Don’t forget: the Scala in KH3 is a “dream” version based on Xehanort’s memories of it. He even says “of all the places, we end up here.” So it may not be a 100% accurate depiction of Scala
It's less of a dream and more of his actual memories during his time in Scala. He did stay there, he didn't exactly dream it up.."of all places, we ended up here" he was referring to Scala being inside the Kingdom Hearts he unlocked. Maybe Scala had been lost during his lifetime? he was surprised to find it there. As throughout KH series we believed that KH was a place of either light, darkness or both. Not an actual world or civilisation.
The scala you visit is in kh3 isn’t real but xehanort’s memory of the place when he was a student (hence, why there aren’t any people walking around). The real scala is the one Yen Sid instructed Mickey to go to at the end of kh:mom. Also, don’t forget that time flows differently in this world
I agree with this. I don’t see why they would have Brain end up in this different looking Scala if they were just setting him up to be Eraqus’ ancestor. I really hope he meets Mickey
Yeah, if anything, the upside-down tower from Daybreak Town may just be remnant's of KHUx's player character's memories from within Xehanort rather than it actually being underwater. After all, some of the player's memories remain with Xehanort and he initially seeks out exploring other worlds because of this. I do disagree with your second point, though. I think that the Scala as seen in Xehanort's heart is still similar to what it is actually like currently because this is what Scala looked like in his and Eraqus's youth (Dark Road), rather than the city we see Brain end up in. It is a possibility that it is just another part of the world, though!
Yeah, it's likely darkness found a way to escape, and they felt compelled to protect it by sealing the darkness below most likely. Could be why Xehanort was taken away to escape too. Perhaps people had to flee so they wouldn't be sealed along with the darkness.
I wonder if Scala’s look is meant to foreshadow a villain of “light”, considering that paint, decorations, toys, etc., all become bleached when left in the sun too long. If the Scala we saw was Xehanort’s memories, then the small patches of color we see around the place could just be upkeep trying to mask the damage the light has done so far. I remember making sunglasses jokes when I got to Scala during KH3, because that sun is BRIGHT, and combined with the white buildings, I was sure everyone’s eyes were one step away from blindness. If it was intended to foreshadow the dangers of too much light, this would make sense.
The Master Defender has the ability to change the land of departure completely, so I wouldn't be surprised if it was used to turn the ruins of daybreak to past Scala and past Scala into present scala
@@sarthakarora3212 Does that confirm he created it though? You can use a machine without having created it. Still begs the question how a replica was created in Radiant Garden, and by what means the creator managed to reconstruct it. Probably had to know about Scala.
My idea is that it’s just an older part of Scala. Like maybe Brain ended up in Scala 200 years before Xehanort’s time. And over time that area changed.
@@antares_m but living "countless lives" doesn't mean that those lives have to always be long, if every life was short lived, even a century can imply a large amount of "body-hoping"
@@cybersoulxiii2946 yeah, but even if they were actually short, let's say 5 years, he would have switched like 20 bodies a Keyblade doesn't get bequeathed THAT quickly that doesn't seem like "countless lives" to me tbh that's why I believe that 100 years is still a very little time span i like to think that χ happened around 1000+ years before, it gives a sort of mythological vibe to the series
@@antares_m well, yeah, 100 years from Dark Road to BBS would make sense but from Union Cross to BBS its true that still seems short (even when you count in short-lived incarnations)... Maybe we are informed about this on KH4.9 😂
I don't know about the time travel theory, but I'm still of the mind that the woman who we think is Xehanort's mother gave him to the hooded figure to try to save him from a disaster that was about to befall the world. Whoever was the wielder of The Master's Defender used it to transform Scala into what we know it as today from Dark Road and KH3. Maybe the hooded figure time traveled or maybe they just took Xehanort to Destiny Islands and in that decade plus they had rebuilt the world
That might be. One thing with time travel is that there should be an original timeline. Even with the edging in the heart stuff happening. And since kingdom hearts never seems to explain which is which until something happens, where the user needs to go back, who won't know. (Examples: Sora in KH III at the keyblade graveyard, Young Xehanort / Xehanort seeker of darkness during the Xehanort saga.) With that being said, we also have now at least three versions of time travel within the game. (The pods, edging of the heart and abusing the power of waking. All have different requirements to pull off and their own limitations. With the pods being the most extended version meaning that one is not bonded to the time they experienced/lived as long there is a person who remembers them and a conduit [a tool or item of their possession/value to them in their lifetime] in order for them to manifest in said time.) [This might also be the reason why Luxu wasn't allowed to open the box until said time. And this is just a theory, but as soon as one remembers the person while seeing the conduit, they manifest the person to the said timeline, if the conditions are met. One thing consistent in the KH Universe until now is, that they leave their physical body behind, in some someway, shape or form. Either through death or stop existing at a point in time to move on to the next.]
I’m assuming the robed figure is ansem? As we seen ansem use many times before and confirmed by young xehanort. The hooded figure falling over is him disappearing.. not death. I feel as though ansem told his mom? We don’t know really that xehanort has a great destiny ahead of him or even that he will be back eventually giving her hope.
@@chaellExE i feel as though time in the kingdom hearts games is to put it in slightly positive way to retcon something that happens if no one likes it, kinda like they do in comics or anime. I am wondering if the pods and power of waking allow you go past your death or before your birth as it was never explained but shedding your heart only allows you to manipulate events but not change destined events. I’m also wondering if the pods and power of waking let you change destined events. We are never really sure if sora in the keyblade graveyard using the power of waking changed events or him going back just triggered what supposed to really happen.
@@adammorin2955 Yeah that is definitely true. We don't really know much of the power of waking. Most of what we know has been said by YX and experienced through Sora. But Sora had become an unreliable narrator during KHIII. We used to know what Sora said, meant to do, and was able to. But with every reset of his character, he also seems to lose the parts that we knew and could count of from him. And that was that his actions and words were matching with what we saw on screen or knew of him. And with KH III that became less. As with the powers of waking and everything else, we won't know unless it is spoken about.
I don't think the Scala shown in the KHUX finale is ancient Scala. I believe that's actually the modern Scala in present day where Sora and all them exist. I think its some Jak and Daxter shit going on where Xehanort was actually born in the future and was brought back to the past by the old man. You know because of destiny or whatever.
