and gameplay-wise too.

Here I And My Other Selfs Can Be ONE AT Scala Ad Caelum Man That Trailer Takes Me Way BACK Good Times❗️❗️ºoº ºoº ºoº ºoº ºoº ºoº
There’s that gamersjoint magic I love
All i can say is "WOW!!"
This world is absolutely stunning
How come in the scala we visit we don’t see the statue of ephemer? Or however it’s spelled.
Because the ending of khux was not out yet
Did Square intend to have Xehanort as the intro character? This seems like waaay too much detail otherwise.
Is it just me or in 9:04 there is a twilight town logo in the wall???
It might be, 4:35 also kinda looks like twilight town maybe there connections.
15:58 … maybe that is a reference to Brain’s hat 👹
I hope so badly we can get a scala that is lived in. Just inhabited by different people oh that would be so so cool. A man can always dream
Is this world confirmed to be related to the Final World?
If you add this architecture to the final world, what would be the difference? And the other Scala, the night version from Missing Link. The pitch black sky, with the contorted stars? If you subtract the architecture, it resembles the place Sora met Yozora (night time Final World)
Such a beautiful place that feels oddly familiar... perhaps it is designed to feel that way?
18:10 left sign; anyway reading this as “longway”
That’s some nice videography you done there Cynical 🔥😂
Y'all know where I can find the Scala Craigslist so I can find an apartment here for me and the homies?
Lol
We better come back here as King Mickey in the upcoming games.
Yen sid sent him there so he will
You can get the modmenu without using a summon now
Can some one tell me the ost title on this footage?
There is no way they build all that for a one time use. The amount of work is mindboggling. It is wasted time to build all that from a developer standpoint. But considering they did, I can't help but wonder if the city was meant for another project. That map was build in preperation of something bigger.
Let me hope XD
I want an official Kingdom Hearts language translator or a book to be released so we can learn read the language of Scala at Caelum.
Can’t smash that like button hard enough
If you look in the eater youcan find the bones of the Dandelions
There are 36 Islands in Scala ad Caelum
All the island together make the Mickey Mouse shape when looking from atop
My take on this is that this world had been in production for far too long, long before other worlds even began production, as it was somewhat shown back in 2014 with those cable town sketches and those 3D demos that were never shown to the public but to a small attendees group (hence the superb detail found in it) and they just kept going on and on until it was time to implement it in the game as the final product. It would stand to reason as some worlds in KH3 have less quality than this one graphically speaking and gameplay-wise too.
Despite Kingdom Hearts III Remind letting us "explore" Scala, I feel like we didn't explore it enough
Since were on the game you might as well drop the review