Remember when dark road mentioned that time in worlds that are being recompleted flows differently? I'm thinking Xehanort was brought to the incomplete destiny islands (no people) so while only a few years passed for Xehanort it could've been a hundred or more in Scala.
@@yodarusev I don’t think that’s possible, because Xehanort is infamous on the islands as the boy that disappeared from them years ago. Not sure how they’d hear about that story if there were no people around.
I really like that transformation theory, just like land of departure and castle oblivion. But if i recall correctly, in dark road we learned that time floats differently in each world. So isn't it possible that time goes faster in scala? Maybe those 10 or so years that child xehanort passed in destiny islands were actually much more for scala? What I'm trying to say is that maybe 10 years time in destiny islands could be equivalent to 100 years in scala or sth. It is very possible that I'm missing something that makes my theory wrong, but i think that the fact that time floats differently in each world is not taken enough into perspective. Much love my boy jared❤️
There are two Scala Ad Caelums. The one Ephemer built as a tribute to Daybreak Town. And the modern one. Something happened which caused the city to be rebuilt. Xehanorts mother knew this event was going to take place and made sure that he was safe. He only came back later after it was rebuilt. Why else would the old Daybreak town underneath Scala look almost exactly like modern Scala, but also be upside down? If Daybreak town was destroyed, there wouldn't be a clock tower left over
Most see Brain’s hat as the medium for his return, but his own keyblade was the Master’s Defender and Ephemer never took his hat with him. What do you think?
@@Growmetheus This is a point of contention that I picked up on as well. How did they get Brain's hat? He still had it with him when Ephemer and Skuld left, so how is it possible that it wound up in the future? The only thing I can really think of is an explaination/theory that's a little complex. Here we go: I think there's two Brains. There's the Brain who was sent into the future via the lifeboat, and there's the Brain who is Luxu. Luxu-Brain can't wear a hat because of the cloak, right? This is were it starts getting complex. He survives the fall of Daybreak Town, and he, at some point, comes to Scala ad Caelum by normal means, not by one of the lifeboats, and discards his hat there. At some future point, Ancient Scala is in turmoil, and Luxu-Brain is like, "Not again. I need to fix this." He gets ahold of a cloak, discards his hat in Scala, and travels back in time to become the Master of Masters pupil. At this point, Luxu-Brain could already very well be a Master and knows how to time travel much like Young Xehanort can, without the need of a vessel. Now, under the disguise of being the MoM's pupil, with the hood of the cloak, he can conseal his face. He takes careful care of not running into his friends. We don't see him interact with them as Luxu, and they would probably recognize his voice. There's a point where Luxu goes to the computer to open up a lifeboat to put in that white-cloaked figure. Who's always in front of the computer? Brain. Luxu-Brain tells Past-Brain he's quite brilliant, after just meeting him. Who better than himself would know he's quite brilliant? Luxu-Brain, in the past, completely familiarizes himself with the computer before even talking to Past-Brain. Luxu-Brain speeds up the process of saving Ancient Scala's destruction by a number of years before it's too late to do so by telling Past-Brain exactly how the lifeboats work. The memories of him in the future is tied to his hat, not so much his Keyblade because he relinquished ownership of it to Ephemer. It's kind of an dilemma when you think about it, who would you want to save more? A bunch of the Dandelions you don't know, or save another world from destruction that was founded by your best friend? Also, as a side note, who else is extremely smart and is a master of disguise and deception? Xigbar's original self, Braig, which is just one letter away from being Brain. What if Braig is just an older Brain, with just a slight change of his name? To quote Xigbar telling Sora: "You aren't half the heroes the others were." Not only could he be referring to Terra, Ventus and Aqua, but he could also be referring to his old friends. Also, this just hit me, who is it that found Marluxia? Xigbar. In talking to Zexion: "I found one the other day. Mar-something." Either this is just a concidence, or there's more than meets the eye here, and I personally want to go with the latter. Sorry about the long reply, but complex ideas tend to be rather long.
@@GeminiWolfstarGaming I really really like this theory a lot tobe honest. My only thing is I feel as though if luxu-brain goes back to talk to brain(himself) wouldn’t brain right away say hey your me! I feel as though either two things happened brain is in the keyblade graveyard and hid the box. Because xigbar has no idea where the box is in kh3 and in the reports he stats he passes the keyblade down. The only person he talks to is brain so he passed it down to him no taking over him. Now I feel as brain might of either time traveled into the future, or used the keyblade to enter scala in the future as worlds have different ways of time passing. So im assuming brain is in the very future the time where sora and mickey all them are as dark road seems to be different time of scala and the technology of scala looks advanced in union x.
@@adammorin2955 I'm glad you like my theory! I try my best. And if I'm completely off base and wrong, that's okay. "Hey, you're me!" 🤣I actually want to see that played out now! That would awesomely hilarious! And now that you point it out, Scala does seem to have more advanced technology in Union X. Sigurd was able to file a report by some kind of communication device, like a Bluetooth earpiece.
I will say, it would be a pretty shocking twist if it turned out that Xehanort and Eraqus' Scala was actually the original version of Scala from hundreds of years in the past, and that something happened in Dark Road that sent Xehanort and Eraqus into the future, which would be why they never mention Scala or reside there (Xehanort was a wandering master in BBS, and Eraqus just lived at Land of Departure). If Dark Road makes that theory a reality, I'm gonna lose my s*it.
I reckon it's more likely the same as what turned Land of Departure into Castle Oblivion. I don't think most of those islands were ever inhabited, I think they're more like memorials or locks or something.
That time theory makes sense since our avatar character's heart was joined with Xehanort's in the end, which could mean that we joined with Xehanort sometime shortly after we disappeared and then he was taken to the future along with our avatar's heart while still a baby.
Super happy to see you uploading so much lately dude. Was a big fan and regular viewer pre KH3 and leading up to it. However, I felt KH3 was a bit disappointing and had to take a break from the series. Your coverage of all the recent story content is helping me keep up to date, and rekindling my love of the series. Hope you keep it up!
@@oblatespheroid6346 I mean to be fair that’s been said pretty much every time, but I will admit it feels different this time, especially with him now being single cus he kinda make it seem like that whole thing was holding him back in a way
But it's like with hollow bastion and then radiant garden. Then also Land of Departure being Castle Oblivion...we have seen world change entirely before.
maybe another world ending event happened. Or they just like renovating. it has been shown that the keyblade masters has a knack for rearranging their world like how master eraqus's ancestors built a mechanism to turn land of departure into castle oblivion.
I believe all KHog world are part of daybreak town an floats away After the nuke thing... and new people come and mind there own buisnesses or forgot about keyblades and stuff because of peace or somthing
Only one of my opinions differs from this, Xehanort traveled to the past. He's from the future. 👀👀👀👀 WARNING: POTENTIAL SPOILERS AHEAD: Sigurd and Brain are in the Future Scala and Brain reappeared after Xigbar/Luxu committed Sudoku in KH3.
I have scrolled pretty far through the comments and haven't seen anyone mention this, so I'm going to say it. There is definitely another theory to be made other than "time travel" after watching the current Dark Road episodes (thanks to Everglow as always!) They mention that the worlds outside of Scala are still being rebuilt from falling into darkness, and while they are rebuilding themselves, time flows differently in each world. To the point where it is hinted at that the story of the world loops when the Queen of Hearts doesn't remember Young Xehanort. I think Destiny Islands is one of those worlds. Hundreds to Thousands of years could have passed on Scala if Xehanort grew up on an incomplete Destiny Islands with a slow/inexistent passage of time. Also, if we want to move forward with the idea of the Blue Robe being an older Ephemer, he could have known to take Xehanort to the islands because of the Book of Prophecies that Brain gave to him before entering the Ark. If something bad does happen to the old Scala and destroys it. Ephemer also could have foreseen it from the Book and made plans to preserve Scala.
I would think so unless Radiant Garden either 1.) has one of its own 2.) Was moved from Scala/Daybreak to RG 3.) or RG is a form of Scala the same way Daybreak is. :/
It is a possibility, but the pod we see in Radiant Garden could also be a recreation of the original, one that was made better since the original was incomplete. When you travel in the pods, you can end up anywhere with a relic of your life or someone who remembers you.
@@ChawletMelk oooorrrr time travel is involved and someone in the future went back to make the pods there to make sure it’s ready for kiari! Maybe MoM?
Oh! Sora and Riku got to the sleeping worlds by diving 'into the ocean'. Sleep and Dreams and Death are close together, as KH3 revealed. KH3 also had that part in the Pirates world where they did the whole upside-down ocean, thing. What if Ephemer's Scala being built on the ruins of Daybreak Town was like... I'm missing some pieces, but what if that was in the Sleeping Realm, and by sealing it away and turning it into the modern Scala - flipping the ocean, basically - it brought the living Keyblade wielders to the World of Light and sealed away the Sleeping Realm so the Dream Eaters were isolated from the Darkness and safe while they tried to work out what to do? AKA, what if the Scala we played through in KH3 is on the 'other side' of the Sleeping Realm
I try to think of Eraqus and the keyblade he was passed down. We ruled out that Brain was a part of Eraqus's bloodline because we saw that Brain gave the keyblade to Ephemer. However, now that Brain is in Scala Ad Caelum, it's possible that he had gotten his older keyblade back. Maybe Ephemer left it for him, knowing this day would come? From there, I think the Brain's task may have been to shape Scala in his image, to make it a new world for keyblade wielders to harness their skills, in preparation for being masters. In doing this, many many year have passed, so much so that we're looking at 2nd/maybe 2rd descendant of Brain, Eraqus, who know wields the same keyblade, that WAS actually passed down to him. Another thing I thought was interesting, was that machine at 12:14, you can see that Daybreak town "broke" and all that was left was the tower amongst rubble. It's not under the water at the point, but clearly shown to be the only thing left standing, above ground. Maybe the tower WAS all that was left, and that's what Ephemer built Scala on in the beginning, where Brain picks up on that effort years down the line when he's transported to what was then, the beginning of Scala, and deciding maybe that they needed to start fresh, or maybe there was something from Daybreak Town in that tower that would hinder a new world of Scala, so the world bending was used. If you look at the underwater daybreak town, it..isn't just the tower there, as there are plenty of pointing buildings surrounding the tower that look similar to those of the Scala that Brain had seen. I believe that the underwater terrain we see if that of the original Scala Ad Caelum
I think that either Scala ad Caelum from Kingdom hearts X could of evolved into the Scala of Dark Roads and Kh3 through time or was transformed by the Masters defender KeyBlade used by Brain.
Also I was replaying birth by sleep and in xanort's first report the was a mention of meeting a Master. Like Master was the Name and Title. What if it was the MOMs?
Lol when I first went to Scala ad Caelum I actually wondered if it was based off of some Greek place.. XD Maybe Square Enix took notes from Santorini? Looking up how Santorini looks it does look possible… lol I mean a lot of video game and anime series do often take real world inspiration.
Knowing Kingdom Hearts, the diorama showing the city being flipped over is probably hyper-literal and is exactly what happened to Scala 1.0 and gave rise to Scala 2.0... but Why?!?! Also, anybody else thinks it would be symbolic for Ephemer and the Player character to both be reincarnated as Eraqus and Xehanort? Both connected and have memories of each other. Kinda adds another layer to watching them pass on to the realm of light at the end of Kingdom Hearts III as two reunited reincarnated hearts can pass on together after so many years. Thoughts?
i just think its in another island, or that brain might have shown up to Scala when mickey is supposed to be there. (current time) because i have think sinking feeling that the gazing eye and the master's defender will return to their OG wielders Luxu and Brain respectively.
I bet that whatever calamity befalls old Scala (say, a second fall to darkness after Daybreak Town is destroyed) is somehow known about by Xehanort’s mom, and that’s why she sends him away with the robed figure. Almost like the story of Moses being sent away by his mother in a river to avoid destruction.
Well actually we know that the arc survived the fall of Daybreak town as we see it in KH1 and again in Melody of Memory Apprentice Xehanort using it to send Kairi to Destiny Islands so yeah it is possible that Brain fixed the Arc it makes sense.
I personally dont think time travel was involved with bringing the Xhenort baby to Destiny Islands, at least not currently. This is a series were Xhenort can literally flip/warp a city, was able to turn Land of Departure into Castle Oblivion(and vise versa) within seconds, and turn KH1 Hollow Bastion into KH2 Radiant Garden within a year. I think 14-ish years is enough believable time in this universe for Scala to go through such a drastic change in architecture. One theory I would like to throw out though is what if the Original Scala is on a different island from the ones we saw. What if the original Scala is the land they started building first then later decided to build multiple other islands(cones) around it and/or near it and later changed Scala's "capital" to the one we fight on in 3 for what ever reason. Theres been times we've been introduced worlds in KH where future games we go back to the same world and act like "Oh yeah BTW this area was always here when you came the first time you just never explored that area." (Examples: Olympus, Hollow Bastion, Travers Town, Destiny Islands, ect.). Another theory I'd like to put out, this one with no real evidence to back it other than it would be kinda cool. What If the city in the KH3 cover is the Original Scala? The architecture is kinda in the same style and KH covers in the past hinted at future worlds before. Ever since seeing the KH3 cover I've hoped/wanted to explore that place in a KH game so I would love it if this was actually the case.

I've been saying Daybreak Town/Scala Ad Caelem is also Land of Departure/Castle Oblivion since KH3's release for the same reasons you said but for some additional reasons as well. 1. We don't know if Land of Departure had a basement even though Castle Oblivion does. The basement area could originally be comprised from buildings or the tower from Daybreak Town/Scala Ad Caelem 2. Land of Departure has the mountains that we see in Daybreak Town and ancient Scala Ad Caelem

@@beautifulsoul9477 the “Scala language” is actually used in pretty much every original world as far as I’m aware, just look around at posters in twilight town and you’ll see what I mean, I think some of it might even be on something in Merlin’s house too? On the normal wiki's article for the Kingdom Hearts series, there's an image mapping out the the chrono order of the games, and, in the info pane, it says that there's 1000 years between KH [U]χ and BbS. I dunno where the creator of that image got that bit of info from(haven't really looked into it), but thought I'd point it out
The main tower in Scala looks like the tower in Land of Departure...I wonder if Departure is yet another form of Daybreak Town. Daybreak Town→Old Scala→New Scala→Land of Departure→Casle Oblivion (until it got unsealed, when it did it reverted back to LoD) The only stage of the whole aging or sealing of that area that really looked different was Castle Oblivion. Even if KH3's version is a memory we also got to see a version of it in Dark Road. That is if most of us played DR.
Nomura have to decide what keyblade is : An artifact that can design a whole dimension Or a cosplay accessory (because even now I have not seen sora winning against cloud, who is wielding a simple chunk of metal)
Remember that there are still arcs that have not been destroyed. We seen a room with five of them in the original Kingdom Hearts in the end of the world, meaning that this room exists somewhere after Sora restored the places that were lost in that game, and probably existed before the events of KH1 aswell.
They're also the fact that time is also moving WAY slower still for the other worlds. The Queen of Hearts hasn't aged much from Dark Road to KH1 basically. In Dark Road, they said the worlds are moving slowly to the realm of Light compared to Scala and thus their time is slowly progressing. Bady Xehanort might have been plopped on a slowly ageing Destiny Islands and he would not have realized it growing up as well. Time dilation is in effect still after the Break. Basically, time travelling the long route. ;)
As Darkroad pointed out, the world's run on separate timeframes some faster or even slower than others. This is proven with Tron World we see was a copy of the original that end up finding has advanced drastically before it went asleep. With Brain being Eraqus grandfather, we know it took at least two generations til the events of Dark Road. Meaning at least 50 to 100 years had to pass. Plenty of time for any civilzation to progress or change.
I think it’s literally just different weather in UX, the city looks darker because the sun isn’t beating down on it and its a gloomy day. Boring as that might sound for a theory. Also don’t forget that this Scala is Xehanorts dream, maybe the real Scala in the realm of light looks much different.
What if there are multiple areas of Scala based off of different real world architecture?? Like we see a London looking area and that other place already, maybe there are other areas that we haven’t seen yet. Like areas based around Rome, Italy, & new orleans? Considering Mickey is going here in a future KH game, maybe this could be how they incorporate the potential Disney worlds he’d likely visit. Like we could see 101 Dalmatians finally show up as a world in that London area of Scala
Maybe they had trouble sealing their darkness completely inside them so Brain and Ephemer tasked the higher ups with sealing them and old Scala all together and rebuild the new Scala on top
Idk why it’s hard to believe the city just had an overhaul we see it all the time in real life and most times it doesn’t even take 100 years passing. You can come to and old timey, country town that’s transformed into a bussling city scape in the course of a single lifetime. It happens for sure
Another option could be something similar to Land of Departure/Castle Oblivion. Maybe Brain was like there's a secret to lock a way and fundamentally changed Old Scala to new Scala.
Okay so hear me out In dark road, xehanort said that the worlds haven't formed yet and time flow differently in these said worlds so even if it's possible that he got time traveled keep in minds the worlds haven't matured? As he suggests, but this make destiny island even more mysterious because it's technically one of the first worlds appeared after scala ad caelum. So with this in mind, it means that destiny island either had a very slow time flow than scala ad caelum which explains why nobody was in destiny island other than xehanort and the old man or the other way around.
Glad to see you again regularly bro, i remember you from back when I didn't even care/know about the KH story lmao. Like, PS3 days I believe Stay blessed bro
I feel like the man that took baby Xehanort put only Xehanort in a pod to take him to the future. He could be just strong enough to take care of himself so he would be able to live out his days until he could reunite with baby Xehanort (he probably escaped Scala with his own power). He could be the one that has the memory of Xehanort, and the towel that holds baby Xehanort could be the object. I figure the man didn't put the towel in the pod, or he could simply have another object entirely, but the towel was the only object we saw in the cutscene. Also because the man waited for Xehanort (kinda like Captain America), he grew too old that once he ensured Xehanort's safety, he dropped dead with old age
I think I know what’s up with scala looking different. In dark road, it’s said that time moves differently for different worlds. For instance, in kh dr, Agraba is still forming the setting while wonderland already had people and finished forming. So maybe time in scala moves really fast compared to other worlds. So maybe 15 years on Destiny Islands for Xehanort was 100s of years for scala, explaining the difference between the Victorian scala of Xehanort’s babyhood and the modern p, more developed scala of Xehanort’s teens.
I do like the idea that the master defender changed old scala into new scala. The bad thing I feel that happened that caused baby nort to leave might be the combination of xehanorts mom reading the book of prophecies and maybe some civil war in scala. Vehanorts might be ephemers descendant and since ephemer had the book he passed it down his lineage until xehanorts mom read it and tried sending xehanort away to prevent the future she read. The old man who takes him could an old brain who watches him as long as his life can until he gives out but heartless ansem comes to correct destiny. While that happened the civil war could be for leadership, for the book, or for both?
The diorama quite literally shows ancient Scarla flipping 180 degrees into the ocean, revealing modern Scarla. Pretty sure you're right on the money with this one my dude. Nice work! 😎
Probably this is like how the Land of Departure was sealed and made it into Castle Oblivion to protect something? I mean the naming system to completely different things as both "Scala" is "normal" now to KH. Time Travelling, Body Jumping, Reincarnation, Sealing places, hearts and persons are now normal to KH series as well - Parallel worlds and World Rebuilding/Changing won't be extraordinary now - so, I won't be surprise whatever this franchise can do 😅
My guess is Black Scala is modern day Scala Ad Caelum (as in after KH3). Mickey has been sent there by Yen Sid and I think in the next game it will be the black Scala Mickey arrives in. They wouldn’t waste time redesigning Scala for it to just appear in a few scenes - Black Scala will get its own world in KH4. I think Brain and Sigurd’s scene actually takes place after KH3. I feel they want Brain in KH4 so it makes more sense for him to arrive in this time period. We don’t know what Scala looks like today because Sora’s visit was a projection from the past. I could potentially see Mickey meeting Brain and Sigurd’s group there. The only confusing thing is Xehanort was born in Black Scala too. I think that robed figure took Baby Xehanort back in time, not just to another world. That woman (who is possibly Skuld) is part of Sigurd’s group. If it is Skuld, she may have gone from Subject X to being taken to Black Scala by Sigurd’s group. Or there could just be some crazy event like when Xehanort died in KH3, he was reborn immediately which is the baby we see. But I still strongly believe Black Scala is modern day. I think Xehanort or Erasmus will do something at the end of Dark Road where they turn White Scala into Black Scala like when Land of Departure became Castle Oblivion (Eraqus possibly learnt that trick from here).
so Yen Sid told the KH gang that the next puzzle piece in locating Sora would be in Scala Ad Caelum. What if Scala is just another sleeping world and that's why its upside down. Chirithy said the realm of sleep and death border each other so closely, so if Aqua uses Brain's Keyblade to wake Scala maybe it'll look the same as it did in UX?
Honestly, I think old Scala Ad Caelum is below the new one. It's possible something terrible happened, and they decided to not talk about it and just keep it a secret. Maybe darkness found a way to escape etc? And they still wanted to honor Ephemer as the original creator by keeping the old city still there but below. I'm pretty sure of this, as the city below surrounding the tower has more pointed roofs like the old Scala Ad Caelum, compared to Daybreak Town. And I'm sure Ephemer was just nostalgic and rebuilt the tower from Daybreak Town to look like it for Scala Ad Caelum. That makes the most sense to me, because remember we saw the gears literally of the Daybreak Town tower everywhere, along with seeing the roof caving in when Ephemer and Skuld escaped. Pretty sure the tower was decimated too. Only thing is how in the world did Ephemer rebuild this town into Scala Ad Caelum? And how did he get keyblade weilders? Did he awaken the ones trapped in the data Daybreak Town somehow from that single surviving transporter he came out of? Or were they all new? 🤔 I can only assume maybe the keyblade has the power to rebuild? But idk who must have instructed him how to do it etc? Maybe Ava came back and assisted him? But why is he the sole listed creator with a statue? 🤔 Just more questions than answers as usual lol. 🤣
The world in KH3 was from Xehanorts heart, I think that's the only reason he could flip it. And with Xehanort being the Players reincarnation I'm not convinced the Daybreak Town tower is really under Scala but that that was symbolic of the Players heart. The world being changed by the blade make sense tho, (weird it wouldn't have a different name like when that usually happens) I still believe Land of Departure is Scala after something happened (probably how Dark Road will end)
2 points. First of, the living mural in Scala in KH3 (yes, I know it's a memory version, but hear me out) explicitly spells out that Daybreak Town was destroyed and then rebuilt as Scala. Second, at the end of MoM, Yen Sid sends Mickey to Scala and Caelum. That says that it still exists as Scala. We have no reason to believe that a world can be reconfigured multiple times. Eraqus did say "Our ancestors devised a certain 'trick'"" but that could also refer to Daybreak town being reconfigured and the knowledge of how being passed down.
@@stevenhiggins3055 Just because Daybreak was rebuild as Scala, that doesn't mean that its was literally built over it. I'm also in the camp that seeing the Daybreak tower in KH3 was symbolic, more so now that we know the ending to KHUX. I'm actually thinking the main tower the final battle of KH3 takes place on might be a renovated Daybreak tower.
@@stevenhiggins3055 You're right about MoM and Scala. But the mural doesn't prove the tower is literally under the main Scala island (it could possibly be) it just shows what we already know, that Scala was built on the ground (water?) where Daybreak Town use to be.
7:26 As I'm sure you know DDD explained exactly who that is: ua-cam.com/video/idL-hEDRS6g/v-deo.html (time stamped link to the appropriate scene in a DDD cutscene compilation) In case you're hesitant to trust a link I'll explain through text as well: The True Organization put Sora into a "second sleep" upon arriving at The World That Never Was and Young Xehanort explained several things to him. The first thing Sora witnessed was Brown Robed Figure approaching Past Young Xehanort on that beach. As this scene silently played out in front of him the Young Xehanort of the Organization spoke up from his "seat" next to Sora, drawing his gaze, and said the following: "Yes. This was where it started. At this point, I still had no idea that I was talking to myself. He cast away his bodily form just to set me on the appointed path. That is Xehanort reduced to just a heart-the being you and your friends called "Ansem."
My theory on this is Luxu possesed Brain traveled slightly through time to after Ephemer created Scala which we saw and Ephemer ruled over training keyblade weilders but i believe sometime after getting there Luxu/Brain took over Scala taking control and reign over it transforming it into the new Scala we see and i believe Xehanort could be Ephemers Son hence why the robed figure took the baby and left because he would technically be the rightful "king" of Scala as being a son of Ephemer and so they hid the baby from Luxu/Brain.. this could be why the MoMs keyblade is a big thing in the new Scala maybe it has been passed down from master to master or host to host after Luxu took over Scala
The technology of the pods the master created has improved and it is possible a medium and memories are no longer needed to time travel. How do I know this? Kairi was shoved into one by Ansem Xehanort and she appeared in Destiny Islands just fine. I think Ephemer just built the foundation of Scala and then once Brain got there he gave back the Masters Defender and the lead of the city to him. Then, for some reason Ephemer took Xehanort at the request of the mother and raised him elsewhere, were he died after Xehanort grew up. What you say about a tragedy occurring is perhaps true, Scala has a MASSIVE graveyard as we saw in Dark Road so we are yet to see what happened to brain
That's the thing. We don't know for how long he was away from the older Scala. since it is a big change we could consider that he was gone from older Scala for longer than 15 years to be maybe a possibility
That transformation happened with the mental world of Xehanort since he was a portal. Thus having more power to manifest and create/change and destroy things on a whim as he sees fit. The transformation thing he used left the city in ruins. As the last battle took place before moving on to the grand place for the final battle, you can see the city in ruins beyond the boundaries of the playable scene where the battle takes place. So I doubt that this theory is even true. With that being said there also seems to be something else taking place when the master defender is used to shift place to another form. As was with the lands of departure. Those who see the place remember only the new form it takes and the new name besides the person who changed it. Castle Oblivion was the name until Aqua changed it back to the land of departure.
The version of Scala ad Caelum we visit in KH3 is actually within Xehanort's heart, and is the way he remembers it when he was young. It is not clearly said WHEN does Braine appear in Scala, but it could be the Scala before Xehanort's time OR after Xehanort's time. The architecture style is surely different to the Scala we know, which could be a clue. Just a personal opinion but even though the place seems like the same as when we see baby Xehanort, I would be super hyped if Braine was in the current Scala ad Caelum (which would leads us towards Mickey coming to Scala in order to find clues about the Ancient Keyblade Masters as it is referred at the end of Melody of Memory)
Im guessing the scala we've seen is xehanort's version of scala (portal through his heart so making it his version) the scala we saw with brain is the current scala in the real world where sora and the others are in
The theory of sealing like birth by sleep also seems more logical to me (plus in dark road is mentioned that eraqus grandfather fought darkness right? What if it wasn't reffered to at what happened to the data world and more like something bad happened to scala thus the fight) that had to seal it and transform scala? 🤔 I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS BY THE WAY! 😍
Maybe Xehanort was born in a more modern Scala. I say this because the clean looking Scala reminds me of old Greek architecture, while the Scala Xehanort is born into looks more steam punk-ish? More technology? When Xehanort used the portal to go from Destiny Islands back to Scala, he may have went to the past. And some point later, Xehanort and Eraqus have to escape back to Xehanort's actual time.
Im pretty sure the reason for Scala Ad Caelum looks different from when Xehanort was young and when Brain arrived is because of a time difference. Brain arrives in a much farther past than from when Xehanort was there.
KHUX ENDING THEORY: My Prediction is that the MoM knows about the reincarnation and dream eaters but i think one thing was excluded that not just the Heart gets rewritten and reincarnated but also the Darkness and light meaning even if they were to destroy the Darknesses they would simply be recycled and reused take for example Terra ,Aqua and Kairi they have striking remblence with the foretellers and carry a Strong Light but also have similar manner and behaviour like Aced and Terra. So my theory is the Foretellers died which led to their heart reincarnating but are also at the same time alive in the Data World to later on get taken into the Future by Luxu meaning there are 2 copies of the same Heart Terra-Aced, Ava-Kairi and Aqua-Invi so what does that mean? I Predict because the Light and Darkness cant be destroyed he either wants them to die by their own Heart of equal force (because they carry the Darkness Luxu sets free by opening the box) meaning a light of similar power or The MoM knows he cant break the cycle so he simply needs to bring the Darkness to a World outside the realm of Reality, a realm of fiction, a realm without Light and Darkness "Quadratum" As to how the MoM knows about reincarnation there is a possibility that he knows before the time of Daybreak Town as he has mentioned a lot of his friends died by the Hands of Darkness which led them to reincarnating they later turned out to be the foretellers why else would he raise them besides the reason that he knows them.
Or what if Quadratum is actually an alternate version of Scala in the distant future, which itself manifests as a fragment previously known as Traverse town which crossed world lines and travelled into Sora's timeline. A fantastic plotline which exists only in Nomura's psychedelic dreams. Confused yet? I know I am. I've been confused with the KH plot since the release of KHDays a lifetime ago. 😂
One thing i still don't understand after Union X is the whole "the world once whole" thing mentioned in X and back cover. How were all the separate worlds created? were they all one world or different worlds? i didn't keep up with Union X to understand that part (I'm still confused why Micky, donald and goofy were in Unchained X ^^").
With the ability to change an *ENTIRE HECKING WORLD*, who knows what worlds could be something secretly important! Could Hollow Bastion/Radiant Garden be the Final Fantasy world, sealed away for some reason? What secrets is Traverse Town hiding? ...What even is "The World That Never Was"...?
Man times were much simpler during kh1 my brain is so fried trying to figure out the kh universe so convoluted and confusing still great but just boggles the mind
Well time travel is almost a certainty assuming the age of Fairy Tales is hundreds of years in the past and Xehanort is a reincarnation of the player from KHUX and that the reincarnation happened soon after the players demise.
Don’t forget: the Scala in KH3 is a “dream” version based on Xehanort’s memories of it. He even says “of all the places, we end up here.” So it may not be a 100% accurate depiction of Scala
I agree with you, in fact because its Xehanort's dream, he could control it, much like how we can control the narrative of a lucid or day-dream
But in dark road it shows scala the same as kh3
^
It's less of a dream and more of his actual memories during his time in Scala. He did stay there, he didn't exactly dream it up.."of all places, we ended up here" he was referring to Scala being inside the Kingdom Hearts he unlocked.
Maybe Scala had been lost during his lifetime? he was surprised to find it there. As throughout KH series we believed that KH was a place of either light, darkness or both. Not an actual world or civilisation.
@@fintansky9369 ya because he remembers how Scala was since he lived there before.
I agree with you
But in dark road scala is the same as the KH3 version, and they remark that all of the other islands are empty.
@@kimmythain, right on the money, friend
If there had to be an overhaul, I believe the idea of transforming / "sealing" a world/city like in BBS would be the most logical result.
I came to comment this. I think the world was probably sealed.
I'ma agree with this one.
Yeah, it's likely darkness found a way to escape, and they felt compelled to protect it by sealing the darkness below most likely. Could be why Xehanort was taken away to escape too. Perhaps people had to flee so they wouldn't be sealed along with the darkness.
Nahh the scala is white when xehanort is Young... probably its just diferent eras, the darker scala is more "new" and the white scala old.
Eraqus may have sealed Scala and moved on to Land of Departure. Since he inherited the Master Defender.
Also there is a rebuilt ark in Hollow Bastion/ Radiant Garden
@@crosshant4596 Yeah how did that get there? Maybe whatever happened to ancient Scala caused Brain to relocate there.

My idea is that it’s just an older part of Scala. Like maybe Brain ended up in Scala 200 years before Xehanort’s time. And over time that area changed.
But its confirmed the X series takes place "over 100 years" before BBS as stated in KH timeline by Famitsu/Dengeki.

I thought it like this tpo but not so detailes
Because it’s before Brain got there.
The Scala after is post Brain

I don't think the Scala shown in the KHUX finale is ancient Scala. I believe that's actually the modern Scala in present day where Sora and all them exist. Well, it could be the oldest island that Ephemera built up first. You could consider each island as a district of a city.
Maybe this is, like, the "main island" of Scala?
True. There were multiple islands aside from the area we saw as Sora
@@BobbyTheGamerOfJUSTICE The islands were the "worlds" that the Road Not Traveled gang goes to.
Could also be why xehanort and the women we presume is his mother never meeting again
If Daybreak town was destroyed, there wouldn't be a clock tower left over
It could have undergone a similar transformation to The Land of Departure.
I hope the old Scala is still around, it looks so cool and I would freaking love to see Ephemer's statue and the town in 3D
In dark road it was revealed that the worlds are still in the middle of coming back and at different times
so stoked you’re back, but take it easy bro! ur putting out content like crazy, don’t want ya getting burnt out! love ya man
Most see Brain’s hat as the medium for his return, but his own keyblade was the Master’s Defender and Ephemer never took his hat with him. What do you think?
Ironic, because Luxu is the Master’s defender. Kind of right there eh?
@@Growmetheus holy shit I've never thought of this!!!!!!! 🤯🤯🤯
@@Growmetheus This is a point of contention that I picked up on as well. How did they get Brain's hat? He still had it with him when Ephemer and Skuld left, so how is it possible that it wound up in the future? The only thing I can really think of is an explaination/theory that's a little complex. Here we go:
I think there's two Brains.
Yes! I was looking for something to watch!
That time theory makes sense since our avatar character's heart was joined with Xehanort's in the end, which could mean that we joined with Xehanort sometime shortly after we disappeared and then he was taken to the future along with our avatar's heart while still a baby.

WARNING:
POTENTIAL SPOILERS AHEAD:
Sigurd and Brain are in the Future Scala and Brain reappeared after Xigbar/Luxu committed Sudoku in KH3.
Wasn’t kairi and subject X kept in pods? Does that mean that radiant gardens is another part of Scala or even daybreak time ?
I would think so unless Radiant Garden either 1.) has one of its own 2.) Was moved from Scala/Daybreak to RG 3.) or RG is a form of Scala the same way Daybreak is. :/
It is a possibility, but the pod we see in Radiant Garden could also be a recreation of the original, one that was made better since the original was incomplete. When you travel in the pods, you can end up anywhere with a relic of your life or someone who remembers you.
Luxu was hanging around Radiant Garden for awhile so it's totally possible that he made or brought pods over there
@@ChawletMelk oooorrrr time travel is involved and someone in the future went back to make the pods there to make sure it’s ready for kiari! Maybe MoM?
3:31 It looks like a crater city. Reminds me of Vash.
Also I was replaying birth by sleep and in xanort's first report the was a mention of meeting a Master. Like Master was the Name and Title. What if it was the MOMs?
It has to have been because in Re:mind, we saw Young Xehanort talking to MOM in one of the cutscenes
i am from Greece and i can assure you, walking in Santorini is just like being in Scala ad Caelum lol
(current time) because i have think sinking feeling that the gazing eye and the master's defender will return to their OG wielders Luxu and Brain respectively.
maybe what happened to Scala was the same thing that happened to Radiant Garden when Xehanort sent Kairi away
There's different settlements/islands, so its likely one specific area in the world
Well actually we know that the arc survived the fall of Daybreak town as we see it in KH1 and again in Melody of Memory Apprentice Xehanort using it to send Kairi to Destiny Islands so yeah it is possible that Brain fixed the Arc it makes sense.
Hey, when you said Santorini, my smile was bigger than Jokers!!! This island is in my country!!!

I've been saying Daybreak Town/Scala Ad Caelem is also Land of Departure/Castle Oblivion since KH3's release for the same reasons you said but for some additional reasons as well.
1. We don't know if Land of Departure had a basement even though Castle Oblivion does. The basement area could originally be comprised from buildings or the tower from Daybreak Town/Scala Ad Caelem
2. Land of Departure has the mountains that we see in Daybreak Town and ancient Scala Ad Caelem
I wonder...think The World That Never was could be..... related somehow?

👄
I do remember those letters or characters that are on the street markers in Scala being in that world......
And if Xemnas had control of Xehanorts Armor and all that..what more could be related. It's a stretch though
@@beautifulsoul9477 the “Scala language” is actually used in pretty much every original world as far as I’m aware, just look around at posters in twilight town and you’ll see what I mean, I think some of it might even be on something in Merlin’s house too? It’s the only area of RG that we really get to look around in, cus the courtyard is fucking bare bones as can be lol
On the normal wiki's article for the Kingdom Hearts series, there's an image mapping out the the chrono order of the games, and, in the info pane, it says that there's 1000 years between KH [U]χ and BbS. I dunno where the creator of that image got that bit of info from(haven't really looked into it), but thought I'd point it out
This is the image I was talking about
commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Map_Kingdom_Hearts_Storyline_Basis.png
The main tower in Scala looks like the tower in Land of Departure...I wonder if Departure is yet another form of Daybreak Town.
Daybreak Town→Old Scala→New Scala→Land of Departure→Casle Oblivion (until it got unsealed, when it did it reverted back to LoD)
The only stage of the whole aging or sealing of that area that really looked different was Castle Oblivion.
Even if KH3's version is a memory we also got to see a version of it in Dark Road. That is if most of us played DR.
Nomura have to decide what keyblade is :
An artifact that can design a whole dimension
Or a cosplay accessory (because even now I have not seen sora winning against cloud, who is wielding a simple chunk of metal)
I mean that Guy’s Cloud after all, he claps hands listening to that Sephiroth theme song almost everyday
Boring as that might sound for a
theory. Also don’t forget that this Scala is Xehanorts dream, maybe the real Scala in the realm of light looks much different.
scala is a big stack of buildings. I imagine it didn't start out as a cone, but accumulated buildings over time as styles changed.
Okay so hear me out
In dark road, xehanort said that the worlds haven't formed yet and time flow differently in these said worlds so even if it's possible that he got time traveled keep in minds the worlds haven't matured? As he suggests, but this make destiny island even more mysterious because it's technically one of the first worlds appeared after scala ad caelum.
So with this in mind, it means that destiny island either had a very slow time flow than scala ad caelum which explains why nobody was in destiny island other than xehanort and the old man or the other way around.
Glad to see you again regularly bro, i remember you from back when I didn't even care/know about the KH story lmao. Like, PS3 days I believe
Stay blessed bro
My money is on the transformation "trick" that Eraqus knows
MAH BOI!...THIS WAS MY EXACT THEORY!... :D I kinda wrote a small part of my theory under your video of exploring the ruins of daybreak town.
You know, when the Land of Departure got changed into Castle Oblivion, it turned hella white and marble-y too.
Coincidence? Lol.
I was thinking it was like a Destiny Island type of thing where the Island is it's own thing but then we see the town in kh2
The sealing off-like theory is exactly what I thought. Especially with Ephemer's keyblade and possible power.
Rather than time travel, I think a simpler explanation is that time was moving slower on Destiny Islands when Xehanort was growing up
7:26 As I'm sure you know DDD explained exactly who that is: ua-cam.com/video/idL-hEDRS6g/v-deo.html (time stamped link to the appropriate scene in a DDD cutscene compilation)
In case you're hesitant to trust a link I'll explain through text as well:
The True Organization put Sora into a "second sleep" upon arriving at The World That Never Was and Young Xehanort explained several things to him. The first thing Sora witnessed was Brown Robed Figure approaching Past Young Xehanort on that beach. As this scene silently played out in front of him the Young Xehanort of the Organization spoke up from his "seat" next to Sora, drawing his gaze, and said the following:
"Yes. This was where it started. At this point, I still had no idea that I was talking to myself. He cast away his bodily form just to set me on the appointed path. That is Xehanort reduced to just a heart-the being you and your friends called "Ansem."
I haven't pressed play yet, but damn is it soo good to see your videos popping up again
The Scala we see in KH3 is the outdoor portion. Maybe this is the inside portion inside the dome.
This outro is the best yet
I dont think it was a dream because heartless and nobodys were there
Im guessing the scala we've seen is xehanort's version of scala (portal through his heart so making it his version) the scala we saw with brain is the current scala in the real world where sora and the others are in
The theory of sealing like birth by sleep also seems more logical to me (plus in dark road is mentioned that eraqus grandfather fought darkness right? What if it wasn't reffered to at what happened to the data world and more like something bad happened to scala thus the fight) that had to seal it and transform scala? 🤔 I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS BY THE WAY! 😍
It feels so good to have u back
Maybe Xehanort was born in a more modern Scala.
The robed figure is an elderly Master Ava.
Might be wild, but what if they tricked us and the Scala they showed at the end of Union X is one from Yozora's reality?
KHUX ENDING THEORY:
My Prediction is that the MoM knows about the reincarnation and dream eaters but i think one thing was excluded that not just the Heart gets rewritten and reincarnated but also the Darkness and light meaning even if they were to destroy the Darknesses they would simply be recycled and reused take for example Terra ,Aqua and Kairi they have striking remblence with the foretellers and carry a Strong Light but also have similar manner and behaviour like Aced and Terra.
I Predict because the Light and Darkness cant be destroyed he either wants them to die by their own Heart of equal force (because they carry the Darkness Luxu sets free by opening the box) meaning a light of similar power or The MoM knows he cant break the cycle so he simply needs to bring the Darkness to a World outside the realm of Reality, a realm of fiction, a realm without Light and Darkness "Quadratum"
As to how the MoM knows about reincarnation there is a possibility that he knows before the time of Daybreak Town as he has mentioned a lot of his friends died by the Hands of Darkness which led them to reincarnating they later turned out to be the foretellers why else would he raise them besides the reason that he knows them.
Personally I think the old man who takes baby Xehanort is ephemer.
I mean, we can see in both DR and KH3 that the Islands have different color schemes.
Sure but they’re just like slightly more red or slightly more blue towers and what not like we can’t really take away much detail from them lol
Man times were much simpler during kh1 my brain is so fried trying to figure out the kh universe so convoluted and confusing still great but just boggles the mind
One thing is for sure I ant to visit Daybreak Toown in the future Kingdom Hearts in beautiful HD
Well time travel is almost a certainty assuming the age of Fairy Tales is hundreds of years in the past and Xehanort is a reincarnation of the player from KHUX and that the reincarnation happened soon after the players demise.
The time gap could probably be explained by the fact that time flows differently in different worlds
